In the Apocalypse, After Hoarding Supplies, They Teamed Up with a Powerful Figure and Went on a Killing Spree

8: Chapter 8: Recruiting Chen QuanAfter casually having lunch at a Hunan restaurant, Qi Yin walked out holding her little belly, almost needing to lean against the wall to leave.

”No matter how delicious it is, you can’t eat too much!”

That afternoon, just like hoarding breakfast in the morning, Qi Yin used the excuse of treating company employees to dinner to sweep through half the restaurants in the city, big and small.

Local specialties of all kinds, such as various heavy-flavored Hunan dishes, Sichuan dishes, sweet Cantonese dishes, etc., she ordered five hundred portions of each to be delivered to the villa.

Otherwise, since she didn’t know how to cook, when she got greedy during the Apocalypse, she wouldn’t be able to eat these things even with money.

”Ding...” The phone rang again. Qi Yin glanced at the caller ID and hung up with a cold face.

Three days later, the first batch of supplies she ordered had arrived at the villa.

During these three days, Qi Yin hadn’t been idle either. She contacted several steel processing plants and ordered a large number of shelves, which were delivered to the abandoned warehouse at her grandmother’s old house.

It was time to inspect her supplies.

Although this warehouse of her grandmother’s had been abandoned for a long time, the area near the warehouse gate looked rusty.

It didn’t look very big from the outside, but fortunately, most of the warehouse’s main body was hidden in the mountainside. In fact, the space inside was not to be underestimated. It was perfectly fine for temporarily storing the supplies she ordered, and it also saved the cost of renting a warehouse.

In a few days, Uncle Chen had also finished handling the asset liquidation. He had just arrived at the location he and Qi Yin agreed upon—the warehouse—and was currently helping her supervise the workers unloading the goods.

The shelves weren’t delivered all at once but were transported successively over these few days, so it didn’t take long to finish unloading.

After sending these people away, Chen Quan finally saw Qi Yin, who had disappeared for a long time.

Looking at the shelves piled up in the warehouse, he really couldn’t figure out what Qi Yin wanted to do. Forced by the fact that she was his master, he couldn’t ask too much.

”Miss, everything is here. In addition, all the assets under your name have been processed, but the sale price was only 500 million.”

Qi Yin didn’t care. The real estate she had on hand sold for a total of 500 million. Although it was a bit lower than the market price, she was already very satisfied.

Added to the previous 2.5 billion, that made a total of 3 billion in funds. She had transferred 2 billion to Lu Yanxiu, and the rest was more than enough for her to spend.

After the Apocalypse started, she could still go on a zero-dollar shopping spree, so she didn’t have to worry about a lack of funds at all.

Qi Yin walked into the warehouse. Rows of shelves came into view. The quantity met her requirements, and she was quite satisfied.

Now, she needed to find a way to keep Chen Quan and have him work for her.

Thinking of this, she casually dug out two small stools from the corner, blew the dust off them, handed one to Chen Quan, and sat down on the other one herself in an unceremonious manner. One couldn’t tell at all that she used to be a severe mysophobe.

”Sit down, Uncle Chen. I have something to tell you.”

Chen Quan didn’t stand on ceremony with her either and immediately sat down casually.

”Miss, please speak, I’m listening.”

He didn’t know what Qi Yin wanted to do, but during this period, she had been selling shares and processing assets, so she must have her own plans.

This child had always had her own ideas since she was little.

The two of them sat at the warehouse entrance like they were chatting about daily life. Qi Yin’s bright eyes turned, and she thought for a moment, planning how she should bring it up.

In the end, she decided to tell Chen Quan everything about the coming Apocalypse, but the difference was that this time she didn’t hide the rebirth and the jade pendant.

Chen Quan was a trustworthy person; otherwise, he wouldn’t have died saving her in the previous life.

The air was silent. After a good while, Chen Quan’s incredulous voice rang out in the empty warehouse.

”You mean, in the previous life, I died because I was trying to save you and was harmed by that brat Qi Ming?”

Qi Yin blinked. Recalling the previous life, they had encountered a deserted little supermarket. She went in to collect supplies, while Qi Ming and Wang Hui were arguing outside for some reason, attracting several Mutated Zombies.

By the time she and Chen Quan reacted, Qi Ming and Wang Hui had long since run away, leaving the two of them to fight the zombies to the death.

But Chen Quan hadn’t awakened any Supernatural Ability at that time. With his skills as a retired special forces soldier and her Water Element Ability, which had basically no offensive power, there was no chance of winning against several Mutated Zombies.

In the end, it was Chen Quan who used his own flesh and blood to hold off the zombies, buying time for her to escape.

He was a very good person and shouldn’t have died so miserably.

Therefore, seeing the living Chen Quan now, Qi Yin’s eyes turned slightly red.

