School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 1161: Chapter 1247: Chu Wenrou’s Feelings

”Okay, I’m on my way!”

Chen Nan said excitedly, but then he warned, ”Wait a minute, why are you suddenly being so proactive? Are you trying to set me up?”

”Oh, come on, I’m just inviting you to dinner. Stop being so paranoid, will you? You’re supposed to be a man, but you’re more cowardly than a woman. Shame on you!” Chu Wenrou said disdainfully.

Chen Nan said, slightly at a loss for words, ”I’m just being reasonably suspicious. Besides, the last time I went to your place, who was it that put a basin of water on the door frame, soaking me completely? And then added laxatives to the noodles? Wasn’t that you?”

”So what if it was me? Those things happened ages ago. Can’t you be a bit more magnanimous and not be so petty?”

Chen Nan said speechlessly, ”Alright, I’ll trust you one more time.”

”Hmph, believe if you want. Come or don’t, it’s up to you. It’s not like I’m begging you to come,” Chu Wenrou said indifferently.

Hearing this, Chen Nan became anxious and quickly said, ”No, I’ll come right away, I’m on my way.”

”See, you should’ve said that earlier. I swear you’re just being difficult, making me look down on you before you decide to believe me,” Chu Wenrou said. ”Besides, Bingbing is at my place. Even if I wanted to trick you, she wouldn’t agree to it.”

Chen Nan pretended to be surprised and asked, ”Are you talking about Instructor Cheng? She’s at your house?”

”No kidding. How many Bingbings could there be? Who else could it be besides her? You think it’s Fan Bingbing?” Chu Wenrou said. ”By the way, stop by the market on your way and bring some groceries. Otherwise, we’ll have to order from a hotel.”

”No problem, you guys just wait for me, I’ll be there in no time,” Chen Nan agreed eagerly.

But as soon as he hung up the phone, he was dumbfounded. It was already dark outside, and the market wouldn’t have anything left to buy.

After hesitating for a moment, Chen Nan left the room.

Finding an excuse to step out, he hit the road in his Ferrari.

On the way, Chen Nan sent a text to Cheng Bingbing, asking her what kind of dishes Chu Wenrou liked.

After getting a reply, he went to a restaurant—not to eat, but to buy groceries from them at several times the usual price.

The restaurant owner was naturally happy to oblige. He didn’t even have to cook the dishes. After buying them from the market, he made a hefty profit without wasting a drop of oil or salt. Even a fool would agree to such a deal.

The dishes Chen Nan bought were all Chu Wenrou’s favorites.

”This girl has some weird taste, thank goodness for Cheng Bingbing being the insider, or I’d be clueless,” Chen Nan muttered as he floored the gas pedal, racing towards Chu Wenrou’s place.

Along the way, Chen Nan terrified countless drivers with his lightning speed, even forcing the policemen to give way.

Minutes later, Chen Nan reached the complex and parked the car outside Chu Wenrou’s door.

Carrying the groceries, he unlocked the door with his key.

This time, he was prepared. He observed the situation after opening the door to avoid getting drenched.

But this time, Chu Wenrou seemed genuinely to have invited him to dinner; there were no tricks at the door. Chen Nan entered smoothly, finding Chu Wenrou and Cheng Bingbing watching TV.

”Wenrou, I’m here.”

Chen Nan ran over with the groceries, glanced at Cheng Bingbing, and said, ”Hey, Instructor Cheng is here too.”

Cheng Bingbing, quick-witted, immediately switched to acting mode, glanced at Chu Wenrou, and then looked at Chen Nan. She asked, ”How did you get a key? Are you guys living together? Congratulations! Make sure to tell me when the wedding is.”

”No way!”

Chu Wenrou retorted, annoyed, ”You did this on purpose, didn’t you, Cheng Bingbing? Didn’t I tell you during military training up the mountain? My dad messed up and gave him the key.”

Cheng Bingbing slapped her forehead and said, ”I totally forgot about that.”

Then, lying beside Chu Wenrou, she whispered a few words, but Chen Nan could still hear her saying nice things about him.

Unaware that Chen Nan overheard, Chu Wenrou glanced at him with noticeably softer eyes and pointed to the kitchen, saying, ”I called you over not just for dinner, you know what to do.”

”I completely understand the intent, Chief.”

To win over this girl, Chen Nan was going all out, bringing groceries and cooking for them without a word of complaint.

Pursuing a woman is no easy task!

Chen Nan sighed internally as he carried the groceries into the kitchen.

Watching Chen Nan’s figure disappear into the kitchen, Cheng Bingbing nudged Chu Wenrou with her elbow: ”Hey, Wenrou, this guy is really nice. He does everything for you, why don’t you just agree to date him?”

”He already has so many women, why should I agree to it so easily? I’d be cheapening myself,” Chu Wenrou shook her head and said.

”Only good men have many women vying for them. Why don’t you agree first, and after you’ve secured your place, make him commit only to you,” Cheng Bingbing suggested, feeling even herself that she lacked integrity, as she was practically pushing her friend into a pit for the sake of learning martial arts.

Chu Wenrou rolled her eyes: ”That’s such a lousy idea, too unreliable. All his women are prettier than me, taller than me, how could he possibly ditch them all for just me?”

”Hey, this doesn’t sound like you. Since when did you become so lacking in confidence?”

Chu Wenrou shook her head: ”That’s just the way it is. I don’t have the figure, I don’t have the face. He’s only treating me well because he finds me new and interesting. Once he gets bored, he’ll probably wish I’d leave quickly. Why would he abandon everyone else for me?”

”This...”

Cheng Bingbing hesitated too, unsure if she should continue speaking well of Chen Nan.

If it turned out to be as Chu Wenrou said, and Chen Nan got tired and abandoned her, wouldn’t she be the villain who pushed her friend into harm’s way?

Chu Wenrou sighed, rare for her, saying, ”No man doesn’t love beauty. Cheng Bingbing, if I had your figure and face, I’d be full of confidence too. The rich don’t understand the poor’s struggles, and beauties won’t understand why regular people lack confidence.”

”Hold on, I’ll be right back.”

Cheng Bingbing stood up and headed to the kitchen.

Chu Wenrou scratched her head in confusion, wondering what she was up to.

Two minutes later, Cheng Bingbing came out, handed her phone to Chu Wenrou, and said, ”Look, he just swore he’d never let you down, and I caught it on video.”

Chu Wenrou opened the video, and just as Cheng Bingbing said, there was Chen Nan making a vow.

Moreover, it was a vicious vow!

If he ever abandoned her or treated her poorly, may he be struck by lightning.

Vows might not always mean much, but such a vicious vow is something no one would make lightly.

Cheng Bingbing nudged her again and said, ”Hey, I recorded the video. Don’t you trust it now?”
