The Hero Became a Succubus, and the Only Way to Level is to… What?!

Kanae and Archbishop Patrice worked through a boatload of paperwork into the night, all regarding the upcoming Knights’ Tournament. Despite its name, any capable combatant was permitted to participate. This wasn’t just a bout between the Knights of the Order of Colors. Radevic wanted to put on a show of force to the world. Demonstrate that they, and their allies, were greater than the might of those that would do them harm.

Against enemies like the Empire of Ortesia and succubus cult nation Temptation. Against Artaggon as well, if they ever one day proved themselves as an enemy, who was going to send their champions to participate. Kanae also helped preemptively enroll the two most gung-ho participants, Edina Hackett and Petyr Stormcloud.

After signing off the last paper absolving Radevic of responsibility from any injury sustained on participants, Kanae planted her face on the desk and sighed. To her side, Archbishop Patrice lifted a glass of wine to her lips.

”How are you not exhausted?” Kanae groaned.

”Why would I be? This amount of workload was paltry. You won’t know mental exhaustion until you’ve poured through a hundred withered tomes, transcribing them on new paper. It’s important, you know, to ensure the transfer of knowledge isn’t jeopardized in the process,” Patrice explained.

”Knowing you, that was an enjoyable experience.” She rolled her eyes.

”But of course. Nothing is more thrilling than passing on the legacy of our accumulated knowledge. Some of those books are now in Mikki’s hands as she dabbles into advanced alchemy.” The archbishop leaned back in her seat and smiled.

”How are they? You’re still teaching after becoming Archbishop, right?”

One corner of the archbishop’s lips twitched, but she maintained her smile. It didn’t look genuine anymore though. More forced.

”I worry for Pan and Revah. They grow increasingly less interested in academia. Those two often skip classes, neglect homework, and seem wholly indifferent to participation. Perhaps you may find some time to speak with them while in Aidenhall,” Patrice suggested.

”I’ll do that,” Kanae said.

At the very least, Mikki and Teana sounded like they were doing fine. What was going on with Pan and Revah though?

Archbishop Patrice retired for the night, taking the tower stack of paperwork with her. Kanae was about to go to bed, too, until someone knocked on the door. When she went to answer it, Mitty was there.

”Perfect timing. I was hoping to blow off some steam after a long day.” Kanae nibbled on her lower lip.

”You’re in luck then! I couldn’t find ten, but I managed to get six goblins, who are interested and can keep quiet,” Mitty explained.

”Really? Six is good enough. That was fast. Bring them up. I’ll be the judge of whether or not they can satisfy Arenade,” she said.

For the rest of the night, Kanae availed herself to an orgy with Mitty and six other goblin men. They fucked her pussy, ass, and mouth. Some had more energy than others, and they came in varying ages and professions. However, Mitty’s friends had exactly what she was looking for to give Arenade a good time.

These goblins were lecherous. Animalistic and desperate in sex. They were all over her until there was nothing left to drain, at which point Kanae and Mitty continued making love in bed.

”Keep going, keep going! I’m going to cum again!” Kanae cried, drenched in cum underneath Mitty in the missionary position.

”I’m cumming, too!” Mitty plunged his thick hobgoblin cock deep into her pussy.

Hot cum flooded Kanae’s womb, threatening another pregnancy. She threw her legs behind his waist, wrapped her arms around his back, and kissed him. When Mitty finished, he laid his head between her breasts and basked in the afterglow of an intense orgasm.

”Well?” Mitty panted.

”They pass. I’m leaving for Radevic though, so you’re going to have to take over for surprising Arenade when she gets back from Talahurah,” Kanae said, her mind elsewhere.

But her goblin lover had taken notice. ”What’s wrong? You sound distracted.”

”The archbishop was here earlier. Told me Pan and Revah aren’t doing well in classes. I think they’re turning into delinquents.” She sighed.

”Maybe they just want to do other stuff. School might not be their thing. I never attended Knights’ Academy, and I turned out fine! You know what? How about I go to Radevic with you and talk to them! We’ll surprise Arenade with her goblin gangbang at her manor instead of here,” he suggested.

”Yeah, alright. Two of us talking to them is better than one.”

Kanae wanted to do better. She had to do better than her own parents. Better than Queen-Mother Zariah, too, so her children didn’t end up becoming like the Mistresses.

In the morning, everyone who would be leaving for Radevic gathered at Elizabeth Bedlam’s castle. This would be the most she had ever teleported at any given time, and as such required more crystallized mana to fuel the arcane engine. Kanae tapped into the royal coffers to bring forth the necessary amount. Normally, she would have made use of the Viviren mages to open a portal, but there were too many people this time. When Arenade returned from Talahurah, however, she would have to use it since they were going to be long gone.

