Urban Martial Saint

Seeing Du Canglang not responding, Ye Qing stretched out his right hand again and said, ”Moreover, do you think this Buddha’s Relic is something you can just dig out at will? Du Canglang, this Buddha’s Relic is born in the center of my palm. Under the heavens, besides me, no one understands this Buddha’s Relic better. Even I can’t retrieve this Buddha’s Relic, let alone you?”

”The reason you can’t retrieve the Buddha’s Relic is because you can’t bring yourself to do it, but I’m different.” Du Canglang pulled out a dagger from somewhere, stared coldly at Ye Qing, and said, ”Just cut open your hand, and the Buddha’s Relic will naturally come out; what’s so difficult about that?”

”Hahaha...” Ye Qing laughed up at the sky. Not only did he not withdraw his hand, but he even moved his right hand closer to Du Canglang’s dagger, laughing, ”Alright then, cut open my hand and help me take out the Buddha’s Relic. I really want to see if you can actually cut open my hand!”

Du Canglang initially thought he could scare Ye Qing with such tactics, but to his surprise, Ye Qing actually brought his hand over for him to cut open. This left him speechless, unsure of what Ye Qing truly intended.

”Do you really think I don’t dare?” Du Canglang said in a deep voice, ”Ye, I’m giving you one more chance. Retrieve the Buddha’s Relic yourself, and tell me its secret, and I’ll spare your life. Otherwise, if I act personally, you won’t live!”

”Du Canglang, I’m starting to think you have some serious intellectual issues!” Ye Qing said in a deep voice, ”If I could truly retrieve the Buddha’s Relic or control its power, I would have killed you long ago! Why would I end up captured by you? Let me be honest, the Buddha’s Relic inside me is not only unusable by me, but it is constantly threatening my life. If you can help remove the Buddha’s Relic, it would be the best thing for me. As for its secrets, I also wish to know, as even I can’t wield its power!”

Ye Qing’s words were indeed all true, and Du Canglang frowned because he felt that Ye Qing was not lying. If Ye Qing could indeed use the Buddha’s Relic, he would have acted long ago, with no need to wait until now. Could it be as Ye Qing said, that the Buddha’s Relic cannot be retrieved, and that even Ye Qing is unaware of its secrets?

If this is true, then capturing Ye Qing was all for nothing. Without retrieving the Buddha’s Relic, he naturally cannot control its tremendous power. Holding Ye Qing has made him a public enemy, with many hunting for him, making it a self-inflicted disaster.

After pondering for a while, Du Canglang suddenly opened his eyes wide and said, ”Hmph, I don’t believe this Buddha’s Relic can’t be retrieved. Ye, you can’t fool me! I’m getting it out now!”

With that, Du Canglang pulled Ye Qing’s right hand in front of him and stabbed down with the dagger, intending to pierce Ye Qing’s palm and extract the Buddha’s Relic. However, when the dagger landed on Ye Qing’s hand, it couldn’t penetrate at all, not even scratching Ye Qing’s skin, as if hitting the hardest steel.

”What’s going on?” Du Canglang was startled and stabbed again with force. But the dagger’s tip became bent, and yet, Ye Qing’s hand remained unharmed, not even leaving a mark.

”I told you, this Buddha’s Relic inside me can’t be taken out,” Ye Qing said helplessly. ”You don’t believe it, but now you should, right?”

”Like I’d believe you!” Du Canglang withdrew the dagger and swung it forcefully at Ye Qing’s wrist, saying coldly, ”Then I’ll chop off your hand and study it slowly.”

While speaking, the dagger already struck Ye Qing’s wrist, but the result was the same. The dagger struck, but Ye Qing’s wrist remained pristine, without a single mark. Meanwhile, the dagger’s blade was bent out of shape due to Du Canglang’s force.

”What... what’s going on?” Du Canglang’s eyes widened, having no idea about Ye Qing’s condition. Ye Qing’s physical body was comparable to the Buddhist Vajra Indestructible Body. Even ordinary weapons, or even a famed instrument, couldn’t harm him. Otherwise, Ye Qing would have already extracted the Buddha’s Relic.

”Now do you believe it?” Ye Qing said slowly. Although he was in Du Canglang’s hands, he wasn’t the least bit panicked. He knew his own situation well, harboring the power of the Buddha’s Relic and the Devouring Demon Flower, making it hard even to die.

