Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 1017: Chapter 997: Preparing for the Birthday Banquet

When Huang Yueran and He Jun knocked on the door, with bags full of things in their hands, only Luo Qianqian had the time, so she opened the door while holding An Hao.

”Qhianqhian!!” The deafening sound made Luo Qianqian’s eyebrows twitch.

”I’m here, I’m here godmother! Hurry up and come in. Godfather, do you need help?”

Seeing the two people busy on their phones, Huang Yueran felt a bit bewildered, ”What’s going on here?”

Luo Qianqian looked at the floor full of groceries, her lips twitched, what’s going on here? Who are they trying to overfeed?

What’s squirming in those black bags?

”Isn’t it An Hao’s first birthday tomorrow? My mom said she couldn’t come, so I’m hosting it. Look, I’m contacting people.” Luo Qianqian shrugged, teased little Xiao An.

”You should have mentioned it earlier, I haven’t even bought clothes.” Huang Yueran’s face lit up with happiness upon hearing this.

She kept insisting that it should be celebrated, but An Zilan wouldn’t listen, saying An Hao couldn’t even eat, it would be a waste.

And what happened? The girl came back and obediently organized everything, didn’t she?

”Your mom listens to you the best.” He Jun also shared his sentiment.

Luo Qianqian grinned: ”In a bit, godmother and godfather, give me your sizes, I’ll find someone to buy clothes for you.”

”Don’t waste that money!” Huang Yueran immediately frowned, an unsatisfied look on her face.

She can buy, but the kids wasting money is unacceptable.

”Then I’ll just buy for my mom and Uncle Lin? Won’t godfather and godmother get jealous?” Luo Qianqian laughed mischievously: ”Oh right, godfather and godmother should contact people too, I’ve reserved twenty tables...”

The two who thought Luo Qianqian reserved just one or two tables were dumbfounded.

The next second, Luo Qianqian and An Hao watched Huang Yueran jump up: ”You child, why waste so much money? Hurry and cancel it, godfather and godmother don’t need you to spend money on us, quickly.”

Luo Qianqian’s eyes darted around a couple of times: ”But I was planning to celebrate both mom and godmother’s birthdays too, you know? I used my scholarship for the reservation, and if it’s canceled, I’ll lose the deposit...” She looked innocent.

Huang Yueran quietly picked up her phone and walked towards Luo Qianqian’s room, He Jun, in silence, picked up his phone and walked towards the door.

Even when the doorbell sounded again, the four of them were still on the phone.

Luo Qianqian helplessly held An Hao and went to open the door again.

”Uncle Lin, you’re back.” Luo Qianqian looked at the person outside the door, without a hint of surprise, grinning as she let him in: ”Sorry to trouble you to cook, everyone’s busy right now.”

”Qhianqhian?” Lin Xu looked at the smiling young girl in front of him, paused for a moment, then showed a face full of surprise, as well as at the happy little boy in her arms, wasn’t he indeed his own son?

”What happened at home?” Hearing the sound of phones ringing everywhere and seeing the pile of groceries on the floor, Lin Xu’s lips twitched as he put down his luggage.

”It’s An Hao’s first birthday tomorrow, busy contacting people.” Luo Qianqian shrugged, looked down at the vibrating phone, and smiled.

Clothes were already taken care of, Qin Nuan was bringing hers, both brothers were bringing theirs, OK.

”Oh yes, look at my mind, when did you get back?” Lin Xu happily entered the house and put down his things.

”Just got back.” Luo Qianqian casually took the items in Lin Xu’s hand and winked at him: ”Looks like Uncle Lin didn’t suffer too much.”

Lin Xu rubbed his head and pulled at the corner of his mouth.

Although he didn’t understand how Luo Qianqian always managed to find out about these things.

But he was released ahead of time, straight from the top approving it.

He was originally innocent, so being released early didn’t feel odd to him.

Then he eagerly headed to the kitchen to cook.

After all the phone calls, smelling the aroma of food, the four people’s faces darkened, hopefully Qhianqhian didn’t cook, can it be eaten?

They all had this thought.

But when they came out they saw a familiar figure.

”Old Lin?” He Jun called out in surprise.

An Zilan and He Wenyu finally reacted and came out to see the cooking figure.

An Zilan started crying again, weeping as she rushed over.

Luo Qianqian curved her lips, compared to the previous lifetime’s hard-working, strong women, the greatest mom ever, she preferred her mom being such a little woman, though she often shed tears.

After eating to their fill, Luo Qianqian leisurely took a shower and returned to her room, not even closing the door, and lay quietly on her bed, while He Wenyu was taken home by her parents, who missed their daughter.

She had only been lying for a short while when a crawling baby invaded her room.

”Sister.” An Hao sat on the floor, his big black and white eyes stared intently at her.