As Kanae waited outside for the last few people to enter Eliza’s tower, she saw Petyr coming with both Vesh and Motta. The older incubus looked buddy buddy with the other, much to his dismay.

”Motta, you’re coming, too?” Kanae asked.

”Vesh really wanted me to. I figured, what the hey. I haven’t seen any other country besides the Commonwealth,” Motta explained.

”Kanae, you’re going to be entering the tournament,” Petyr said.

”Uh… That didn’t sound like a question…” She grimaced, shrinking at the idea of fighting her.

”Because it wasn’t. You and I will have our long-awaited rematch at last. Don’t you dare throw your matches either. I’ll know.” The paladin walked past.

”Sorry, Kanae. When Petyr gets the glint of battle in her eyes, she only has one thing on her mind,” Vesh apologized on her behalf, then hurried to catch up alongside Motta.

Kanae had hoped to just be a spectator. When Petyr demanded something, it better be done or she was going to make a habit of reminding you. In the two incubi and high elf’s place came Lilith and Zadris, descending from the castle wall.

”Your Majesty, we have performed all necessary preparations for your departure. We will continue ruling in your and Her Majesty Arenade’s place,” Zadris explained.

”Lady Andora Sempter said that she plans to accompany Arenade upon her return. What should we do if she declines though?” First Sister Lilith asked.

”If you tell Arenade I have a surprise waiting for her in Radevic, she’s not going to decline.” Kanae grinned.

Both of them bowed and wished her a pleasant trip. Kanae entered the tower, looking forward to her return to Radevic and more specifically to Amethyst Hall. Inside, Eliza’s residence hadn’t been this bustling since Amethyst Hall used it to travel to Artaggon.

Suvee was riding on Gretchen’s shoulders, while Kanade tagged along with Edina. Petyr and Archbishop Patrice were embroiled in a heated discussion over history. Mitty did his best to keep his six goblin friends from hitting on Eliza. Both Saint Priests, Lanil and Bocchiri were having tea on the third floor balcony. Meanwhile, Vesh and Motta explored the sorceress’ library floor.

”Okay, is everyone accounted for? We’re ready to leave! I am not coming back to fetch you if you’re left behind!” Eliza walked the floors as if taking attendance.

”We’re all here and ready to go,” Kanae said.

”Very well. Everyone!” she shouted into a brass megaphone connected to pipes along the wall, and her voice rang out from every direction. ”Stay away from the windows and brace yourselves. For some of you, teleporting via my tower will be your first time. It is a very jostling experience.”

Kanae followed Eliza into the arcen room. The rumbling furnace was running hot. Exhaust pipes whistled sharply from pressurized steam releasing to cool the engine. Every ticker on the valves in the room had flung to one side.

”Come on, you. We’ve rebuilt you better than before with felmetal!” Eliza stepped onto the magic circle in the center of the room and muttered an incantation.

The temperature dropped significantly. Kanae saw her own breath. A cloud of steam built up on the ceiling, showering them in cool rain. Falling droplets of water suddenly turned sideways.

”Oh, shit!” A force flung Kanae across the room, and she slammed into Eliza.

They both went tumbling into a desk on the far side of the engine room. The rain had stopped. Kanae and Eliza were drenched. The steaming pipes’ symphony was coming to a close.

”Ah, these tits are almost as good as Arenade’s.” Kanae seized the opportunity to grope the sorceress.

”I’m flattered, Amethyst, but would you help me up instead so I can check on the integrity of my engine?” Eliza giggled.

Kanae got up and pulled Eliza to her feet. They inspected the engine, and it was fortunately intact. Some pipes had burst, but nothing a quick repair job couldn’t fix. Eliza breathed a sigh of relief.

Everyone had survived the teleport and came away with minor headaches. The goblins were thrown from one room to the next, because they didn’t take Eliza’s warnings seriously.

”Mom, I wanna see Dawn. Can we come with you to Amethyst Hall?” Suvee asked, tugging on her wing.

”Of course. Mitty, you and the goblins make yourselves at home at the manor in Brighton. I’ll let Aisha and your mother know you’re in Radevic,” Kanae said.

”Sounds good!” Mitty gave a thumbs up, then ushered them out. ”Come on, guys. There’s beer at my place!”

”When do we get the bang the—”

He slapped a hand over the goblin’s mouth. Kanae sighed. She worried if they really could keep a secret.

”Amethyst, today is yours. Tomorrow at noon, you have a meeting with myself, the Grand Eye, the King, and a few special guests in the Basilica of Saint Rue,” Archbishop Patrice explained.

