Life Simulator: Make the Female Demon Regret Her Life

140: Chapter 140 The Girl Cursed by the GodsSu Fan looked toward the source of the sound. On the altar, a girl dressed in plain clothes was bound to a wooden pillar by chains. Her hair was disheveled, obscuring her face, and there was a crimson bloodstain on her left foot, from which blood was slowly oozing.

”Burn her! Burn her!” someone in the crowd continued to shout loudly.

Su Fan tapped the shoulder of the middle-aged man beside him and asked in confusion, ”Hey, why do you say she is an evil girl cursed by the Gods?”

The man with a sweat towel wrapped around his head turned to look at him. ”Little brother, have you never heard of the legend of the Blood Moon?”

”The Crimson Moon that appears every fifty years?”

”That’s right. Not only does the Blood Moon appear, but the Gods also descend their punishment on the night of the Blood Moon. Cities that do not sacrifice an evil girl will be punished by the God of Calamity on the night the Blood Moon appears, and everyone will be burned to death by fire...”

The man said this with a look of terror. Then, he energetically waved his fists and shouted along with everyone else, ”Burn her! Burn her!”

Su Fan was a bit confused. What God of Calamity? Who is the God of Calamity?

”The vessel of the God of Calamity must be purified!”

On the altar, the priest in ceremonial robes shook his wide sleeves and began frantically ringing a bell, muttering incantations incessantly...

Spiderweb-like, tiny blood vessels suddenly appeared beneath the girl’s snow-white skin on her neck.

Seeing this strange phenomenon, the crowd immediately began to clamor again: ”Burn her! Burn her!”

But Su Fan was baffled. What did ”vessel of the God of Calamity” even mean?

”Father...” The girl coughed up blood foam. Beneath her disheveled hair, half of her fair face was revealed, and a miserable smile appeared at the corners of her lips. ”I am finally going to meet you...”

The priest finally finished chanting. He waved his hand and called up two strong men.

The two men carried up a huge brazier, in which a raging fire was burning.

”Burn her! Burn her!” The onlookers became even more excited, with almost everyone waving their arms and shouting!!

Even until now, Su Fan didn’t understand what crime this woman had committed or why everyone wanted to burn her.

He had just asked a few people, and they only said she was cursed by the Gods and had to be burned, otherwise the whole city would suffer...

Seeing that the execution was about to begin, the crowd became even more excited, restless, and shouting loudly.

Just then, a person was seen running over from not far away, pushing through the crowd, and roaring, ”Wait! Wait!!”

Everyone looked toward the loud-voiced person, and Su Fan looked too.

This person was a bearded monk-doctor with a blind left eye, and his beard was red.

In Fusang Country, the status of a monk-doctor seemed to be very high. The appearance of this person made everyone feel surprised, and the execution ceremony paused.

”Red Beard, what did you just say? Wait? Do you know that interrupting the divine punishment ceremony will incur divine wrath?” The priest looked at the Red Beard monk-doctor with a displeased face.

The Red Beard monk-doctor walked onto the altar, pointed at the girl who was hung up, and said to everyone, ”Everyone, she is my patient! She is a girl who has lost her mind! She is not someone cursed by the Gods. Quickly let her down; I want to take her back for treatment!”

”Red Beard! Stop making trouble!!” The priest glared at him. ”She is someone cursed by the Gods. Look at the Blood Moon mark on her ankle; isn’t that enough proof?”

The Red Beard monk-doctor said, ”This is just a birthmark. She just lost her mind and accidentally injured someone severely. It is too cruel to treat her with fire torture...”

”Red Beard, I warn you as a priest, don’t think that just because you are a doctor who has saved some people, you can spread heresy here! She is cursed by the Gods and must be burned today...” The priest glared at the Red Beard monk-doctor, gnashing his teeth.

The crowd under the altar seemed to have run out of patience and were eagerly shouting to burn the girl!

”Execute!” Just after the priest gave the order, the Red Beard monk-doctor shouted, ”She just lost her mind!”, and prepared to rush to the wooden pillar to save her... but he was blocked by several strong men.

The Red Beard monk-doctor’s martial arts skills were quite good; he knocked down these few strong men in a few moves.

But just then, the priest made a move. He seemed to have the cultivation of the second or third level of Qi Refining, and with a light push, he pushed the Red Beard monk-doctor two or three zhang away...

”Continue the execution!” Seeing that the girl was about to be burned, the Red Beard monk-doctor shouted in grief and indignation, ”You are harming the innocent!!”

But facing so many people blocking him, even if he wanted to save the girl, he was powerless...

Just then, he saw a figure fly over from the crowd, then kick the execution pillar to pieces, and land slowly while holding the girl...

”Ah, this...” Everyone present was stunned.

[You land slowly while holding the girl. Her body feels ice-cold, and you cannot feel a trace of warmth. Her disheveled hair falls to the sides, revealing a stunning face, like a cherry blossom blooming in the early morning, delicate and charming, exuding a strange gentleness and beauty...]

[However, she currently has her eyes closed, as if she had fainted long ago. Her long, slender eyelashes flutter gently, and her lips move slightly, as if she is still whispering something...]

[The priest and the onlookers all point at you and curse, saying that you have offended the Gods and that divine punishment will descend upon the entire city!]

[They even intend to come forward and besiege you...]

[You casually cast a Spell, destroying the entire altar, and this time everyone shuts their mouths...]

[You hold the girl and walk to the Red Beard monk-doctor, asking him to take you to a clinic. Red Beard tells you that he has no clinic, only a dilapidated temple with a sign for a sanatorium, which takes in some old, weak, and sick patients and treats them for free.]

[However, seeing that you saved the girl, he is very willing to take you to that sanatorium.]

Matsushita Sanatorium.

”Su-san, thank you very much for saving my patient.”

Red Beard recounted the girl’s medical history to Su Fan, ”Speaking of which, this child is pitiful. She lost her mother when she was young. I met her father three years ago and was a good friend of his. At that time, she was only fifteen, a lively girl. Last year, her father passed away mysteriously...”

”And she also began to go crazy for no reason, holding a katana and injuring a neighbor...”

”The authorities began to hunt her down, and she fled for a year. Just a few days ago, she suddenly returned home, seemingly to search for some of her father’s belongings...”

”She was chased by government soldiers again and unintentionally fled to this temple... Oh, this was originally an abandoned temple. I turned it into a sanatorium five years ago... According to my diagnosis, Shaya has lost her mind...”

”What did you say her name was?” Su Fan placed the girl in his arms on a simple bed and asked Red Beard.

Red Beard looked at him, ”Shaya, Miyamoto Saya.”
