School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 826: Chapter 904: 500 Years of Persistence

”You’re not that old, what on earth are you thinking?”

Chen Nan unceremoniously gave Su Qingqing a light knock on the head, causing the girl to rub her head with a pained expression and complain, ”Why did you hit me? It hurts...”

”Who told you to have such unhealthy thoughts at such a young age? You’ve been led astray by this troublemaker Yun Fei.”

With Chen Nan’s words, not only did Su Qingqing get all riled up, but Dongfang Yun Fei also got angry. The two of them attacked Chen Nan from both sides, their fists swinging towards him.

Chen Nan quickly dodged, making a stop gesture: ”Pause, pause! You two can play around; I’ll go check on Shi’er first.”

”What exactly did you do to Shi’er?”

Su Qingqing stomped her foot eagerly, eager to know the truth.

Chen Nan turned around helplessly and said, ”I just made her angry, that’s all. What else could I have done? Don’t listen to Yun Fei’s nonsense, nothing good ever comes out of her mouth.”

”You bastard, how dare you insult me!”

Dongfang Yun Fei, who had just calmed down, again posed as if ready to fight Chen Nan.

Chen Nan wasn’t interested in bickering with her and simply turned to leave, making Dongfang Yun Fei stomp her foot angrily before sitting down on the sofa. With her temperament, if it weren’t for the fact that Chen Nan was going to find Shi’er, she would definitely have fought with him to the end.

Although she had lost more battles than she had won in the past, she just couldn’t accept it.

”Shi’er, why are you hiding in there? Come on, open the door; everyone is worried about you!” Chen Nan walked over and knocked on the door.

After a moment of silence, Shi’er’s voice came from inside: ”Young Master Chen, I’m really fine, I’m just practicing, so don’t worry.”

Although the other girls hadn’t gathered around, they heard Shi’er’s words. It finally cleared Chen Nan’s name; judging by Shi’er’s tone, Chen Nan had at most only upset her, and had certainly done nothing unforgivable.

”I guess I wronged this jerk,” Dongfang Yun Fei said while sitting in the living room.

Chen Nan didn’t bother arguing with her, and knocked on the door again, saying, ”Shi’er, practice can wait; open the door first.”

”Alright then.”

After a while, the door opened, and Shi’er stood at the entrance, her face looking a bit more haggard than last night, her eyes somewhat swollen.

Even Chen Nan could deduce with his toes that she must have been crying.

”Shi’er, you...”

Seeing her like this, Chen Nan felt a pang of heartache, but when he opened his mouth, he didn’t know what to say.

Shi’er said nothing. After Chen Nan came in, she closed the door, her eyes watery and glued to Chen Nan with a pitiful look that unknowingly tugged at the heartstrings.

After a moment of silence, she stepped forward, opened her arms to hug Chen Nan, resting her head on his chest.

Chen Nan extended his hands but froze awkwardly, not knowing whether to embrace Shi’er or let her hug him: ”Uh... Shi’er, are you okay?”

Shi’er shook her head, not speaking.

Her arms held Chen Nan tightly as tears flowed incessantly; her five-hundred-year wait made her feelings truly steadfast.

After hesitating for a moment, Chen Nan gently patted her back but didn’t know what to say. He really didn’t know how to reject someone, especially such a delicate and pitiful girl.

After a while, Shi’er slowly released him: ”Thank you for not pushing me away.”

”Stop saying silly things; you may be hundreds of years old, but in my eyes, you’re like my little sister. As long as you want to, my arms will always be open to you,” Chen Nan said seriously.

Upon hearing the word ’sister,’ Shi’er looked disappointed.

That was not what she wanted in her heart.

Every day and night of those five hundred years had been spent in torment, trying everything to heal and return to human form to reunite with Chen Nan, bearing every hardship she could think of. Yet after meeting him, Chen Nan only saw her as a sister.

Shi’er shook her head: ”But you know, I don’t want to be your sister at all.”

Chen Nan fell silent.

Nothing he could say at this moment would be appropriate.

Shi’er might lack a bit of worldly knowledge, but she wasn’t dumb. Seeing Chen Nan’s silence, she smiled faintly and said: ”I won’t make things difficult for you. Since you see me as a sister, I’ll just be your sworn sister from now on.”

Chen Nan wiped the tears from her cheeks and nodded, saying: ”Then you must listen to your big brother from now on and no more tears.”

”Of course not; today will surely be the last time I cry.”

A smile appeared on Shi’er’s face, though it was tinged with bitterness; how could she easily let go of her five hundred years of dedication? Although she said she wouldn’t cry anymore, it was really not that easy to achieve.

Seeing her mood improve, Chen Nan said, ”You haven’t been outside all day; let’s go for a walk. Don’t keep staying inside all the time.”

Shi’er nodded, then stepped forward to give Chen Nan a peck on the cheek, no longer as nervous as when she confessed last night, and said with a smile: ”I’ll remember this moment; from now on, you are my big brother.”

Chen Nan ruffled her hair and nodded: ”Let’s go, we’re heading out.”

Once they arrived in the living room, Shi’er was immediately surrounded by Su Qingqing, Liu Tiantian, and Dongfang Yun Fei all demanding to know exactly how Chen Nan had bullied her.

As for Chen Nan, his situation was even more pathetic; he was ushered into the kitchen by the ladies, tasked with cooking, fulfilling the role of the cook.

After dinner.

Su Qingqing took Huo Xinya to go catch up on their studies.

As for Liu Tiantian, seeing as Shi’er wasn’t in the best of moods, she took her to play some games together.

Left in the living room were only Chen Nan, Dongfang Yun Fei, and Su Yixuan. To avoid another outbreak of war with Dongfang Yun Fei, Chen Nan made a wise choice—he returned to his room to practice.

But as soon as he sat down, his phone rang.

He took it out to see that it was Xuan Tianji calling: ”Hey, old man.”

”You rude brat, would it kill you to call me master?” Xuan Tianji scolded him with disdain before saying, ”Don’t turn off your phone tomorrow; I have a task for you.”

Chen Nan was taken aback: ”What task?”

”I’ll tell you tomorrow,” the old man said.

Chen Nan wanted to ask more, but the phone buzzed with the sound of a line cutting off; the old man had already hung up.

Chen Nan was accustomed to the old man’s quick hang-ups. Just as he was about to sit cross-legged and cultivate, his phone rang again within less than a minute. Looking at it, Chen Nan furrowed his brows when he saw the number belonging to Hua Xiaoyan, the mutual cousin of Jiang Xiaomi and Chu Wenrou.

This late at night, what does this woman want?

Chen Nan answered the call, only to hear Chu Wenrou’s angry voice: ”Chen, you damn liar, coward, where are you? This lady needs to settle the score with you!”
