Strongest Lord by Opening Blind Boxes

Chapter 117: Chapter 117: A Powerful Soldier Has Spawned

Eggshell Village. Behind Eggshell Castle, in the Peach Blossom Forest.

Wang Yi stared blankly at the sixty-to-seventy-meter-tall ”giant Toilet.” It felt as if ten thousand alpacas were stampeding through his mind.

Standing beside him was Hai Zhongxian. This ruthless and vicious Imperial Palace Expert stood there expressionlessly and respectfully, ready to receive Wang Yi’s orders at any moment.

”Fucking hell, it’s taller than the watchtower at Shanhai Pass. Is this thing going to become the landmark of my Eggshell Village?”

Wang Yi muttered a few curses. After leaving the high-quality weapons factory, he had come straight here to build the ”Toilet House.” He never would have imagined it would be so enormous.

====

Name: Toilet House

Private Toilet Rooms: 1/60,000

Description: Generated from the enhancement and mutation of an ordinary toilet. For 1 Gold Coin, you can activate one toilet slot, up to a maximum of 60,000. Each slot is a deluxe private toilet room, equipped with a flush-free, self-cleaning, high-tech toilet, as well as essential facilities such as a shower, lighting, a sink, and a mirror. It can accommodate up to 60,000 people using the facilities at the same time.

Instruction 1: To use the facility, first find and press any ”Use Toilet” button. Wait for a private room to be assigned and arrive in front of you. Second, enter the room and relieve yourself. Third, when finished, press the ”Exit” button, and the room door will open automatically.

Instruction 2: This is a modern, eco-friendly facility powered by free energy. It can significantly increase the territory’s environmental index.

’Dammit, they made a public toilet this fancy. Then again, public restrooms are essential infrastructure. You can take them for granted, but you can’t just ignore them. The setup for these private rooms isn’t bad, either. They even have showers. At least people can get cleaned up...’

Wang Yi suddenly thought that having a Toilet House like this wasn’t so bad after all.

In truth, Eggshell Village’s infrastructure was severely lacking, and its sanitary conditions weren’t great. The latrines were just dry pits with no real planning, so many villagers preferred to relieve themselves in the wild.

It sounds crude, but that was the reality of the situation.

’With this Toilet House that can serve sixty thousand people at once, the sanitary conditions in Eggshell Village should get a little better. Still, I need to focus on pushing forward with infrastructure development from now on...,’

After a moment of thought, Wang Yi stepped forward to investigate.

There were many red buttons on the exterior of the Toilet House. These were the ”Use Toilet” buttons, and each one corresponded to an ”elevator door.”

Wang Yi casually picked a button and pressed it. He only had to wait three seconds before the elevator door in front of him opened. Inside was the single currently active private toilet room, its interior modern, clean, and tidy.

After a quick look around, Wang Yi stepped out and pressed a different ”Use Toilet” button. Again, he waited three seconds. The automatic door for that button opened, and the single private toilet room had been transferred over to this new location.

’So the private toilet rooms can move around freely inside the Toilet House? That’s pretty interesting.’

Wang Yi spent 299 Gold Coins to activate another 299 private toilet rooms. Then he turned to Hai Zhongxian beside him and said, ”Old Hai, you don’t have any soldiers under your command yet, so I’ll have to trouble you for a bit. Help me promote the Toilet House.”

”This old servant... how should I promote it?”

”Simple. Just catch anyone you see relieving themselves in public. For every person you grab, force-feed them a Piyao Pill and sentence them to seven days of dung-collecting. Then, tell them about the Toilet House and that they should come here to do their business. That should get the word out. Here are 200 Piyao Pills. Take them and get started.”

”This old servant... obeys your will!”

Hai Zhongxian accepted the Piyao Pills, bowed with a grim expression, and withdrew.

Wang Yi, however, was already pondering how to staff the Brocade Guard for his Eastern Depot. After giving it some thought, he still felt Feng Yuxiu was the most suitable candidate.

’Perhaps I could split Feng Yuxiu’s squad in two. There’s no rush, though. I can figure it out slowly.’

Wang Yi gave the Toilet House one last glance, then turned and left.

A moment later, Wang Yi arrived at the First Dining Hall. With a wave of his hand, he released a flood of potatoes that covered the floor.

