Paragon Of Sin

1846 Chapter 1839: Final Act (13)

”The Edict Potion!”

The utterance of the name elicited feverish emotions in the hearts of the younger generation blessed to be present, capable of viewing this incredible clash of galactic titans as they fought with wit, tricks, and skill.

For the briefest moment, Wei Wuyinʼs brows furrowed into a frown before relaxing. This was caught by all those observing him, and they immediately understood his feelings. If Wei Wuyin was using the self-mutilating trick to acquire a free round, then the Zeniths were similarly ruthless.

After all, Wei Wuyin wasnʼt a Heavenly Saint Alchemist! And with the All-Alchemic Clash preventing the assistance of helpers, concocting products beyond oneʼs skill alone was an insidious difficult task. While no one was saying that Wei Wuyin couldnʼt concoct a Mystic-Heaven grade product, especially given the reveal of his Soul Pill earlier, they could confidently say that Wei Wuyin was unable to do so alone.

If Wei Wuyin had the skill to concoct a Mystic-Heaven grade product by relying solely on himself, then he would be Heaven-Saint Neo-Dawn, not World-Saint Neo-Dawn! The Alchemic Dao would have long since recognized his ability and efforts, blessing him for his ability, a blessing that could be discovered from various divinations with ease.

”The Edict Potion!” Hao Chengxue raved with excitement, ”What an extraordinary selection! Not only is it fair to all participants, but it was notoriously one of the products most known by everyone equally!”

Luo Ning frowned slightly.

Tianshi Ya glanced her way before expanding on Hao Chengxueʼs comment: ”Our Utmost Purity Galaxyʼs Alchemic Dao has the four heavenly alchemical treasures, yielded as the foundation of our strength. These arenʼt true treasures, but alchemical products of our tradition that are revered as the most impactful throughout our history. They were the most widely sold products of the Mystic-Heaven grade within the Holy Void of Fortune, and the seed of countless Sages, Mystic Overlords, and Original Magistrates.

”Theyʼre regarded as the Treasures of Fortune, one for each type of alchemical product: The Soul Pill, the Edict Potion, the Void Pellet, and the Mystical Paste—also known as the Incense of Mysticism.”
Hao Chengxue nodded energetically as he jumped in, ”As you know, the Soul Pill is the treasure that every Sage would challenge the heavens for. By consuming a Soul Pill, a Sage can have a chance to enlighten themselves by awakening their True Soul, act as an impetus to become a Supreme Sage, or be used to consolidate the soul foundation of Supreme Sages! Its three effects make it an extraordinary treasure! Any cultivator who obtained it would be blessed with great fortune!”

Mei Xiaoyang followed up with a gentle and calm voice, not infused with incredibly explosive energy like Hao Chengxue, demonstrating an image of a cool beauty, ”The Edict Potion, Void Pellet, and Mystical Paste make up our four Treasures of Fortune.

”The Mystical Paste is often made into an incense, and then can be used to commune with the unfathomable, allowing cultivators to glimpse into the greater secrets of the Ways of Mysticism. The greatest achievement that it had accomplished was allowing a mortal to become a Mystic Overlord through serendipitous enlightenment within nine years. Not only had the person grasped all nine Ways of Mysticism, but they also established all nine Mystic Runes as a foundation and acquired a natural World Rune.

”When they became a Sage, they condensed NINE True Breaths of a Sage, becoming unprecedentedly powerful.” Mei Xiaoyangʼs calm voice was betrayed by her increasingly bright eyes as her breathing became somewhat infected by an unknown energy of desire and envy.

Tianshi Ya, however, doused her excitement. ”Their abrupt advancements were extraordinary to witness, and they were exceptional as a Sage, but despite utilizing their entire lifespan, they failed to enter the Resonant Soul Realm. They had an extraordinary sequence of enlightenment, and their cultivation foundation was extraordinary, but their true foundation was pathetically low as they had never won against any true Sage.”

”...” Hao Chengxue and Mei Xiaoyang.

That was indeed right! Despite reaching the heavens with a single product, their foundation was incredibly pathetic! After all, these cultivated foundations can pale in comparison to Intent, Laws, Heavenly Treasures, Cultivation Methods, Ascension Arts, Spiritual Spells, strength of physique, quality of physique, Sea of Consciousness, energy reserves, purity of essence and blood, accumulated combat experience, mental fortification from setbacks and successes. As someone handed everything, they had lost everything else.