Du Canglang stared blankly at the ruined dagger in his hand. After a long silence, he suddenly grabbed Ye Qing and headed straight for the depths of the cave.

”What are you doing?” Ye Qing asked in surprise, but Du Canglang didn’t respond, continuing to drag Ye Qing into the depths of the cave.

The cave was quite spacious, but it was devoid of light, making it extremely dark inside. Du Canglang dragged Ye Qing further inward for about a mile until they finally reached the end of the cave.

Du Canglang tossed Ye Qing aside, then walked to the end, and knocked on the stone wall a few times. The stone wall echoed crisply, hinting that it was hollow inside.

Ye Qing was surprised, not expecting there to be a secret chamber inside the cave, and wondered what could possibly be inside this chamber.

Du Canglang patted the stone wall several times in succession, and a door slowly opened, revealing a pitch-black secret chamber. He was determined that Ye Qing was doomed, so he didn’t bother hiding it from him. Therefore, Ye Qing could see the mechanisms of the cave clearly.

”Get in,” Du Canglang said, pulling Ye Qing into the chamber, and casually switched on a flashlight, illuminating the chamber brightly.

Ye Qing looked around, the chamber wasn’t very large, about twenty square meters. However, the chamber was filled with all sorts of weapons. Various weapons were crammed within, an extremely dense array filling this chamber.

Looking at the dust collected on the weapons, they had probably been placed here for a long time. However, each weapon looked as good as new, without any rust or damage, showing that these weapons must all be famed instruments. Such a large collection was definitely no small number, even surpassing the Shen Family’s Treasure Pavilion in goods, with at least over two hundred pieces.

”Where... where did all these famed instruments come from?” Ye Qing couldn’t help but ask.

”You can recognize these are famed instruments!” Du Canglang glanced at Ye Qing and said proudly, ”These are my stockpile, collected and hidden here before I retired from the world. Many of these famed instruments are coveted treasures that martial artists would dream of!”

Ye Qing frowned slightly, looking at the densely packed famed instruments. ”It seems you killed quite a few people back in the day. For these famed instruments, who knows how many souls perished at your hands?”

”Hahaha...” Du Canglang laughed instead of getting angry, boastfully saying, ”I roamed the world, rarely meeting my match. These famed instruments are my spoils. Those fools couldn’t keep them anyway, might as well let me give them a home!”

”Hmph!” Ye Qing said coldly, ”Have you ever heard of karmic retribution? You killed so many, retribution will come eventually.”

”Retribution?” Du Canglang sneered, ”Do you believe in such nonsense? I’ve killed countless, yet saw no retribution. I’ll tell you, in this world, strength rules. If you’re strong enough, you can kill anyone. If not, being killed is deserved. Once I acquire the Buddha’s Relic, my strength will be unparalleled, who could kill me then? This talk of retribution is pure nonsense, only absolute strength is real!”

As Du Canglang spoke, he picked up a long sword from the heap of famed instruments, staring coldly at Ye Qing. ”You’ve got tough skin, even broke the dagger. However, let’s see how your flesh fares against these famed instruments.”

Ye Qing, seeing these famed instruments, knew Du Canglang intended to use them to dig out the Buddha’s Relic. However, Ye Qing wasn’t worried, as he was well aware of his own situation. His right arm resembled the Buddhist Vajra Indestructible Body, even famed instruments couldn’t harm it. So, even with such instruments, Du Canglang couldn’t injure him.

Noticing Ye Qing’s unchanged expression, Du Canglang felt somewhat apprehensive. But having taken up the famed instrument, he saw no reason not to try.

Taking a deep breath, Du Canglang again grabbed Ye Qing’s hand and struck it with the long sword. But just like before, although the sword was a famed instrument, it couldn’t harm Ye Qing’s hand. Of course, the long sword was slightly better than the dagger, as it was harder to damage. Thus, despite Du Canglang’s considerable effort, the sword remained intact, yet still couldn’t break Ye Qing’s hand.

”How’s this possible?” Du Canglang couldn’t help exclaiming, astonished that even the famed instrument couldn’t slice through Ye Qing’s hand. It was incredibly strange. Even if Ye Qing had practiced the Thirteen Protectors’ Horizontal Golden Bell Shield as an External Kung Fu, it shouldn’t be so formidable. The body’s strength greatly surpassed that of the Thirteen Protectors’ Horizontal Golden Bell Shield as an External Kung Fu.
