Reborn in the Apocalypse: A Seductive Beauty Captivates a Pure-hearted Roughneck

107: Chapter 107 Does the whole building belong to our family?”Sister Ning, you keep the crystal nucleus; we’ll ask you for them when we need them.” Jiang Heng weighed the bag, thinking it was too risky to leave in the room but too heavy to carry around.

”Yeah, yeah, Sister Ning, please keep them for us.” Everyone pushed the crystal nucleus toward Xu Wanning.

Jiang Heng pondered and suggested, ”Or, how about we set up a points card? I can modify the points card we used in Jing City. Instead of calling it points, how about we call it Yuanbao? A Yuanbao card.”

Xu Yu looked disdainful. ”Forget it, think of something else.”

”Can you come up with something better?” Jiang Heng challenged.

Xu Wanning raised a hand to stop the discussion. ”Everyone can think about it slowly. We don’t need it for now anyway. Jiang Heng, you’re in charge of setting up the card recharge system.”

Starting over meant there was a lot to do, but the primary task now was clearing out the zombies.

She didn’t plan to kill all the zombies in Jin City; after all, if they were all gone, what would be the point of recruiting other survivors?

She only planned to clear out a Central District similar to the one in Jing City, using their current building as the center and expanding outward.

Survivors who arrived later would be arranged in other districts, while the Central District would belong to those who had arrived first.

Later, she would have the Metal-element ability user and Earth-type Ability users build walls to enclose the Central District and set up heavy weaponry around it. If anyone wanted to seize power, they would be fought directly.

Of course, the Central District wouldn’t be huge. With fewer than 300 people, they didn’t need that much space—an area within a 5-minute drive would suffice.

It just needed to contain the museum, library, science museum, The Square, convenience stores, bookstores, and a park.

This building would serve as the office building for daily rest, but their real homes would be in the residential complex next door.

From upstairs, one could see two nice residential complexes nearby with large flat-style apartments. The closest one was a 5-minute walk away, and the other was about 10 minutes away.

As for villas, there weren’t any nearby; the closest ones were 2 kilometers away, so that would be discussed later.

”I just checked from upstairs. There are two pretty good residential complexes nearby, both with large flat-style apartments. We’ll start by clearing the zombies from here to those complexes. Then we’ll see everyone’s choice. Based on the headcount, everyone gets two or three units.”

There were only 288 of them in total. It was estimated that the two complexes had at least 800 units, so everyone could definitely be guaranteed two units. If there were extra, they would get three. They would figure it out after they moved over.

”Ah! If that’s the case, who needs a villa? Two or three units per person is just like a villa, only bigger and with more rooms!”

Jiang Heng was incredibly excited. Aside from the villa Sister Ning had before, he had never lived in a villa in his life.

Not just him, but his friends hadn’t either. Their eyes were shining, and their families felt the same.

”Then if I’m with my parents, wouldn’t we get 9 units? If that building happens to have exactly nine units, wouldn’t the whole building be ours?!”

Xu Yu laughed out loud. Could he also own a house? Hehe, so happy.

Xu Wanning nodded. ”You’re not wrong about that.”

Everyone was even happier; they didn’t even want to eat anymore, all eager to get started.

”Alright, eat first. If you have energy this afternoon, we’ll go out to kill zombies. Zhiyu, tally up the number of people who can go out in a bit and split them into squads.”

After Xu Wanning finished speaking, she waved for everyone to hurry up and eat.

With thoughts of houses on their minds, they ate faster than ever.

According to Lu Zhiyu’s count, 112 people could go out to kill zombies—fewer than Xu Wanning had expected.

Except for the parents with Supernatural ability, the other parents couldn’t go. If they got injured by a zombie and mutated, it wouldn’t be worth the risk.

Even if they wanted to go, they couldn’t be allowed to. They would be responsible for logistics for now. After systematic training later, if they wanted to go out, they could join in.

Of course, they also had to be responsible for protecting this place. Each of them was equipped with a gun produced by the Metal-element ability user and a magazine of bullets to ensure they could kill zombies.

”112 people split into 4 squads, 28 people per squad. Squad 1 led by A-Yue, Squad 2 led by Zhou Ke, Squad 3 led by Police Captain Cheng Jingchuan, and Squad 4 led by me. Let’s go!”

Basically, she didn’t even need to divide them; everyone automatically formed squads.

Fed and watered, time to work!

There were a lot of zombies outside. Having finally sensed the scent of living humans, the zombies were incredibly excited. If not for the walls blocking them, they definitely would have rushed in.

”Clear them from the wall with guns first.” Xu Wanning flipped onto the wall and froze a large area of zombies.

Fixed targets were very easy to hit. If not for the silencers installed, the noise here would have been enough to attract all the zombies in the city.

”Nickname, you guys just go. Leave the zombies here to us.” Grandpa Zhou raised his gun and came out with the remaining family members.

”Okay.” Xu Wanning opened the path. ”Let’s move out.”

Leaving the zombies near the building to Grandpa Zhou and the others, they started clearing the area beyond their shooting range, splitting into two paths with the two residential complexes as their targets.

Without any evolved zombies, progress was very fast.

”I’m starting to think these zombies look quite pleasing to the eye now.” Jiang Heng chopped off a zombie’s head with a knife.

”Exaggerating, aren’t you? I still think it’s disgusting.” Zhang Shan also chopped down a zombie.

Xu Wanning stood in the middle, constantly freezing zombies. If it weren’t for her, everyone would be in a very passive position.

Now the zombies just let them hack away—it was satisfying.

The Fire Ability users also let loose. Inside buildings, they were afraid of setting the place on fire, so they couldn’t use their Supernatural ability. Only outside could they maximize their utility, and they were all incredibly excited.

”Ah!” A shout from Lu Zhiyu came from afar.

Just as Xu Wanning was about to go over, she realized Police Captain Cheng Jingchuan had already rushed over first, so she stopped in her tracks.

It had been so long, and yet the two of them still hadn’t made any substantial progress. She wondered if being on the same squad now would lead to some development. They clearly liked each other, but neither would pierce the window paper.

”Nickname, does my boy like that Lu girl?” Uncle Cheng didn’t know when he had sidled over.

Xu Wanning nodded slightly. ”I think so, but I don’t know what the actual situation is.”

Uncle Cheng laughed out loud. ”The Lu girl is so great. This kid is really slow. Back when I set my sights on his mom, I confessed on the spot.”

Xu Wanning was stunned for a moment. ”And the auntie agreed?”

Uncle Cheng shook his head. ”She called me a psycho.”

Xu Wanning held back her laughter. If it were her, she would have cursed him too. Confessing the first time you see someone is too strange.

Xu Wanning couldn’t help but laugh. ”But you still managed to win her over later; you’ve got charm.”

”You have no idea how much effort it took. However, it was precisely because I confessed at the start that she knew I was pursuing her. Otherwise, she might have thought it was just a friendship. Just like my son now, he really didn’t inherit anything from me.”

He had a look of disdain on his face, completely looking down on Police Captain Cheng Jingchuan.

Uh, it was fine for his own father to say that, but she wasn’t going to respond to that.