”Uncle Chen, you have to believe me.”

As she spoke, Qi Yin stood up, faced the stack of shelves in front of her, and reached out her hand.

”In!”

Before Chen Quan could react, that tall stack of shelves had vanished into thin air!

Chen Quan was even more bewildered: ”Is this… magic?”

Seeing that he still wouldn’t believe it, Qi Yin reached out again. This time, she directly took all the shelves stored in the warehouse into her space.

”How about now?”

At this moment, Chen Quan really dared not disbelieve it anymore.

If the shelves could disappear out of thin air, then the jade pendant space and the Apocalypse that Qi Yin mentioned were most likely true as well.

He was silent for a long time. He shoved the old pipe in his hand into his mouth, but couldn’t taste anything at all.

”No wonder. During this time, you’ve done so many inexplicable things and haven’t been as obedient to Qi Mingyuan as before, like a naive fool.”

”Will the jade pendant your grandmother gave you cause you trouble?”

Qi Yin shook her head: ”The jade pendant has already merged into my body, and no one can find it.”

She smiled, but there was a hint of desolation in her smile.

”Uncle Chen, do you know the feeling of a narrow escape from death? I have already died once. Now, you are one of the few people I trust. I also thank you for saving my life back then. Just consider it me returning this life to you.”

As she spoke, she extended an olive branch: ”Are you willing to follow me? Uncle Chen.”

Chen Quan stood up and waved his hand. Because he had been a soldier, his age of forty didn’t show much on him. If he didn’t say anything, others might think he was only in his thirties.

”What talk of life or death? Not to mention that you are paying my salary now, even if it were an ordinary person, I think I would have saved them. But Miss, you already have such an heaven-defying space in your hands, what can I do to help you?”

Qi Yin pointed to herself, squeezed the loose muscles on her body, and laughed: ”Isn’t it obvious? With this frail body of mine, if I don’t exercise, am I just waiting to be chased and hacked to death when the Apocalypse comes?”

”And besides, Uncle Chen, you helped my grandmother manage the household when you were young, so you must have a knack for it. I’m counting on you to help me manage things.”

Her words were undoubtedly a reassurance for Chen Quan, completely dispelling his concerns.

Chen Quan thought to himself that he had lived in the Lu family for more than thirty years and had long considered it his home. If Qi Yin asked him to leave, he really wouldn’t know where to go.

He patted his chest and bowed deeply to Qi Yin.

”Miss, if you have any need for me, please feel free to command.”

He was nearly 190cm tall. Qi Yin smiled and stood on tiptoe, reaching his shoulder to pat it: ”Then thank you very much, Uncle Chen!”

Although she was just an ordinary person, and the Supernatural Ability she awakened was also very useless, apart from having a little money, she had no other advantages.

To live well in the man-eating Apocalypse, she could only find people to team up with.

The premise was that the person had to be trustworthy.

In the Apocalypse, being backstabbed by a teammate was a truly painful thing.

Chen Quan was a very good person, with good character and good skills; it was just that he had the professional instinct of a soldier, and sometimes he couldn’t avoid being soft-hearted.

In the Apocalypse, being a saint is a big taboo.

”By the way, Uncle Chen, can you still contact your former comrades? I need a trustworthy team now to help us build a shelter where we can live during the Apocalypse.”

Chen Quan didn’t hesitate at all and immediately took out his mobile phone: ”I’ll try. It should be possible.”

After arranging these things, the cooked food Qi Yin had ordered three days ago had arrived at the villa. The merchants’ phones were almost blown up.

The two of them packed up the supplies in the warehouse and rushed to her villa without stopping.

Although the house had already been sold, Qi Yin had said that moving out would take time, so she asked the other party to come and collect the house after a month.

As soon as he entered, Chen Quan was shocked by the meal boxes filling the courtyard. Not only the courtyard, but the garden outside also had a large pile.

”If it weren’t for leveling the flower beds in advance, there really wouldn’t be space to put so many things.”

Qi Yin knew in her heart how much she had ordered, so she wasn’t surprised. She immediately reached out and went ”In, in, in!”

Tens of thousands of portions of dishes were all put into her space in less than three minutes.

There was no time to enter the space to organize and arrange them now, so Qi Yin just left them there after throwing them in.

The most urgent thing was that news had come from Lu Yanxiu. The building materials she used to renovate the shelter had all arrived. Such important things had to be inspected in person.

As for the location of the shelters, when Qi Yin had just been reborn, she had already secretly selected three different locations to build shelters of different levels.

When no one was paying attention, countless cargo ships quietly approached the coast north of the capital.

And no one would know what expensive security materials were loaded in these huge cargo ships.

Qi Yin rubbed her hands, ready to start receiving the goods!