”Cuihua! Hai Shen! Come on, bring over the Spiritual Artifact rice cookers and refine these potatoes!”

Wang Yi had traded for ten tons of potatoes from Ye Qitian at the Free Market. He figured there was no way they could eat them all anytime soon, so he decided to set some aside for planting and cooking, and just refine the vast majority into Fasting Pills.

Fasting Pills could basically be considered a type of ration, and it was never a bad idea to have a large stockpile.

Soon, Wang Yi discovered that one pot of potatoes could yield four or five Fasting Pills.

’One pot of potatoes is about ten jin, right? Good heavens, this Pill Formation Rate is extremely high! Refining Fasting Pills like this massively increases the food’s utility value!’

Wang Yi immediately realized that Fasting Pills were a miracle medicine capable of saving countless lives.

If a famine broke out somewhere, a batch of Fasting Pills could solve the problem completely.

As for famines, from what Wang Yi had seen and heard since he transmigrated, they seemed to be a common occurrence. There were likely many villages just like Stone Village and Huangni Village.

The situation felt somewhat polarized. Take Kaiyuan County, for example. He hadn’t seen much fertile farmland there, yet conditions were much better; people could even eat plenty of fish and meat.

Wang Yi suspected the reason for this wasn’t just a difference in productivity. It was probably the result of the system’s monitoring—or rather, its modifications.

Logically speaking, villages like Stone Village and Huangni Village, with their beautiful scenery and pleasant climates, should have been able to survive by hunting and fishing even if they couldn’t grow grain. At the very least, raising grass-fed cattle and sheep should have been possible.

But in reality, wild animals were extremely rare, there were almost no fish in the water, and their livestock simply wouldn’t reproduce.

In a Player’s territory, however, the situation seemed to improve. For instance, Wang Yi could now see sparrows and other small birds in Eggshell Village.

Wang Yi shook his head, pulling his thoughts back to the present. ’Fasting Pills are good stuff,’ he thought, ’but if it has no side effects, the Piyao Pill is something that should be widely promoted. Maybe even have the entire population take it. It would definitely improve sanitation, cut down on wasted time, and make life more efficient.’

In short, it was essential to mass-produce and stockpile both types of pills!

A moment later, Wang Yi called over more people to help refine the Fasting Pills.

Seven or eight tons of potatoes were quickly refined. Wang Yi put away the Spiritual Artifact rice cookers and took stock of the Fasting Pills. They had made a total of 7,245!

”This is enough to cover a month’s worth of rations for over seven thousand people! Fucking awesome!”

Wang Yi was ecstatic.

In reality, the main reason the Spiritual Artifact rice cookers had such a high Pill Formation Rate was that they consumed Spiritual Power. This Spiritual Power was infused into the Fasting Pills and Piyao Pills, giving them their extraordinary effects. Therefore, the production cost couldn’t be calculated based on the raw materials alone.

Of course, Wang Yi’s Spiritual Artifact rice cookers had an infinite power supply and didn’t require Spirit Stones, so this part of the cost was negligible for him.

Just then, Hu Fenqiu rushed into the First Dining Hall. Upon seeing Wang Yi, he yelled, ”Boss, something’s spawned! It’s spawned!”

”What spawned? Why are you in such a panic?”

Wang Yi sized up Hu Fenqiu. With Zhang Lengzi and Yang Qingniu in trouble and doing corrective labor in Huangni Village, and Zhang Mazha and Yang Dazhuang temporarily loaned out as bodyguards for Pei Zhi, the Civilian Militia was pretty much under Hu Fenqiu’s management.

Hu Fenqiu took two sharp breaths and said, ”A powerful Soldier spawned in the Octagonal Cage! We need support from an expert!”

”Oh? Which powerful Soldier?”

”The Fire Fire Evil God! General Nangong said he’s a Heroic Level fighter, with an appearance fee of 1,000 Gold Coins! Our two squad leaders are away doing corrective labor, Lord Man is off driving the train, and Gegeda is busy building a school. There are no experts on-site to handle this!”

”The Fire Fire Evil God? He’s called an ’Evil God,’ but he’s only a Heroic Level fighter?” Wang Yi said. ”Got it. I’ll head over and take a look. You, go find Eunuch Hai!”
