Zenless Zone Zero: The Almighty Incubus of Sixth Street

After Astra’s persuasion, Eous agreed to participate in the competition, and as his guardians, the siblings naturally chose to support him.

”Let Eve handle the registration. We just need to figure out how to win each round of the competition, and that’s it~” Astra said to the siblings.

”Also… we don’t have much time left to prepare. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been in such a hurry to find you two today…”

”Not much? How much?” Belle asked.

”Hmm… one day?” Astra answered hesitantly.

Belle was a bit speechless upon hearing that, but she still tried to comfort herself.

”It’s fine. At least it doesn’t start in half an hour.”

”That’s true, but the competition starts tomorrow. Is there really enough time to prepare?”

Wise looked at Astra with some concern, but she confidently patted her chest.

”Don’t worry, I’ve formulated the perfect strategy to win! Ridu’s Got Boo is just a Bangboo beauty contest. And it’s simple. It’s a five-day competition with one round each day. As long as we make it to the final round on Gilded Carrot Day and defeat the final opponent, victory will be ours!”

Astra’s explanation was indeed very simple, but it also showed just how confident she was.

She planned to change Eous’s appearance for every round of the competition.

The reason a champion could be decided in five rounds was that the preliminary selection and group stages on the first two days were largely determined by lot.

As long as they made it to the third day, they would be among the top eight.

With such a strong element of randomness, if Fairy were here, she would probably come up with eighteen different ways to mock the lack of rigor in the competition’s system.

”Don’t worry, I’m a super lucky person! With me around, we’ll have more than enough luck to deal with whatever comes our way. Also, I’ll cover all the costs related to the costume changes! I can just bill Eve anyway~ And I’ve already prepared the first set of costume accessories for the competition!”

Those accessories had been designed by Astra herself based on the latest quarterly trends in Bangboo appearances, and they were currently with Evelyn.

Astra believed Eous would definitely like them too. However, due to the limited time, even Evelyn could only customize a single set.

It would be unrealistic to achieve Astra’s plan of changing Eous’s appearance accessories for every round of the competition.

At times like this, they would need to ask their good neighbors on Sixth Street for help.

”As expected of Phaeton, always so reliable. It’s really… troublesome to bother you all again this time…”

”Eh~ What do you mean by ’bother again’? Does Eve think my idea is troublesome?”

Before Evelyn could finish speaking, Astra looked at her with feigned displeasure.

Seeing this, Evelyn’s mood immediately dropped.

”…That’s not what I meant…”

”It’s not troublesome, and besides, we also find this matter quite interesting.”

Wise spoke up to help resolve the situation, and Evelyn immediately cast him a grateful look.

Astra also stopped pressing the issue upon hearing that.

”Exactly! Wise is so kind. I didn’t worry for a second that you wouldn’t agree to help me~”

Astra laughed gleefully, while Evelyn, judging from the current situation, kindly reminded her.

”I’ll leave the participation matters to you. Miss Yao may tell you she’ll help too, but it’s best not to rely on her too much.”

”Wait, wait, how can you say that about me?”

”You also need to prepare for the Yearlight Ceremony. I’ll try my best to adjust your schedule to give you time to handle the Ridu’s Got Boo matters with Wise.”

Before Astra could finish speaking, Evelyn took out her work schedule, leaving Astra speechless and only able to nod in disappointment.

”So, for most things, I’m afraid I’ll have to trouble you all.”

”Hmm, no problem.”

Besides, it was already impressive that Evelyn had allowed Astra to be here in the first place.

”…Your tone is so strange! I won’t be a hands-off manager. I’ll work hard to help Wise~”

”Then we’ll trouble you, Astra.”

Wise’s single comforting sentence made Astra happy again.

”If you need anything else, find me anytime. Please, you must win that championship… Thank you in advance, Wise,” Evelyn said.

”Thank me for what?”

Evelyn’s words left Wise a little confused.

”Thank you for… fulfilling Astra’s wish. You always manage to do that…”

”I’m very happy to have this opportunity. And besides, isn’t that your wish too?” he said with a gentle smile.

”Oh dear…”

”Hmm… yes.”

Wise’s words made both Astra and Evelyn show varying degrees of shyness, and the atmosphere suddenly fell quiet.

”Enhe-nu, na-uh? (Didn’t she say we were changing accessories? Why did you all suddenly stop talking? And why are your faces red…?)”

After Eous’s two consecutive questions, Astra, unable to bear the awkward atmosphere any longer, quickly spoke up to change the subject.

”Oh! Eous is right. Accessories, accessories! We need to see the accessories~ Eous, quickly see if you like them!”

Then, after Evelyn gave a slightly embarrassed cough, she took out a set of Bangboo accessories.

”Ehn-ne... (All, all pink…! This is too embarrassing…!)”

Eous was initially resistant, but after Astra, Belle, Wise, and the others praised and encouraged him, he ultimately didn’t refuse.

After resolving the matter, Astra and Evelyn left to attend to their New Year’s work.

After returning home, the siblings briefly researched Ridu’s Got Boo.

It had to be said that although Astra seemed impulsive and spontaneous, the strategy she proposed was quite effective, though also very expensive.

After a night’s rest, it was the day of the preliminary selection for Ridu’s Got Boo. As agreed with Astra, they arrived at the Starloop Tower.

”You’re all so early! Good thing I listened to Eve and left early. How did you sleep yesterday~? Do you need me to teach Eous a few more stage tips before the competition?”

”In that case, that would be a great help,” Belle said with a hint of helplessness.

”Huh, why does your tone sound a bit… Is the preparation not going smoothly?”

Astra looked at the two siblings and one Bangboo in front of her with confusion, and Wise explained.

”Eous is still a bit shy.”

”Oh right~ Eous, why aren’t you wearing your ’new clothes’? Why don’t you change into them now? They’ll definitely attract everyone’s attention~”

”Eh-ne, Nha-ne! … (Wise… save, save me… You said I could change before the competition…)”

Faced with Eous’s plea for help, the siblings couldn’t bear to refuse. Astra even said that the two of them indulged Eous too much.

”But you also said that mindset is very important, didn’t you, Astra?” Wise said.

”Alright, alright~ Since you said so, Eve, book a restaurant! Uh, is there enough time today?”

Astra turned to look at Evelyn, who shook her head helplessly.

”No time. I’ll book it for dinner on the second day of Gilded Carrot Day.”

However, this conversation left the siblings a bit confused.
