The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 532: Chapter 531: Purpose

Upon hearing Mrs. Zeng’s words, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but glance at her before saying, ”You must be mistaken.”

Mrs. Zeng saw that Ding Yuejun was still denying it, and the smile on her face faded, ”Yue Jun, it seems you’ve truly started to see us as outsiders, but I’ve been through this before, I definitely didn’t see it wrong.”

Seeing Mrs. Zeng clinging to the matter, Ding Yuejun lost her patience. She thought since Mrs. Zeng came to her specifically, she must have something to say, ”What exactly do you want to say?”

Upon hearing this, Mrs. Zeng immediately smiled and said, ”Yue Jun, I know you and Xiao Hong are close, but now you and Yiyi live in Shangjing, while she lives in Houshan Town. This makes it hard for you to meet up, so... could you bring Xiao Hong to Shangjing too?”

”If Xiao Hong comes to Shangjing, what about you?”

Mrs. Zeng replied as if it was a matter of course, ”Of course, we would all come along, I also need to help take care of Little Treasure.”

Finally grasping Mrs. Zeng’s intention, Ding Yuejun realized she wanted to use Huang Yanquan’s fondness for her to have them all move to Shangjing.

Thinking about it, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but laugh. Did Mrs. Zeng think she’d caught something over her?

Seeing Ding Yuejun not speak but suddenly burst into laughter, Mrs. Zeng frowned unhappily, ”What are you laughing at?”

”Nothing, I will consider your proposal carefully.”

Upon hearing this, Mrs. Zeng’s face immediately lit up with a smile. After saying a few more things, she returned to her guest room.

When Yiyi saw her mother return, she couldn’t help but ask, ”Mom, what did Aunt Zeng want from you?”

Of course, Ding Yuejun didn’t hide anything from her daughter and recounted the whole situation.

After hearing her mother’s words, Yiyi couldn’t help but coldly snort, ”So that’s what her plan was.”

Ding Yuejun, however, seemed a bit hesitant.

”Actually... having your sister’s family come to Shangjing wouldn’t be bad. That way, the three of us can meet more often. But if it also means letting her mother-in-law succeed, that’s a little frustrating.”

”Mom, you’re right. If we’re going to bring my sister over, we’d bring her whole family, not bringing her in-laws as well. Otherwise, we’ll just let Mrs. Zeng’s manipulation succeed. She really thinks she can use Huang Yanquan to threaten us.”

By the end, Yiyi was still quite angry.

”How can she not think about it? Now they all still live at our house. We’ve hosted them so warmly and hospitably, yet she has these kinds of thoughts.”

Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but shake her head, ”Maybe some people just like to take advantage.”

”Mom, I think we should let my sister know about this, or her mother-in-law might act victimized first, and it would cause my sister to misunderstand us.”

Ding Yuejun nodded in agreement upon hearing this.

The next day, Yiyi told Mo Xiaohong about the situation.

Upon hearing Yiyi’s words, Mo Xiaohong was utterly shocked.

”What... Did mother-in-law really say that?”

In the end, she was too angry to speak.

No wonder her mother-in-law was so eager to come to Shangjing this time, even dragging them along for a trip. And once they arrived, she wouldn’t stay at a hotel and insisted on staying here. So that was her plan all along, to have mom bring all of them to Shangjing. Has she banked on mom taking care of their entire family? How could she have such a big face?

Even she felt embarrassed to make things difficult for mom, since Ding Yuejun wasn’t her biological mother. The care she received was already rare enough, yet Mrs. Zeng kept wanting more.

With this thought, Mo Xiaohong sprang up.

Seeing Mo Xiaohong’s reaction, Yiyi quickly said, ”Sis, don’t worry just yet. I think we should let brother-in-law know about this, see what he thinks, what if...”

Yiyi paused, then continued, ”what if brother-in-law shares the same idea as your mother-in-law.”

”No way.”

Ding Yuejun quickly denied, ”Jiahe wouldn’t think that way.” She was confident in her husband, ”Besides, Jiahe had already thought about returning before. He wouldn’t have his mother set up a house for us in Shangjing, nor would he have mom bring us here to live.”

Seeing Mo Xiaohong’s expression, Yiyi smiled and stopped saying anything further.

The trust and affection between the couple was something she was happy to see. She actually agreed with her mother, thinking it’d be nice if Mo Xiaohong’s family came to settle in Shangjing.

”Sister, actually, having your family come to Shangjing is quite nice. It would make visiting each other more convenient.”

However, Mo Xiaohong shook her head directly, ”No, I don’t want to move here at all.”

This time, Yiyi was a bit surprised.

”Why not, don’t you think Shangjing is nice?”

”Shangjing is indeed nice, but I still prefer the small place in Houshan Town, living simply and plainly every day isn’t so bad. Why insist on coming to Shangjing, just to have mom set up a house for us? What would that make us? Besides, both Jiahe and I can work stably in Houshan Town. If we come to Shangjing, will we have to trouble mom to find jobs for us as well?”

She and Zeng Jiahe didn’t have diplomas. In Houshan Town, they could barely find jobs, but in Shangjing, it would be hard to find decent jobs, so in the end, they’d still have to trouble her mother and Yiyi, and that’s something she doesn’t want at all.

Moreover, she indeed felt Houshan Town was better; there she could live a small, free life, and that’s what she wanted.

Upon hearing Mo Xiaohong, Yiyi couldn’t help but smile.

Her sister hadn’t changed, she was just like before, and she thought that was great. Besides, even if her sister’s family was in Houshan Town, she could just visit more often in the future.

After Yiyi left, Mo Xiaohong went to find Zeng Jiahe and told him what Mrs. Zeng was up to.

Zeng Jiahe was also taken aback with surprise, but in the end, determination flashed across his face, and he said to Mo Xiaohong, ”Xiao Hong, we’ll leave tomorrow.”

Hearing this, Mo Xiaohong smiled and said, ”Jiahe, you make the decision.”

They had already visited many places in Shangjing, and they had really had enough fun, so it was indeed time to go home.

When Zeng Jiahe found Mrs. Zeng, he directly told her they’d be leaving the next day.

Mrs. Zeng naturally strongly opposed.

”Jiahe, we haven’t finished touring Shangjing, why go back, I’m not going back.”

”Mom, do you want to stay?”

Upon hearing her son, Mrs. Zeng didn’t deny it. She directly said, ”Yes, I think Shangjing is great and indeed plan to have our family stay.”

Zeng Jiahe couldn’t help but chuckle lightly before saying, ”Then you stay if you want, Xiao Hong and I will take the child and leave tomorrow.” With that, he left without looking back.
