Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation

Chapter 645: Last days on the Caravan (6)

The man who was presiding over the final remained before the forty-five participants for several seconds, his eyes scanning each face with a silent assessment, allowing the anticipation to accumulate in the arena like a cloud about to burst.

The silence was absolute, broken only by the occasional sound of restrained breathing and the rustling of clothes as the competitors adjusted their positions.

Then he raised one of his hands, and a blindfold appeared between his fingers. It was completely different from an ordinary blindfold, an object that seemed to have come from an ancient era.

The fabric possessed a silvery, almost metallic hue, crossed by thin red lines that formed mysterious patterns across its surface, like the veins of a living body.

Small runes glowed along the edges, emitting a subtle yet extremely powerful energy that caused the air around them to vibrate at an almost imperceptible frequency.

Everyone present immediately turned their gazes toward the object, their attention captured by the promise of the challenge it represented.

The man spun the blindfold between his fingers, the silver fabric catching the light from the lanterns. Before beginning his explanation, his voice echoed through the arena with the clarity of a jade bell.

“The final test of the comprehension competition will be simple in principle.”

He paused, allowing the anticipation to settle.

“But extremely difficult to complete.”

The forty-five people became even more focused, their bodies leaning slightly forward, their eyes fixed on the elder.

“This blindfold was created over the course of hundreds of years specifically for this competition, which takes place every many years. Once put on, it will seal your movements and your basic senses.”

A murmur swept through the arena, voices rising in surprise and concern.

“Your eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and sense of touch will be sealed. Your spiritual sense will also be blocked. You will become prisoners of your own minds.”

The expressions of several participants changed, the shock evident on their faces.

“But your mind will remain free.” He raised a finger, emphasizing his words.

“And so will your Qi.”

This caused some cultivators to frown, their minds working to understand the logic behind the test. A young man in the first row discreetly raised his hand, his voice hesitant.

“Elder, how can we break the seal if we won’t even be able to move? Without movement, without senses, how can we interact with the seal?”

The man looked at him, his ancient eyes shining with a light of wisdom.

“By understanding.”

“Understanding… what?”

The elder did not answer, merely smiling slightly, a smile that carried the mystery of centuries.

“Find out.”

Silence returned. The explanation was obviously not enough. Some participants exchanged glances, trying to understand the true meaning of the test, their minds working in search of clues.

“You will have four hours.” The elder raised the blindfold, the fabric shining beneath the light.

“During this period, you will need to understand your own Qi and your own path well enough to break the seal.”

He then added, his voice firmer.

“When you manage to break it, the test will be complete.”

Before anyone could ask another question, forty-five silver blindfolds appeared simultaneously around the stage, materializing from the air like falling stars. In the next instant, they flew.

‘Whoosh!’ The blindfolds shot across the arena like arrows, each one finding exactly its corresponding participant with supernatural precision.

One stopped before Kyrian, hovering in the air for a moment before gently descending. He extended his hand, his fingers touching the cold fabric, feeling its metallic texture beneath his skin.

The moment he placed the blindfold over his eyes, a strange sensation coursed through his body, as if a wave of energy had passed through him, erasing everything in its path.

Everything disappeared.

His body became immobile. It was not simply an inability to move his muscles; it was as if every movement had been removed from his consciousness, as if the connection between his mind and body had been severed.

He could not lift a finger, could not turn his head, and could not consciously breathe. His ears became silent, an absolute void where the sounds of the arena had been before. There was no smell, no sensation of temperature, and no pressure of the air against his skin. It was as if the entire world had been ripped away from him.

Kyrian remained motionless, his mind observing the darkness that surrounded him.

However, there was something the device had failed to seal: his vision. His violet eyes continued to perceive everything perfectly, as if the blindfold were merely an illusion to his senses.

Kyrian opened and closed his eyes several times, testing the limits of that perception. The blindfold completely covered his physical vision, yet he could still see through it, the runes and patterns of the fabric revealed themselves as a transparent layer over his vision.

It was not difficult for him to understand the reason. His eyes were different, an anomaly that transcended the limitations of ordinary techniques.

But Kyrian showed no surprise, made no comment, did not raise his hand, and did not draw anyone’s attention. That could be an advantage, but that was not the objective of the test. He was far more interested in understanding the device, in unraveling its secrets.

‘Interesting.’ Kyrian observed the runes present on the blindfold, his eyes scanning each symbol with the precision of a scholar.

Even without being able to physically feel the fabric, his eyes could still observe its energy structure, countless lines of energy hidden within the device, intertwined like a spider’s web.

They connected to the body with extreme precision, forming a pattern that directly interfered with perception and the ability to control the body.

It was not a simple seal; it was a complex structure that required understanding to overcome.

But there was an opening: the Qi. Kyrian closed his eyes; he did not need vision. In fact, the less he depended on it, the better. His attention plunged completely inward, passing through layers of flesh and energy until it reached the center of his being.

His dantians were there, motionless, intact, pulsing with a light of their own. And, at that moment, something he could rarely perceive became extremely clear: his Qi.