Lanil curtsied and Bocchiri bowed before joining the archbishop in leaving the tower next. Kanae picked up Suvee onto her shoulders, then grabbed Kanade’s hand.

”To Amethyst Hall?” Kanae smiled.

”Yeah!” Suvee cheered.

”You guys go ahead. I gotta drop by the Bonelands. Remind everyone what I’ve become and who’s boss. Meet ya back at the hall later!” Edina flew out a nearby window in lich form.

Petyr gave Vesh and Motta free rein to roam about the city. She and Gretchen joined Kanae in returning to Amethyst Hall. Stepping out of the tower, they were surprised to find the Aidenhall full of activity. Students were all over the corridors, putting up banners and drapes. Others colored in posters. Lecture halls and classrooms were open with people working on projects inside.

”It brings back bitter memories, but I do miss these halls. I just hope my presence doesn’t offend anyone,” Gretchen said thoughtfully.

”I doubt many people recognize you after I changed you into a half-succubus,” Kanae reasoned.

They passed by a study hall, where students were setting up displays on standing cardboard cutouts, upon the table, and display cabinets. Something about all this hubbub reminded Kanae about her own high school back in Japan.

Right! Culture Festival. Students put on shows or turned classrooms into cafes. It was a few days for the student body to celebrate their youths. This, too, must have been Archbishop Patrice’s idea.

”Oh, gods. Oh, gods. Oh, gods!” A hobgoblin succubus sprinted through the halls, not doing a very good job of dodging people. Everyone jumped out of her way, careful to avoid bumping into an alchemical glass apparatus in her hands.

”Mikki!” Kanae shouted.

”M-Mom? Ah—” Mikki tripped over her own foot, and the apparatus went flying.

”What did I tell you about being in a hurry?” Daya dashed in faster than anyone else, caught the apparatus, and landed on her back.

The canine beastman succubus opened one eye and sighed after confirming the apparatus was unharmed.

”I thought you were still in Ms. Loran’s class!” Mikki gasped.

”I followed you, because I had a feeling this would happen. Slow down, you dummy! I won’t be there to save you again the next time. Oh, and hi, Kanae.” Daya kissed Mikki on the cheek and handed her back the apparatus, then raced back down the hall to get back to her class.

”Hehe. Mikki got scolded by her girlfriend!” Suvee teased.

”Are you going to listen to Daya, or are you going to run again?” Kanae chided her daughter.

”Sorry… I couldn’t help myself. Professor Callem agreed to let me lead the alchemy showcase for my new potions! I’ll be more careful.” She rubbed her nose with one finger.

”That’s my girl. Have you seen Pan and Revah? I wanted to talk to them.”

”I’m not sure. They haven’t been coming to classes.” Her daughter frowned.

Then this had become a problem enough that even Mikki noticed.

”Don’t worry, I’ll find them later. Is all of this for the lead up to the Knights’ Tournament?” Kanae asked.

”Are you going to participate in the tourney!” Mikki beamed.

”I—”

”She will be,” Petyr answered for her.

”I guess I am…” Kanae sulked.

”That’s so cool! I’ll be rooting for you, Mom! Oh, I don’t know if you know this since you just got here. The student body also has a tournament of their own, not against the likes of you guys, but between themselves. Nelly, Runald, and Teana signed up. Anyway, I gotta go. Bye, Mom! I’ll play with you two later!” she promised Suvee and Kanade before taking off running.

”Slow down!” the three of them exclaimed.

Mikki skidded to a stop and started walking. So, those three were going to be fighting? The real surprise was Pan and Revah not participating. Kanae was sure those two were more combat-oriented. Maybe she read her own daughters wrong.

They made their way to Amethyst Hall, running into Magic Hand spells lifting things into high places, golems carrying heavy objects, and countless excited students in motion. When Kanae made it to her hall, it was home sweet home at last.

”Kanae?” Alicia gasped, cradling Dawn in the main chamber.

Suvee flew off Kanae’s shoulders and joined Kanade in hovering over their baby sister.

”I’m back, Alicia. And I wanted to get started on talking about who in Amethyst Hall is joining the tournament,” Kanae said.

”About that…” She glanced back as a large demon woman came strolling down the hall behind her.

”Demon!” Petyr growled.

The four-armed demon lieutenant of Artaggon, Minestra Val’doun.

”Kanae! Lord Charron sent me to represent Artaggon as its champion, but I’ll be fighting for your love out there!” Minestra blew a kiss with two hands, and the other pair was clasped over her chest.

”Oh, great.” Kanae pinched the bridge of her nose.
