Bodhidharma himself left behind, Power of Dragon Elephant!

Ye Qing was instantly stunned by these eight words. So, does this mean that the monk he saw in the Demon Hideout Cave is actually the legendary Patriarch Bodhidharma of the Buddhist Sect?

Ye Qing was well aware of the significance of Patriarch Bodhidharma, even if he hadn’t heard Shen Tianjun mention those secrets; the name was already as well-known as thunder in his ears. Later, after hearing about Patriarch Bodhidharma’s deeds from Shen Tianjun and seeing many Secret Techniques left by him, this monk who came to the Central Plains to spread teachings had long been revered as a mythical figure. Who would have thought that this person would also enter the Demon Hideout Cave in Beimang Mountain, and even leave such two sentences inside?

However, upon reflection, Ye Qing finally understood. No wonder he had been able to follow the signs left by the monk all the way to the deepest part of the cave. It turns out the monk was none other than Patriarch Bodhidharma. Such a great wise man, if he couldn’t reach the deepest part of the Demon Hideout Cave, now that would be truly strange.

But, what does the subsequent Power of Dragon Elephant really mean?

Ye Qing looked up at the Bloody Monk and Wolf Monk; just now, the expressions on their faces clearly changed, indicating that they must know something.

”Blood Robe Sect Leader, what does Power of Dragon Elephant mean?” Ye Qing asked.

”In water, dragon power is great; on land, elephant power is great. Therefore, the Buddhist Sect uses dragon and elephant to symbolize those among Arahants who possess the strongest cultivating vigor,” Bloody Monk said. ”The so-called Power of Dragon Elephant in the Buddhist Sect represents the greatest strength. If I’m not mistaken, the Power of Dragon Elephant should be among the Secret Techniques left by Patriarch Bodhidharma!”

”Ah?” Ye Qing was shocked. Does this mean he has practiced one of the Secret Techniques left by Patriarch Bodhidharma? Power of Dragon Elephant, no wonder his Inner Strength would surge when using this move; it turns out this is the reason!

”It is said that Patriarch Bodhidharma left behind a total of six Secret Techniques, scattered in different places. Unexpectedly, there is such a Secret Technique left in the Demon Hideout Cave within Beimang Mountain!” Wolf Monk looked at Ye Qing and said, ”Ye Qing, for you to learn this move Power of Dragon Elephant, it seems you truly have a connection with our Buddhist Sect!”

Ye Qing was even more shocked in his heart. He had already seen four of the Secret Techniques left by Patriarch Bodhidharma. Helian Tiehua’s A Stone’s Throw Away, Purple Robe Lama’s Crossing the River with a Reed, Shen Tianjun’s Six Paths of Reincarnation, the masked elder’s Causal Cycle, and the Power of Dragon Elephant he learned within Beimang Mountain. Counting this way, only one of the six Secret Techniques left by Patriarch Bodhidharma has not yet surfaced. No wonder Shijia sought the site of Bodhidharma’s nirvana; the Secret Techniques of Bodhidharma, left for hundreds of years without being discovered, have all simultaneously appeared within the last dozen years; this is surely no coincidence.

The Bloody Monk’s face also showed a hint of shock, even more than the Wolf Monk. He stared at Ye Qing for a while, then suddenly asked, ”Ye Qing, the Power of Dragon Elephant you saw, was it in the form of a diagram or text?”

”Of course, it was a diagram,” Ye Qing replied. ”If it was text, then it would surely be in Buddhist Texts, which I would not be able to learn. At the time, everything was depicted in diagrams with the direction of Inner Strength flow indicated, making it quite convenient to learn.”

”It really is so!” The Bloody Monk’s expression changed further, his brows furrowed in deep thought, yet it was unclear what he was contemplating.

”Blood Robe Sect Leader, is there something wrong?” Ye Qingqi inquired.

The Bloody Monk seemed a bit hesitant, pondered for a good while, then raised his head to look at Ye Qing, and said softly, ”Actually, I... I also learned a Secret Technique left by Patriarch Bodhidharma!”

”What!?” Ye Qing and Wolf Monk simultaneously exclaimed, does this mean all the six Secret Techniques left by Patriarch Bodhidharma have emerged?

”This matter dates back to fifteen years ago. At that time, I had just Blood Butchered Xiaolin Temple, entered Jianghu, established Sha Men, and killed many people, with my murderous intent growing more intense by the day. Due to an accidental opportunity, I fell into a cave in Huangfeng Mountain and saw a diagram inside, with annotations in Buddhist Texts beside it. At that time, my mind was hit by the murderous intent, becoming somewhat unclear, and I didn’t even pay attention to the annotations in Buddhist Texts. However, the diagram showed the method of Inner Strength flow.” The Bloody Monk paused gently at this point and continued, ”At that time, driven by curiosity, I began to practice according to the method. I didn’t expect that after practicing this move, my mindset gradually became peaceful, my murderous intent was gradually suppressed, and my mind became clear again. Eventually, I was able to calmly sit down and carefully delve into the Buddhist Texts on that stone wall!”

No wonder the Bloody Monk suddenly disappeared fifteen years ago; it turns out he experienced something like this within himself, something no one could have predicted.

”What did the Buddhist Texts say?” Ye Qing asked eagerly.

”Similar to what you saw in the Demon Hideout Cave,” the Bloody Monk replied. ”Bodhidharma himself left behind, Enlightenment Bodhi!”

