Reborn : Space Intelligent Woman

An ambulance rushed to the emergency entrance. The paramedic pushed the man around 30 years old out of the ambulance van.

Yu Qi the doctor in charge at the time rushed over to see the patient.

”We just picked up him from the nearby hotel. He is paralysed from the waist down.” The paramedic told Yu Qi.

Yu Qi thought about the nearby hotel. She was thinking about something.

”Pool accident?” Yu Qi asked.

”Not this time.” The paramedic stated.

They pushed him to an empty room. The patient was conscious.

”I can not move my legs. Please help me.” The patient cried out.

”Please calm up, Sir. We will take a look at you.” Yu Qi said.

The paramedic lifted the patient and put him onto the bed.

”Please... A few minutes ago, I could still move my legs. And now, I can not.” The patient stated.

”Hi, what is your name?” Yu Qi asked.

”Zhao Yongzhung.” The patient told Yu Qi her name.

”Can you tell me what happened today?” Yu Qi asked again. She wanted some information to help her to diagnose this situation.

”Nothing.” Zhao Yongzhung said.

”What?” Yu Qi was confused.

”Well, I came here to hike Shisu Mountain.” Zhao Yongzhung said.

Shisu Mountain was where Yu Qi and Qin Xia went before going to the cultivation world.

”I was walking to the hotel elevator to pick up some gear and my legs just stopped working. I don’t know what happened.” Zhao Yongzhung explained to Yu Qi.

”Have you fallen recently?” Yu Qi asked again.

”No, I am telling you, normal day. Nothing in particular.” Zhao Yongzhung wanted to shake his head but he could not move his hand since he was wearing the neck support.

”Okay, the nurse is going to check your vitals and we will be right back.” Yu Qi smiled.

The nurse quickly came and did her job. Yu Qi turned to another doctor.

”Let’s get him in for an MRI immediately.” Yu Qi stated.

”MRI machine is out.” The doctor shook her head.

”What?” Yu Qi was surprised.

”A claustrophobic guy kicked it last night and it is still being serviced.” The nurse came to explain since she was in charge of that patient yesterday.

Yu Qi sighed. ”Well, in the meantime, I need an initial workup of LP, CBC and electrolytes. Let’s get his copper, vitamin B12, and vitamin E levels as well.” Yu Qi gave the order.

The doctor and nurse walked away to get the work done. Then Yu Qi heard Zhao Yongzhung call for her.

”Doctor... doctor....” Zhao Yongzhung called for her.

Yu Qi went to the patient.

”I will be okay, right? I am going to be able to walk again, right?” Zhao Yongzhung hoped that.

He could never think about not being able to walk again. He was a person who like sport and everywhere. If he could not walk anymore, he could not enjoy the sport anymore.

”I am going to do my best to help you.” That was the only word that Yu Qi could say to Zhao Yongzhung right now.

Zhao Yongzhung breathed deeply.

...

Yu Qi was with Elder Mong. She checked his condition and it improved a lot.

”I have not seen you for days.” Elder Mong stated.

”Hmm... I visit my family for a few past days. My grandaunt had her birthday two days ago.” Yu Qi told Elder Mong.

”Oh... How good.” Elder Mong smiled.

”Hmm... Gathering among the family is good.” Yu Qi nodded.

Elder Mong knew about Yu Qi a little bit after the nurse told him Yu Qi’s story. Being abandoned by her parents and got adopted by an abusive family were not very good childhood memory.

Yu Qi was slightly better than Elder Mong where after getting adopted by Grandpa Tang. Her life began to change.

Elder Mong could see that Yu Qi was very fond of her loving family. He also wondered how his life was if he did not get kidnapped. His life was probably happy with grandchildren right now.

Yu Qi could feel that Elder Mong’s mood shifted.

”Elder Mong, let’s go out. The weather is very good today.” Yu Qi said.

”Hmm... Let’s go.” Yu Qi said.

”Okay.” Elder Mong nodded.

Even though Elder Mong could walk a little, Yu Qi still prepared a wheelchair for Elder Mong. The corridor was long to get out. Elder Mong would be tired before he reached outside.

Yu Qi lifted up Elder Mong and put him onto the wheelchair. At first, Elder Mong was surprised but now he was used about this.

Yu Qi pulled Elder Mong out. Elder Mong really loved going outside like this with Yu Qi. He was not like this with Professor Song Shan and other nurses.

”You know, we already trained whether the weather is good or bad. We run aside the beach. Something the temperature was too high, the beach sand was very hot. It burned our legs since we were ordered to run without wearing shoes or slippers.” Elder Mong looked at the sun.

”You mean before you became a test human drug?” Yu Qi asked.

”Yes. The place we got trained to become a killer.” Elder Mong recalled his memories. ”It was an island completed with their facilities. Dorm, hospital, training room, canteen... Yes. Everything is completed.”

”How do you know it was an island?” Yu Qi asked. It was an important detail.
