Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 661: Chapter 433: Continuing

Early the next morning, Wei Ziang and Xiaomi got up.

Wei Ziang was expected, but Xiaomi waking up this early and joining everyone for breakfast was a rare sight.

Just after finishing breakfast, the two of them grabbed bows, arrows, and daggers, hopped on their horses, and took off, claiming they’d return early in the afternoon.

Nobody could stop them.

The daggers they used were bayonets, which Wei Ziang found very handy, seldom even using the weaponry given by the court.

However, Wei Ziang rummaged through Xiaomi’s space and found two swords without edges, made entirely of steel.

He planned to sharpen the swords and report to General Song, so they could replace the bayonets.

It’s undeniable that the weapons they currently used were far inferior in material compared to those in Xiaomi’s space. ℯℯ𝘭.

Even the finest wrought iron couldn’t compete with a random weapon from Xiaomi’s space.

But Xiaomi mentioned that the items in her space weren’t easy to come by and were well-made, owing to advanced industrial levels.

However, these are topics for later; he needs to learn weapon forging and get coal before these things can be done.

Currently, the two had Ling’er help them with a map, marking the places they visited yesterday.

When leaving Anning Village, Xiaomi stored the bows and arrows.

As for hunting, they could retrieve some game from the space when heading home in the evening, which was very convenient.

The two quickly marked out yesterday’s visited locations and rode towards unexplored areas, continuing their potato planting adventure.

Xiaomi even suggested that when Wei Ziang returned, she would pack a sack of potatoes for him to plant along the roadside woods on the way back.

All in all, there were tens of thousands of kilos of potatoes in the space, and they’d never run out no matter how much they planted.

After a busy morning, they finally found a spot to rest and took out the meal Ling’er had prepared. Xiaomi took a sip of the chilled fruit juice.

”Exhausted. I should have planted some when we were in Xiangmu Village and Fu’an Village, oh, and in Nanyang Prefecture too.”

That way, once the potatoes were promoted, everyone would find them everywhere.

”Is this green tangerine? It’s sour but quite refreshing.”

The beautiful glass cup contained ice cubes, honey, green tangerine, and lemon, with Spiritual Spring water poured over, making it cool and thirst-quenching.

Xiaomi nodded, ”There are plenty of fruit trees in the space. When we return this afternoon, let’s bring back two green tangerine and lemon seedlings and say we found them in the mountains.”

Wei Ziang nodded in agreement.

For lunch, Ling’er made them steaks, not from stored stock but using freshly slaughtered yak meat, cut from the tenderest parts, beaten soft, and marinated.

Knowing their high energy consumption and large appetite, each had two steaks, a serving of mashed potatoes, and a bowl of creamy mushroom soup.

Besides the fruit iced drinks, they each got two slices of watermelon, quite a sumptuous meal.

In the woods, they set up a small table and two stools, enjoying their meal.

”Buddy, next time you’re on vacation, I’ll prepare two baskets of grapes and beef by the roadside woods in advance. Ling’er will notify you, and you can say you bought them in the city.”

Wei Ziang nodded, ”Alright, I’ll ride two horses, with one dedicated to carrying stuff.”

Xiaomi ate two slices of watermelon, looked at the seeds, and decided to bury them in the ground, pouring a bit of Spiritual Spring water over them.

Seeing this, Wei Ziang shook his head, ”It’s too far, watering would be inconvenient.”

It’s already July, and the heat makes it hard to grow without Spiritual Spring water.

”It’s fine, each month when you return, we can check these spots and plant some seeds on nearby slopes when heading home.”

There are no watermelons here yet. Watermelons initially didn’t look like this; they were gradually developed by agricultural experts over time.

If watermelons could be grown, they’d surely be even more popular than grapes, given their size and high yield.

Thinking about this, Xiaomi felt a bit regretful, ”I should’ve scattered seeds all over the mountains long ago, so I wouldn’t have to wait years for promotion now.”

Wei Ziang finished eating and started gathering the plates.

Hearing her complaints, he couldn’t help but shake his head, ”I think it’s fine. You were too young back then, without enough self-protection ability. Being too conspicuous might have drawn unwanted attention.”

Xiaomi pouted, ”But I have the space. You always said if we met bad people, we’d just run away together.”

Wei Ziang countered, ”How would you run then?”

Uh, Xiaomi was momentarily speechless. Indeed, her swordsmanship only began to show promise over the last two years, unable to protect herself, let alone others.

With this realization, she nodded, ”Right, there’s still time. Ling’er told me that while Spiritual Spring water can’t bring the dead to life, it can extend longevity with long-term use.”

This means they have plenty of time, no rush.

Knowing Wei Ziang wouldn’t enter the space alone, Xiaomi didn’t press him, packing away the table and chairs, and setting up two camp beds under the shade for a nap.

Not tired, Wei Ziang asked Xiaomi for a book to read, anything would do, letting her rest.

When Xiaomi woke up, they continued planting potatoes all over.

Lucky for them, they discovered a small herd of wild goats and a large buffalo, possibly weighing a thousand or two pounds.

The two stood on the mountain, eyeing the scene with interest.

”Bro, there’s a nose ring on the buffalo. Could it belong to someone?”

”Probably not. If it were domestic, it would be tethered, and there’s no village nearby.”

They’d come across some villages and towns during their excursion, but people were few and far between.

”True, could it have wandered off and gone wild?”

Xiaomi pondered the possibility of capturing it.

Wei Ziang was surveying the surrounding environment.

”Very likely, and it seems they’ve been out here for a long time. Let’s get closer, and you can collect them all into the space. Tomorrow, when I return to the city, I’ll see if I can buy a cow.”

Xiaomi loved filling her space with various creatures, already having a dozen yaks but no buffaloes.

So, the two decided to take both the wild goats and the buffalo!
