Lust System: Conquering the World Beauties

Chapter 29: Chapter 29 Save Your Woman II

Liam took a single step forward, his expression blank, his eyes cold, and his entire presence exuding an eerie confidence that sent shivers down the spines of the men in front of him, yet the thug holding Ann hostage, too consumed by his own arrogance and false sense of control, did not hesitate to press the blade of his axe even closer to her delicate throat, the sharp metal grazing her smooth skin ever so slightly, enough to make her stiffen but not enough to draw blood—at least not yet—as the man let out a low chuckle, fully believing that he held the ultimate advantage in this moment, completely unaware of the storm that was brewing in the depths of Liam’s darkened gaze.

”You take another step, and I’ll cut her throat open right in front of you,” the thug hissed, his grip tightening around Ann’s waist as she struggled to remain calm despite the sheer terror surging through her veins, her wide eyes darting towards Liam in desperation.

Liam, however, did not flinch, nor did he show any signs of panic or hesitation; instead, he merely exhaled slowly, his gaze unwavering as he processed the situation before him, his mind working at a speed far beyond the comprehension of the lowly thugs standing in his way, and just as they prepared for him to surrender or beg for Ann’s safety, something none of them could have anticipated happened—without so much as a moment’s delay, Liam raised his arm and hurled the axe he had taken from the dead man on the ground, the weapon cutting through the air with terrifying speed and deadly precision, spinning in perfect rotation as it closed the distance between him and his target in the blink of an eye.

The thug’s eyes widened in horror, his mouth parting as if to scream, but he never got the chance, for the axe embedded itself deep into his forehead with a sickening crunch, silencing him instantly, his body stiffening before he fell backward onto the floor, dead before he even understood what had happened, his grip on Ann loosening as she gasped and stumbled forward, her hands instinctively reaching for her neck to ensure that she was unharmed while her breath came in short, frantic bursts, her heart hammering so violently in her chest that she could barely think straight.

For a fleeting moment, silence consumed the room, the weight of what had just transpired settling heavily in the air, but before any of the remaining thugs could even process their fallen comrade’s fate, a far more chilling realization struck them—a realization that sent an unbearable dread crawling beneath their skin, making their muscles lock in place and their throats run dry.

Liam was gone.

The very same boy who had just thrown an axe with inhuman precision was no longer standing where he had been merely seconds ago, and as their frantic eyes darted around in search of him, desperately trying to locate his whereabouts, their confusion turned to sheer terror when they finally spotted him—no longer in front of them, but behind them, standing so eerily still that it felt as though he had been there all along, his dark gaze void of any emotion, his hands clenched into tight fists at his sides, and his entire being radiating a level of menace that they had never once encountered before in their wretched lives.

And then, in an instant, he moved.

His body became nothing more than a blur, an unstoppable force that none of them could react to in time, and before the first thug could even raise his axe to defend himself, Liam was already upon him, his fist colliding directly with the man’s throat in a devastating strike, the sheer force behind the blow sending a nauseating crack echoing throughout the room, the sound of cartilage snapping under pressure making even Ann flinch as the thug’s eyes bulged, his hands immediately flying to his neck as he stumbled backward, choking on his own shattered windpipe before collapsing lifelessly onto the ground, his body twitching for a mere moment before going completely still.

One hit. That was all it took.

The remaining two thugs were now visibly trembling, their previous bravado shattering into nothingness as they finally realized that they had severely underestimated the boy in front of them, that they had walked into this house believing they were predators when in reality, they were nothing more than prey standing before a beast far beyond their ability to comprehend.

”This... This isn’t normal,” one of them stammered, his grip on his weapon faltering as he took a step back, sweat forming along his brow as his instincts screamed at him to run, but his body was frozen in fear, unable to respond to the overwhelming presence exuding from Liam, a presence that had shifted from simply dangerous to something outright monstrous.

”He’s not human,” the other muttered, his voice barely above a whisper as his knees nearly buckled beneath him, his entire body screaming for him to turn and flee, yet before he could so much as take a single step, Liam’s piercing gaze locked onto him, and in that single moment, the thug felt his entire existence being crushed under the weight of that cold, merciless stare.

That was all it took for one of them to break.

With a strangled cry, the first thug dropped his axe without hesitation and bolted towards the door, his only thought being to escape, to get as far away from this nightmare as possible before he, too, ended up like the rest of his fallen comrades, and seeing his companion run for his life only solidified the second thug’s decision to do the same.

But Liam was faster.

Before the second man could even turn, Liam’s hand shot forward and grabbed the back of his shirt, pulling him back with terrifying ease, and the thug let out a panicked sob, his entire body trembling as he fell to his knees, his hands coming together in desperation as he pleaded, ”P-Please! I don’t want to die! We won’t ever bother you again! I swear!”

Liam stared down at him, his grip still firm on the fabric of the thug’s shirt, his mind debating whether to end it right then and there or let him go, his blood still running hot from the fight, his senses heightened from the rush of adrenaline coursing through his veins, but then, just as he was about to make his decision, a sharp cracking sound echoed throughout the room, causing him to turn his head slightly towards the source.

Ann.

She was standing over the first thug who had attempted to run, her foot still pressed against the back of his head where she had stomped him into unconsciousness, her expression unreadable as she met Liam’s gaze.

Liam couldn’t help but feel a sense of admiration at that moment.

He didn’t know how she had done it, but she had somehow managed to intercept the fleeing man and take him down before he could even reach the door, proving once again that she was far more than just a pretty face or some delicate girl in need of saving—no, she was someone capable, someone strong, someone who, despite being put in a terrifying situation, had not hesitated to act when the time came.

And for that, Liam respected her even more.

With a deep exhale, he released his grip on the final thug’s shirt, watching as the man collapsed onto the floor in sheer relief, his entire body trembling uncontrollably as he mumbled incoherent words of gratitude, his eyes shining with unshed tears as he promised to never cross paths with Liam again.