More importantly, their Heart of Cultivation was far too fragile!

If the cultivation level of a cultivator was the only thing that defined strength, then Wei Wuyin would have never triumphed over Enlightened Sage Springfield or Long Shiya!

Seeing that she had destroyed Mei Xiaoyangʼs delusions of reaching the heavens in a single step, Tianshi Ya was a little satisfied. She continued, ”The Void Pellet is an escape pellet. Not even a Supreme Sage can stop someone from using it to escape. It opens a tear in the Void and shuttles one through it. It is extraordinary, and there have been some wondrous stories regarding it.”

Hao Chengxue saw Mei Xiaoyangʼs deflated look and tried to console her with a few words before returning to his duties. It did little good, however. ”One of the interesting stories was a Sage that went into the Void and then the past—ugh!” Upon reaching this point, a strange power constricted Hao Chengxueʼs throat with ruthless strength. He choked on his words, holding his throat in agony.

”These wonderful stories are not meant for common ears. Not everyone is like you and I, World-Saint Dustpath.” Tianshi Ya reminded as she looked outwards to find a murderous intent bearing down on Hao Chengxue for overzealously speaking taboo. And Tianshi Ya reminded him that youths were listening, their cultivation bases far too low to be privy to these secrets.

Hacking in wads of precious air with great relief, Hao Chengxue felt as if he had been given a second life.

The three treasures were extraordinary, especially the Mystical Paste.

And the Edict Potion was not anything less amazing.

”The Edict Potion is just as extraordinary as an Edict Seed! If not, a little better.” Mei Xiaoyang claimed with a reverential tone.

”A little better?” Tianshi Ya interrupted with dissatisfaction. ”The Edict Potion is far, far, far better than an Edict Seed.”

”An Edict Seed? What does an Edict Potion do?” Luo Ning asked with an innocently ignorant expression.

Tianshi Ya beautifully smiled, ”An Edict Potion can generate a genuine Edict of the Sage. Unlike an Edict Seed which is the quintessential energy fragment of one of the Heavenly Realms of Law, the Edict of the Sage is a miraculous natural phenomenon. Original Magistrates, Mystic Overlords, and Sages can artificially create them through significant sacrifice of their cultivation base and lifespan.

”It creates a link to a Realm of Law, known as the Heavenly Resonance of the Three Thousand Realms that even mortals can use to grasp Seeds of Law far before their time. They usually fail. Out of a thousand attempts, typically not even a single one succeeds. Itʼs far too risky and most refused to pay the cost without any guarantees. Unless they love their descendants or owe a great life debt.

”The Edict Potion can summon a natural Edict of the Sage without fail, and for any Law. Whether it be Time or Fire, it could connect with a single realm freely. More importantly, the link will remain in constant connection, providing incessant nurturing during its early, mid, and later stages that Edict Seeds pales in comparison to. After all, Edict Seeds have a limited amount of energy given their fragmented nature. An Edict Potion wasnʼt just better than an Edict Seed but vastly superior.”

Mei Xiaoyang could not argue against her—against the truth, so she remained silent. And while she could point out the flaw in Edict Potions, that wouldnʼt do any good. After all, so what if you could only use one a lifetime as it tethers to your Spirit of Cultivation?

”It was once said by the 3rd Generation Zenith Refinement that if someone has all four alchemical treasures of fortune in their possession, they have the greatest chance to become a Supreme Sage. After all, not even a Supreme Sage could kill you with the Void Pellet, the Ways of Mysticism will be clear with the Mysticism Paste, the Laws beneath heaven become a matter of choice, and your soul will be enlightened.” Hao Chengxue regained some of his earlier excitement, but was noticeably more controlled in vocal tone and cadence. The incident brought him a soul-deep fear.

By this point, the Zeniths and Wei Wuyin were already readying their materials provided by the three neutral powers, inspected thoroughly to ensure no issues were among them, and were beginning the concoction process.

The clash of skill was unfolding before their very eyes!

But will Wei Wuyin, this foreigner who was only recognized as a Worldly Saint Alchemist be able to defy expectations and create a Mystic-Heaven grade Edict Potion without outside assistance?! Will his preparations be enough?
