Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 690: Chapter 462: Am I the Second Young Lady?

Xiaomi initially thought she would see someone who, because her husband went to the town every day, was left alone at home, bullied by her mother-in-law and sisters-in-law, and looked pitiful and emaciated.

After all, the miserable appearance of the family she saw when she first opened her eyes was still fresh in her memory.

However, this time, she obviously overthought it.

Before she and Wei Ziang even reached the Fu family, she could see from a distance a voluptuous woman under the eaves, leisurely picking vegetables.

Xiaomi was stunned for a moment, then hesitantly called out, ”Xiaocao?”

It was no wonder Xiaomi almost didn’t recognize her.

The girl who used to hunt with her all over the mountains was so spirited and full of energy, not an ounce of excess fat, and could carry a goat with one hand like it was nothing.

And because she was always running in the mountains, basking in the sun was no problem for her, so Xiaocao in Xiaomi’s memory was initially an unhealthy yellow, which later turned into a beautiful wheat color.

Anyway, she was a very handsome, extremely energetic girl.

Now, looking at the woman under the eaves, who is voluptuous, with fair skin and a beautiful face, lazily and leisurely picking vegetables,

it’s no wonder Xiaomi was hesitant. After all, the difference from the Xiaocao she knew was incredibly vast.

Could it be the change brought by marriage and pregnancy?

Xiaocao was picking chives, thinking about going back to her parents’ home tonight with her husband, who took a day off tomorrow.

She knew Xiaomi had returned, but she also knew that Sister Xiaoxue’s wedding was approaching, so Xiaomi probably didn’t have time to play with her.

Her husband’s side was also busy at the shop, and getting a day off was difficult, so she planned to go back tonight, spend a day with Xiaomi tomorrow, and rush back at night.

In this way, she could spend the whole day with Xiaomi without delaying her husband going back to the restaurant.

After all, earning a living is important, and moreover, her husband said that they should strive to earn more money in the next couple of years so that they could buy a small courtyard in the town when the child grew older.

Regardless of whether it’s a boy or a girl, there are more places to learn things in town—the boy could study, and the girl could learn embroidery or baking. ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

She had tasted pastries made by the maid of Sister Xiaoxue’s future brother-in-law, which were delicious, even better than the most expensive pastries in town,

and she heard that those pastries in town might not be available even with money.

And Sister Xiaoxue, Xiaomi had mentioned, a piece of embroidery could sell for anywhere from dozens of taels to a thousand taels of silver.

It earned more than Xiaomi did from hunting.

For the sake of their children learning more skills in the future so they could live a more comfortable life when they grow up, the couple seriously considered it.

Of course, Xiaocao also promised her husband that when she got pregnant, she would stay home and nurture the pregnancy without doing anything reckless.

Once the child was a month old, she planned to train herself properly to go hunting in the mountains again as soon as possible and earn money together.

As for who would take care of the child, that was not a concern.

Although others said the mother-in-law and the two sisters-in-law were domineering, difficult to get along with, and liked to take advantage, she thought it was okay.

Liking to take advantage was fine; as long as they took good care of the family, it was alright to give them some benefits. Anyway, if they liked to take advantage, she could feel at ease, which was good.

When she could hunt, even if it was just catching two rabbits in the mountains, everyone would vie to help look after the child.

By then, just make sure to feed the child before leaving, and don’t spend too long in the mountains.

Thinking about her good friend Xiaomi and pondering over her future plans, Xiaocao suddenly heard someone calling her while she was daydreaming,

paused for a moment, the voice sounded so familiar.

After realizing who it was, she immediately lifted her head, delighting in surprise: ”Xiaomi! What are you doing here!”

She immediately got up, wanting to run over to Xiaomi.

Xiaomi was also shocked when Xiaocao stood up and saw her big belly, her face instantly turning pale: ”Don’t move, don’t move, just stay there, don’t move!”

Xiaocao, who had just lifted her skirt, obediently stood still and looked at her, puzzled: ”What?”

Xiaomi handed the reins to Wei Ziang, jogged over, and held Xiaocao back down: ”You are pregnant, why aren’t you more careful?”

Xiaocao laughed heartily: ”Look at you, how worried you are, I’m not that fragile, and besides, I’m only five or six months along, many pregnant women still work in the fields at five or six months.”

Xiaomi wouldn’t listen to that: ”That’s because those people don’t care about pregnant women. If you don’t take care of them when they’re pregnant, it’s clearly because they don’t care about the mother and the child.”

After Xiaocao sat down again, Xiaomi casually pulled over a stool and sat down: ”Are you home alone? Where are your mother-in-law and the others?”

”It’s the busy farming season these days, isn’t it? Everyone is working in the fields, I’m just here helping with the meal preparation.”

At this point, she finally saw Wei Ziang, who was untying the things on the horse’s back, so many of them, obviously brought specifically for her.

”It’s enough that you’re here to see me, why bring so many things? I was going to say that I’ll go back to my parents’ place with my husband when he returns tonight, and then play with you tomorrow, didn’t expect you to come first.”

Xiaomi laughed cheekily: ”We have a mutual understanding, don’t we? It’s so hot, you’d better not run around, take care of yourself during the pregnancy.”

Maybe it was the pregnancy; Xiaomi felt that the current Xiaocao seemed to have more of a maternal air than before, not the little girl she once was.

At this time, a group of people returned from afar, carrying hoes and baskets, men and women, and even a few children.

Seeing Xiaomi look over, Xiaocao explained: ”That’s my mother-in-law and two elder brothers and sisters-in-law, with their children. My husband is the youngest in the family and probably rushed back knowing you came.”

Xiaomi nodded: ”When we came, we specifically asked villagers for directions.”

Xiaocao looked at Xiaomi with a smile: ”I’ve heard, Uncle Jiang is now a Marquis, right? My husband said a Marquis is a level above a Earl.”

After all, since the Jiang family’s stronghold was still in Xiangmu Village, and with Xiaoxue and Liu Ze’s wedding, the elevation in rank was naturally publicized well by Liu Hongcai.

Xiaomi lifted her chin: ”Exactly, from now on, with a Marquis’s daughter like me protecting you, no one would dare bully you.”

As she spoke, the few people fully entered the courtyard and clearly heard Xiaomi’s boastful self-introduction.

They instantly shuddered, and an old woman quickly ran over: ”So, it is indeed the Marquis’s daughter, a commoner greets the Miss.”

She was about to kneel when Wei Ziang quickly caught her:

”Auntie, no need for such ceremony, we’re just here to visit the second girl.”

”Second girl?”

The old woman looked confused, what second girl?

Xiaocao also paused for a moment, then belatedly pointed at her nose: ”Little brother, you mean me by second girl?”

Because of her good relationship with Xiaomi, she also called Wei Ziang ’little brother’ along with Xiaomi and Wei.
