Paragon Of Sin

Chapter 1977 Chapter 1969: Calculation of Merit & Gains (2)

A world of black. There was no horizon. There was no Solar Star. There were no clouds. There was no wind. Only grandiose, skyscrapers walls of black that slightly differentiated themselves from the rest of the world. Each wall exuded an oppressive gravitational pull. Any ordinary mortal would find their limbs pulled taut, stretched and forced in place.

At the center of this world was a mountain-sized cubicle altar, etched with the golden character of ʼOrderʼ at the top of its four faces-the Order Spirit Altar. The variant of the War Spirit Altar.

ʼThis world seems to be an inverse of that location. Strange,ʼ Wei Wuyinʼs memories of entering that completely white space and obtaining his merit surfaced with nostalgia. He was ʼblindʼ at the time, yet the experience was unforgettable.

”Commander of Order!” A booming voice, androgynous and dissonance-inducing, thundered across the world as he stood atop the altar.

”Heh!” Kratos smugly grunted. It was unaffected entirely. Back then, the Heavenly War Spirit had unleashed its disorienting voice that caused Kratos to feel challenged, for whatever reason. During that time, Kratos was determined to exert its usefulness after a sequence of disheartening developments. In retaliation, it exposed Athena as a young girl due to her voice.

Chuckling, Wei Wuyin silently applauded Kratosʼ efforts. However, its next words caused Wei Wuyin to be taken aback.

”This person isnʼt like Athena. I feel the thriving vitality of a living existence,” Kratos deduced via its senses.

ʼNot a Spirit of Dao?ʼ Wei Wuyin had already determined that Athena was a Heavenly Daospark, valued at 5,000,000 War Souls, and he had expected to meet a similar Spirit of Dao, perhaps the Last Daospark that was whispered in rumors. Unfortunately, that didnʼt seem to be the case.

”This might become complicated,” Magus broke away from its development of the library, solemnly paying close attention after Kratosʼ discovery. Wei Wuyin agreed; his cultivation base quietly primed itself for immediate activation, and all five Mystic Souls placed their other tasks to the wayside, focusing here and only here.

”You have summoned the Envoy of Order to advance your pathway! You shall be promoted from the Inner Stellar Battlefield to the Outer Stellar Battlefield. Your merits will be calculated, and your War Souls will be given accordingly. Do you have any objections?” The Envoy of Order spoke with practiced authority, and if one waded through the disorientation of its voice, it was of a mature man with a soft reverb to his rich and robust voice.

”None,” Wei Wuyin observed the area for a list. There was none. He didnʼt mind, since his merits had yet to be calculated.

As if reading from a script that had been memorized over a thousand times, the Envoy of Order announced: ”Commander of Order, hear my proclamations of your glorious meri-huh? How is this possible?!”

Wei Wuyin laughed a little, ”Can we skip that part.” The proclamations of merit was listing the extensive list of achievements performed during the battlefield. Considering that he had singlehandedly led a war against 2,999 zones, his merits would likely have a single merit for each, and then the victories, the products he created, the individuals he defeated, and so, so much more. He could stay here and probably not finish the listing in two days.

”I-I...” The voice was staggered. Unlike Athena, whose duty was carried out diligently and without too much emotion, this person was a living breathing individual, so the shock was bound to be massive, including the subsequent suspicions that would develop. ”I need to check something,” the Envoy of Order said before fading.

Wei Wuyin stood above the cubical altar and remained idle. However, he was fully prepared to deal with any sudden developments. After an hour, the Envoy of Order returned. Then, out of nowhere, he asked:

”Commander of Order, may I ask you for proof of your Creationist tier?” The Envoy of Orderʼs question was expected.

Wei Wuyin smiled, not hiding his cultivation as his Alchemic Stars of Unparalleled Creation gradually transformed into the Alchemic Stars of Pure Enlightenment, the fourth-tier of Alchemic Stars development, surpassing Mortal Spirituality, Spiritual Transcendence, and Transcendent Purity. After successfully concocting a Transcendent Mystic-World grade product, his level had ascended accordingly.

If he concocted Transcendent Mystic-Heaven grade products, he felt that his Alchemic Stars might advance yet again.

”Pu-pur-pure Enlightement!” The Envoy of Order was stuttering in abject disbelief.

”Is that sufficient evidence?” Wei Wuyinʼs body grew quiet, entering a state of readied calm. He didnʼt know what to expect after confirmation. However, after the Envoy of Order went silent for a full minute, he returned with a pious tone, no longer activating the dissonance distorting effect.