Qhianqhian sat up, looking at the baby sitting on the floor with a momentary blank expression, and listened intently to the noises next door, then speechlessly picked the baby up, ”How did you get down here?”

Even though the baby crib is placed in the living room, it still has barriers, right?

Picking up An Hao and looking at the pillow and blanket on the living room floor, Qhianqhian’s mouth twitched, her finger lightly tapped his nose, ”Little clever rascal.”

”Sister will tell you a story, you be good and sleep, no wetting the bed and no staying awake for half the night.” Then she picked up a book full of jokes from the side.

Her gentle voice slowly filled the room, and soon, the sound of the baby’s steady breathing could be heard.

Closing the book, Qhianqhian looked speechless, indeed, little children don’t understand stories at all.

Putting An Hao on the bed and tucking him in, Qhianqhian silently sat aside and started her essential cultivation.

However, when the two newlywed-like parents thought of their son, all they saw were pillows and blankets on the floor, and their daughter’s bedroom door wide open.

Walking over, they saw their son taking up their daughter’s entire bed, and their daughter sitting on the floor leaning against the bed.

The two of them helplessly came over, one picked up the son, the other picked up the daughter, trying to put them back in their respective beds.

The next second, they watched as the two simultaneously opened their eyes.

One burst out crying, while the other put away the dagger already in hand...

”Mom, just leave An Hao here, I’ll watch him.” Qhianqhian looked at An Hao crying non-stop and crawling back to bed, gently patted twice, took out the book, turned on the bedside lamp, and her gentle voice sounded again, though reading jokes.

Yet An Hao closed his eyes willingly, soon sleeping soundly.

Lin Xu and An Zilan exchanged glances and quietly exited the room.

Who needs parents when having an elder sister around?

The night passed by as Qhianqhian diligently engaged in cultivation.

Early in the morning, as Qhianqhian finished cultivating, she saw An Hao sitting at the bedside blinking his big eyes but not disturbing her.

”Waking up so early, are you hungry, little one?” Qhianqhian picked up An Hao, patting his behind, suddenly showing a face full of disdain, calling out, ”Mom, An Hao stinks.”

An Zilan opened her eyes, listening to her daughter’s voice, and got up speechlessly.

Indeed, Xiao Yu was right.

Having changed the diaper, and once Qhianqhian finished washing up, she heard a knock on the door, opened it, and raised an eyebrow at the strange man.

”Miss Luo, I’m sent by Boss Tu to deliver clothes, please check and accept them.” He said, taking out several bags.

”Thank you.” Qhianqhian reached out, took one hundred yuan from the wallet on the shoe cabinet, and handed it to the man, ”Thanks for your trouble.”

”No need, Boss Tu paid for it.”

”Just take it,” she said.

Closing the door, Qhianqhian took a faint look at the clothes; they indeed were as she had mentioned: festive, wearable daily, comfortable, and stylish.

The only problem is, who could tell her why among all the red ones, there is suddenly one pink and one apricot-colored? And the pink one, quite coincidentally, is in her size... the apricot one is He Wenyu’s size. Okay, at her age, they don’t really prefer such festive colors.

Absolutely presumptuous.

”Who was it?” An Zilan finished nursing, came out holding An Hao, and froze for a moment at the sight of the bags in her daughter’s hand.

”Clothes delivery, Mom, here’s yours. This one’s Uncle Lin’s. I’ll head downstairs to give godfather and godmother their clothes.” After a moment, she pointed at the wallet on the shoe cabinet, ”I spent one hundred yuan.”

”Alright.” An Zilan looked at the wallet, nodded, but had a face full of confusion. Whose wallet is this?

Huang Yueran complained yet with delight changed into a deep red outfit, while He Jun looked quite satisfied seeing his dark red traditional robe, thinking it would be perfect for Jiayou, Shufan, Xiao Yu, and Qhianqhian’s future weddings.

Lin Jiayou hurried back by plane, and upon seeing Qhianqhian’s disgusted look toward his clothes, awkwardly smiled, ”I’ll change then.”

Originally hearing that Qhianqhian booked the birthday banquet with her scholarship, Huang Yueran merely felt it was extravagant but not particularly shocked. Nonetheless, hearing the named restaurant from Qhianqhian, she just wanted to regret.

How could a university student’s scholarship afford to hold a banquet at a Five-Star hotel?

Yet she silently accompanied An Zilan to take pictures with An Hao, even the driver arranged by Qhianqhian.

They increasingly didn’t understand this child now.

Especially after receiving that jade pendant.

Qhianqhian and He Wenyu arrived early at the hotel to handle arrangements.

As the An Family hurried over by car and flagged down a taxi to rush there, they were a bit dumbfounded.

Is An Hao’s birthday banquet really in the right place?

Even back when it was Luo Shufan and Luo Qianqian’s school promotion banquet, it wasn’t this elaborate...
