Zenless Zone Zero: The Almighty Incubus of Sixth Street

Once Astra picked up the notebook and opened it, she suddenly noticed something.

”Wait, Miss Miyabi, why is the first name Wise?”

Hearing this, Miyabi’s ears twitched slightly as she said, ”Miss Astra, you’ve reminded me. Every failure should leave a name.”

Miyabi then told Wise to sign it again.

However, Astra couldn’t resist her curiosity. After all, the person standing before her was Miyabi, the youngest Void Hunter.

In what aspect had Wise defeated her?

She really wanted to know.

Astra shot Wise a slightly reproachful look, wondering how he could have such an impressive accomplishment and never even told her about it.

”Miyabi, how did Wise’s first signature come about?” Astra finally asked.

If she didn’t get a clear answer, she definitely wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight.

After hearing the question, Wise’s pupils contracted slightly, as if he had recalled an experience that couldn’t be spoken of here.

”Regarding the first signature, I was utterly convinced of my defeat. Whether in terms of stamina or endurance, whether I initiated it or he did, I would always run out of energy first.”

Her words were calm, yet they carried a highly suggestive double meaning.

”Eh?”

Astra let out a confused sound.

”Even when I wanted to try again, Wise always recovered faster than I did.”

”So, what exactly are you referring to?”

Miyabi had said quite a lot, but Astra still didn’t understand.

”It’s when Wise was…”

”At the arcade, playing video games! Don’t let Miyabi’s formidable strength fool you. Her video game skills are a bit lacking, aren’t they, Miyabi?” Wise hurriedly interrupted, trying to change the subject.

”Yes, that’s right. I’ve also been practicing video games recently.”

Miyabi’s attention was diverted, and her answer made Astra mistakenly believe that was what she had been referring to all along.

”Pfft... Hahaha! I really didn’t expect you, Miss Void Hunter, to be such a cute person!”

”You’re cute too. Please sign.”

Astra smoothly signed her name for Miyabi, followed by Wise and Eous. Just then, Qingyi walked over and quietly said something to Zhu Yuan.

”This... how reliable is this information?”

”It’s so unbelievable. I mean, everyone suspects it’s a prank... Anyway, we should get back to work now.”

Qingyi calmly answered Zhu Yuan’s question.

Seeing their expressions, Miyabi asked with concern, ”Zhu Yuan, what happened?”

”We can’t tell whether it’s a prank or an actual crime. But since it’s in the city, Hollow Special Operations won’t be involved. Qingyi and I will head back to the precinct first. Agent Gulliver, you can return to your unit since you’re no longer participating in the competition. Thank you for all your help this time...”

Hearing Zhu Yuan’s words, Miyabi remained where she was and spoke directly.

”It’s fine. I found it interesting. We’ll consider participating next time... I’ve made a Bangboo before.”

”Great minds think alike, Miyabi.”

Qingyi strongly agreed with Miyabi’s idea, making Zhu Yuan wonder just how badly she wanted to get on stage.

”...My head hurts a little. Never mind. Wise, what about you guys? Do you want to come along?”

The earlier conversation had already given Zhu Yuan enough of a headache, but she still turned to Wise.

However, because he needed to wait for notifications about the upcoming competitions, Wise didn’t leave with them. Before departing, Qingyi subtly winked at him.

Wise found himself wondering what she meant by that.

Was she suggesting that she would be staying over at his place tonight?

Or was she simply teasing him again?

Before he could think any further, Zhu Yuan had already dragged Qingyi away.

After Zhu Yuan and Qingyi left, Astra eagerly resumed chatting with Miyabi.

”Actually, I’ve also made a Bangboo before.”

”I see. I wonder if the competition allows team entries. Perhaps we could give it a try.”

Miyabi suggested after hearing Astra’s words.

Astra seemed very interested, but before the two could delve deeper into the discussion, Wise interrupted to remind them that they still needed to speak with the guide.

When they arrived in front of Paige again, she became particularly excited upon seeing Eous, almost to the point of looking frantic for a moment.

In any case, after explaining the theme of the next competition, Paige had to attend to other duties. She reluctantly glanced at Eous, clearly wanting to touch him.

But a faint call came from afar, and she eventually hurried off.

”Hmm... What do you think, Eous? What does ’star quality’ mean to you?”

Astra pondered the theme. Wise felt the answer should have been obvious, considering a genuine superstar was standing right beside him.

”Hmm... what do you guys think ’star quality’ is?”

The sudden question made Wise and Eous pause. After some thought, Eous was the first to answer.

”Ehn... Ehn-ne? Noo-Eh? (...Shining brightly? If a Bangboo wants to dazzle people... maybe we can install external LEDs? A reflective coating might work too...)”

’So, he took it literally?’

Wise couldn’t help but grumble inwardly.

Astra heard the answer and immediately shook her head.

”Looks like more training is needed. Eous, you’ll be having a very important lesson today!”

”Are you going to teach him?” Wise asked.

”Nope~ Well, I can’t do it alone. Eous needs to learn who the real target of someone standing on a stage is.”

As she spoke, Astra glanced at the time.

”We probably have enough time for that. Eous, Wise, come with me.”

Soon after, relying on Evelyn’s driving skills to weave through the rush-hour traffic, they quickly arrived at a familiar place.

”We’re here~”

After getting out of the car, Astra looked unusually happy.

Wise glanced around and couldn’t help but ask, ”Astra, you really seem to like this place.”

”Yeah, I really do. Whenever I’m upset or feeling lost... I think about this place. Here, I can remember why I wanted to sing for everyone in the first place.”

”Even you get down sometimes, huh?”

”Of course. Eve takes great care of me... but everyone has their troubles. Didn’t you rescue me from mine once?”

Reverb Arena was that kind of place for Astra. It couldn’t make her worries disappear, but it could remind her of what truly mattered.

”So... your fans here are important to you?”

”That’s right. People who perform on stage can’t forget about the audience watching them. Eous has been practicing hard lately, but he hasn’t really interacted with an audience much, has he?”

Astra looked at Eous beside her.

That was indeed true. The only fan he had really spoken to so far was Paige, the event guide.