”Lord Sovereign Supreme, it is my greatest honor to serve you. How can I assist you?” The reverential respect was as earnest as could be. There was no interrogation or tone of superiority. Simply a quiet acceptance.

This caused Wei Wuyin to contemplate this unexpected development, especially the referral as ʼSovereign Supremeʼ. Was that the unique title given to those at the alchemical level of Mystic-Soul? He felt that the title ʼSovereignʼ was reserved to those whoʼve touched the peak of a Level, such as Mortal Sovereign Alchemist. While backwards, the Mystic Dao and the Mortal Dao werenʼt an exact replica of each other, but they certainly had similarities.

”Tally my merits. Show me the list for the Stellar Battlefield,” Wei Wuyin ordered.

”Of course,” the Envoy of Order was diligent. It didnʼt even need to be reminded to skip the merit declaration, directly announcing the Stellar-grade War Souls awarded for his merit. ”You have earned: 4,656,656 War Souls!”

Wei Wuyin nodded. ʼAs I thought, to acquire enough War Souls to obtain a Heavenly War Spirit, one has to do stupendously well to an almost impossible degree. Not even conquering an entire Inner Battlefield was enough. I wonder if the Ascendant Battlefieldʼs Heavenly War Spirit was claimed recently, and thatʼs why the rumors began to spread that the last Heavenly War Spirit was located within the Galactic Battlefield.ʼ Theorizing this likely possibility, Wei Wuyin saw the displayed list for the Soldier and Commander rewards.

There was no Champion section. However, there were numerous Concoction Methods, Cultivation Methods, Alchemical Products, Essence of War, and a large variety of other materials. A quick calculation and he could obtain everything on the list, many of which can be doubled.

He didnʼt hold back.

When he exchanged his stellar-grade War Souls to the Envoy of Order, he was blessed with spatial shifting of countless items and materials. These things were highly valuable to his fledgling and growing empire.

”Iʼm finished,” Wei Wuyin announced.

”Of course, Lord Supreme Sovereign!” The Envoy of Order said respectfully, not seeming to have found any issue with his acquisition of all these resources. There were no questions either, stirring Wei Wuyinʼs heart. Could this Envoy of Order not determine his cultivation? Or did he think he was possessed? A Supreme Existence just having fun?

Wei Wuyin didnʼt know. And quite frankly, he was unable to muster any ability to care about it at all about these conclusion-hopping or misunderstanding-accepting individuals.

”Oh,” Wei Wuyin decided to take advantage of this reverence, asking outright: ”Has the Heavenly War Spirit, the Daospark for the Stellar Battlefield and Ascendant Battlefield been taken?”

”Oh?” As if enlightened, the Envoy of Order promptly answered, adding additional details: ”Yes, Lord Sovereign Supreme! They were taken within months of each other. At the moment, many of the Galactic Battlefield Participants are seeking to accumulate enough War Souls to purchase the last available Heavenly War Spirit located. According to what Iʼve heard amongst other Envoys, they wonʼt be replaced for another million years.”

”I see,” Wei Wuyinʼs theory was verified instantly.

”Shall I send a request to reserve the Heavenly War Spirit for you?” The Envoy of Order asked.

”Reserve?” Wei Wuyin mused with a hum. But when he thought about it, if his understanding of the Heavenly War Spirit was true, and considering the fourth-level was acquired by concocting a Transcendent Mystic-Rank product with the aspects of eternity imbued within, then Soul Saint Alchemists and their respective Mystic-Soul grade products were tailored to peak Resonant Soul Realm cultivators. If so... ”No need,” Wei Wuyin didnʼt reserve the Heavenly War Spirit, mostly because his instincts told him doing so would invite great troubles. This was two-fold, natural and from the Heavenly Daos. Only a few times have they coincided so well.

5he Soldier and Commanded list of the Inner & Outer Battlefields were the same, and the only exception was the Nexus Battlefieldʼs Champion List, he lost further interest after using over two million War Souls and keeping them all within his developing Primordial Expanse. With two million Stellar-grade War Souls remaining, he could exchange them for Ascendant-grade War Souls.

He didnʼt want to spend too much time lingering here. The Ascendant Battlefield awaits. But...before venturing to that battlefield, it was about time he met a few important companions that had enjoyed their time here before he

ventured off.

How were they doing?
