In the Apocalypse, After Hoarding Supplies, They Teamed Up with a Powerful Figure and Went on a Killing Spree

41: Chapter 41 The Storm Is BrewingVisibility outside the car window was extremely low due to the blood rain; even with the wipers swinging frantically, it was difficult to fully clear the viscous rainwater.

Along the way, they occasionally saw distorted figures staggering through the curtain of rain, or corpses that had long since lost all signs of life, slumped by the roadside.

The closer they got to Shelter No. 2, the more scattered zombies they encountered. Judging by their clothes, they were the same group of people Zhang Ji had been defending against on the mountain.

At this moment, the zombies were attracted by the engine sound and lunged toward them with roars.

Qi Yin gave a cold command: ”Ram through them.”

“You got it!”

Lu Yanxiu gritted his teeth and slammed on the accelerator. The Beast G60, like a violent steel behemoth, sent all the zombies blocking the path flying.

However, due to the unique geography, they had to park the car and run up quickly.

Finally, they broke through to the outer defense perimeter.

The camouflaged gate of Shelter No. 2 appeared before their eyes.

At this time, at least forty zombies were densely gathered outside the gate, following their instincts to frantically smash their bodies against the reinforced metal door.

But that door couldn’t even be blown open by bombs, so why would it fear these physical impacts?

“Kill them.” Qi Yin was the first to draw her Tang sword.

Sensing the scent of living people, a portion of the zombies immediately split off and roared as they charged toward them.

The blade of the Tang sword flowed with a cold, chilling light under the blood rain and dim illumination.

Qi Yin didn’t use her wide-range Ice-type Ability; today, she wanted to properly test her skills.

A zombie lunged in front of her. Qi Yin shifted her steps, precisely evading the sharp claws.

The blade swept across its neck, and a large head spurting black blood immediately took flight.

The movement was clean and efficient, practiced thousands of times within her space.

With a side step, the blade split open the chest of another zombie.

Her movements were as smooth as flowing water and highly efficient; every strike precisely predicted the zombies’ attack trajectories and weaknesses.

Lu Yanxiu and Lu Jinwen also immediately joined the battle.

Fireballs whistled, blowing apart the huddled zombies, while metal shards shredded the approaching monsters.

But because of the large number of zombies, Qi Yin remained the main force.

With the support of the two, she wove through the horde; every time she swung her Tang sword, a zombie was bound to fall.

This wasn’t a battle, but a cold-blooded harvest.

Watching Qi Yin’s heart-stoppingly efficient killing form, Lu Jinwen couldn’t help but shiver.

She noticed that every time they encountered zombies, Qi Yin seemed perfectly adapted to this environment.

Soon, the dozens of zombies at the door were cleared away.

Black blood and severed limbs covered the ground, emitting bursts of stench as they mixed with the blood rain.

Qi Yin shook the foul blood off her blade and threw it into her space.

Watching through the surveillance on the door, Chen Jun saw that all the zombies had been wiped out by them, once again marveling at how correct his initial choice had been.

“President Qi, you’ve finally arrived. What... what kind of monsters are these? They’re terrifying!”

“It’s fine now. Increase security. There are still many materials the lab will need. Do not go out for the next half month.”

The three of them didn’t take off their protective suits. ”By the way, how is the progress on the Stinger?”

Speaking of this, Chen Jun, who had been trembling with fear just a moment ago, immediately became excited.

“Following your previous suggestions, the development of the Stinger has made great progress. President Qi, would you like to come in and take a look?”

“No need. Handle it yourself, and let me know if you need anything.”

After pressing the switch to lock the gate, the three spent some time digging out all the white crystal cores from the zombies’ heads before returning to the mountaintop villa.

When over a hundred crystal cores were dumped onto the table, Chen Quan and the others were incredibly envious.

“Sister Yin, you must take me next time. I’m salivating at these results.” Wen Yang watched Lu Yanxiu’s punchable look of pride, his hands itching for action.

It had taken Qi Yin several days to accept being called ”Sister” by these people who, except for Chen Quan, were all older than her.

Seeing them so enthusiastic, she definitely couldn’t dampen their confidence.

“No problem, there will be plenty of opportunities to practice!”

The horrifying blood rain finally stopped after falling frantically for three days and three nights.

However, the sky did not turn clear because of it; instead, it revealed a deathly, dull grayish-yellow.

The smell permeating the air became even more nauseating; the thick scent of blood pressed heavily on everyone’s chest, making it hard to breathe.

“Is this weather going to clear up or what?” Wang Tianyu asked worriedly.

Behind him, Jiang Yao sat before a bank of computer screens, his fingers tapping rapidly. He didn’t look up, but his expression was grim.

“Based on satellite imagery and monitoring station data models, there will be large-scale torrential rain for at least the next half month.”

Qi Yin took a deep breath, and only felt warm after a cup of hot coffee reached her stomach.

“No, it’s not just torrential rain; it’s catastrophic rain.”

At that time, large-scale flooding would be almost inevitable.

The word ’catastrophic’ caused everyone’s hearts to skip a beat.

Lu Jinwen hugged her arms uneasily, but having slowly accepted the reality of the Apocalypse, she was gradually becoming numb.

What is going on? The blood rain just ended, and an even bigger natural disaster is already waiting for them ahead.

Chen Quan added in a heavy voice, “Three consecutive days and nights of blood rain have basically corroded the city’s drainage system. If another massive rainstorm comes, the water levels will likely rise rapidly. By then... many places will be submerged.”

Including all the streets in the entire Capital.

Qi Yin nodded indifferently.

Chen Quan was right. This meant that even if some people had a few supplies, if they weren’t on high enough ground, they would still face total destruction.

And those who hadn’t collected supplies would sink completely beneath the water.

She turned around, her gaze sweeping over everyone.

“However, for us, this isn’t entirely a bad thing.”

These words left everyone stunned.

They watched as Qi Yin walked to the electronic screen.

“The flood will isolate the threat of most land-based zombies, at least for now.”

Then, she used an electronic pen to mark several points on the map.

“Look, these large supermarkets, warehouse-style stores, and the grain and oil reserves in the city center are mostly underground or in warehouses.”

Lu Yanxiu caught her point: “So, you mean as long as we move fast enough, we can get the items inside before most people can react.”

Qi Yin curled her lips and snapped her fingers: “Exactly!”

Free shopping—she had been waiting for this for a long time.

The group looked at each other, understanding the implication.

Doing this carried great risk, but at the same time, the rate of return was very high.

No sooner said than done; Chen Quan took Wen Yang and the others to immediately start preparing the modified assault boats.

While they were in the middle of intense preparations for their next adventure, it was a different scene inside a dilapidated old residential compound.

Qi Mingyuan lay on the only relatively intact broken sofa in the living room, letting out groans of pain.

Qi Ming cowered at his feet, his face bruised and swollen, though compared to his father’s broken leg, his injuries were considered light.

Their injuries came from the man in black who had just slammed the door and left.

That man had arrived and, without a word, smashed all three of their phones to pieces.

“Idiots, you didn’t even know you were being monitored...”