”Enlightenment Bodhi?” Ye Qing was taken aback, asking in amazement, ”Is this... is this also one of the Secret Techniques left by Patriarch Bodhidharma?”

”Bodhi originally has no tree, the bright mirror is also not a stand. Originally, there is not a single thing, so where could dust alight!” The Wolf Monk sighed and said, ”Patriarch Bodhidharma was indeed a rare eminent monk throughout the ages, to be able to comprehend such a move. It seems that the greatest effect of this move is to suppress the heart demon. Senior Brother, you were able to learn this move when your heart demon was at its strongest. That truly is Buddhist destiny!”

The Bloody Monk sighed softly. Although his disposition was exceptionally high, he had to admit that the secret technique left behind by Patriarch Bodhidharma was indeed extraordinary. He learned this move ’Enlightenment Bodhi’, not only suppressing his bloodlust but also greatly increasing his inner strength. In the past, he was only comparable to the ’Five Uniques’, but now he had the strength to rival them head-on, all thanks to ’Enlightenment Bodhi’.

”Blood Robe Sect Leader, why did you have such strong bloodlust at that time?” Ye Qing couldn’t help but ask. The incident where the Bloody Monk suddenly went mad and massacred Xiaolin Temple had always been an unresolved mystery. Although the Bloody Monk admitted that he killed those people, no one knew the exact reason behind it.

Ye Qing had known the Bloody Monk for quite some time and had a good understanding of him. Despite the Bloody Monk’s ruthless actions and numerous killings, Ye Qing could see that he was someone who reasoned things out and wouldn’t kill without cause. There must have been a reason behind the massacre of the entire Xiaolin Temple.

The Bloody Monk shook his head and did not explain the matter to Ye Qing. He seemed unwilling to bring up the events of that year. The Wolf Monk had asked him many times, but he never answered.

Seeing that the Bloody Monk was unwilling to speak, Ye Qing didn’t press further and instead said solemnly, ”With the addition of the Blood Robe Sect Leader’s move ’Enlightenment Bodhi’, all six secret techniques left by Patriarch Bodhidharma have now appeared. From the time Patriarch Bodhidharma passed away until now, it has been several hundred years. Why did not even one appear in those centuries, yet they have all emerged in the last ten years? Could it be, as Shijia said, that this was all part of Patriarch Bodhidharma’s arrangements from back then?”

”Patriarch Bodhidharma possessed great wisdom, and maybe he truly arranged everything hundreds of years ago,” the Wolf Monk said. ”It’s like the Great Sage Guiguzi of the Taoist Sect, who left behind Heaven, Earth, and Man Three Gates thousands of years ago, almost guiding the development of everything in later generations. It shouldn’t be too difficult for Patriarch Bodhidharma to decide the timing for the emergence of these six secret techniques hundreds of years ago!”

”But what does it mean for these six secret techniques to appear in this era?” Ye Qingqi asked curiously.

The Bloody Monk and the Wolf Monk shook their heads simultaneously. They also did not know the reason behind it. However, since a person of great wisdom like Patriarch Bodhidharma made such arrangements, there must be a reason.

”Senior Brother has already gone to find the place where Patriarch Bodhidharma passed away. Perhaps he can find a clue or two there!” the Wolf Monk suddenly said.

”It seems we’ll have to wait for Master Shijia to return,” Ye Qing slowly nodded and said solemnly, ”Forget it, let’s not think about these things for now. The immediate priority is to resolve the matter of the Corpse Ghost Dragon. As long as the Corpse Ghost Dragon exists, the world will not have peace!”

The Bloody Monk and the Wolf Monk nodded in agreement with Ye Qing’s sentiments.

”Alright, I won’t disturb you further. I’ll go arrange the matters concerning the Corpse Ghost Dragon,” Ye Qing cupped his hands towards the Bloody Monk and said, ”Sect Leader, I’ll have to trouble you to take care of this child for a few more days.”

”Rest assured, you can leave him here,” the Bloody Monk looked at Broom Star and said, ”This child is destined to be with me. No matter what happens in the world, I will protect him with all my might. If anyone wants to harm him, they’ll have to step over my dead body!”

Ye Qing was quite shocked by the Bloody Monk’s resolute words. It was indeed rare for someone like the Bloody Monk to protect another with such dedication.

”This child is also destined to be with Buddhism.” The Wolf Monk looked at Broom Star with some curiosity and said, ”Such a young child, yet he understands Buddhist texts. It’s truly remarkable.”

”Perhaps it’s because he possesses an innate Buddha Heart.” Ye Qing said casually. Ever since he learned about the existence of a Taoist Heart, he had believed Broom Star to innately possess a Buddha Heart.

”Is that so?” The Wolf Monk and the Bloody Monk exchanged a glance, both clearly puzzled.

”He’s been by my side for so many days, and I haven’t noticed any Buddha Heart in him?” The Bloody Monk whispered in curiosity.

”Perhaps the child is too young for it to be apparent,” the Wolf Monk whispered back. Given Broom Star’s situation, what other explanation could there be besides an innate Buddha Heart?

At this moment, the three of them didn’t notice that Broom Star, who had been keeping his head down, seemed to be enchanted and was mumbling softly, ”To eliminate the Corpse Ghost Dragon, the seventh move of Bodhidharma is ultimately needed!”

Unfortunately, no one noticed or heard these words.
