Primordial Heir: Nine Stars

Meanwhile, in another part of Glory Academy, the air was different. It wasn’t the charged, competitive energy of the training grounds, or the quiet tension of a private pavilion of Elysia Raizen. Here, in a sprawling personal manor reserved for the Student Council Vice President, the atmosphere was one of refined power. This was the domain of Prince Kaelen Samael, crown prince of the Rainfelt Empire, and heir to the Samael clan.

Inside a sunlit pavilion in the manor’s private gardens, Kaelen sat with perfect, effortless posture. He had the iconic Samael traits: hair like banked coals, a deep, vibrant red, and eyes the color of molten amber. His features were sharp and handsome, carrying the weight of a future emperor with an easy grace. Across from him, seated with uncharacteristic stillness, was his younger sister, Princess Elreth.

The usual fire in Elreth’s demeanor was banked. Here, before her brother, the arrogant princess was tempered, respectful. She listened, her hands folded in her lap.

Kaelen took a slow sip from a delicate porcelain cup, the steam curling around his face. ”The reports from our observers are conclusive, little flame,” he began, his voice calm and melodic. ”Nero Adams is not just an anomaly. He is a monster in the making. A Red Knight who fights at the Purple level. A wielder of two distinct laws. His value is… incalculable.”

Elreth nodded slightly. She had seen it herself, felt the heat of his power during their spar.

”Our father, the Emperor, has reviewed the intelligence,” Kaelen continued, setting his cup down with a soft click. ”His orders are explicit. We cannot afford to let this asset fall into the hands of another Great Clan. The Raizen have already made their move and failed for now, they wouldn’t relent, he was once part of their clan after all. The Leclairs and Undines have thrown their support behind him. The balance is tipping.”

He looked directly at her, his orange eyes holding a gentle but unwavering seriousness. ”The command is for you, Elreth. You are to secure him for the Samael lineage. By any means necessary. Father was quite clear. He wishes for you to wed Nero. To bind him to us with vows, and with blood.”

The words hung in the fragrant air. Wed Nero. Bore his children.

Elreth’s spine straightened. A flicker of her usual spirit sparked in her eyes, but she kept her voice level. ”He is not a prize stallion to be bred, brother. Nor a trophy to be won.”

”He is a force of nature,” Kaelen corrected softly. ”And forces of nature must be channeled, or they cause unpredictable destruction. This is not merely our father’s ambition. It is the calculus of survival for our empire. With his potential added to our bloodline, the Samael reign could usher in a golden age that lasts a millennium. His children would be legends.”

He leaned forward slightly, his expression earnest. ”I know this is a heavy burden. To be asked to give your heart, your future, for the sake of the throne. It is the price of our blood, Elreth. I do not give you this order lightly.”

There was a long silence. Elreth looked down at her own hands, then out at the meticulously manicured garden. She thought of Nero—not as an asset, but as the intense, focused young man who had matched her in a duel. The one who looked at the Ice Queen with a devotion that was both fascinating and frustrating. She thought of being ordered to seduce him, to trap him. The very idea felt like ash in her mouth.

She looked back at her brother, the fire in her gaze now a steady, determined glow. ”I understand the stakes, Kaelen. I understand my duty to our clan and our empire. I will not disobey our father’s will… but I will follow my own path to achieve it.”

Kaelen’s eyebrows raised slightly, a faint, intrigued smile touching his lips. ”Oh?”

”I will not play the scheming seductress,” Elreth stated, her voice gaining strength. ”I will not use cheap tricks or political traps. If I am to win him, it will be by being someone he chooses to stand beside. Not a chain, but a partner. I will earn his respect on the training ground. I will prove my worth in the missions we share. I will make him see that the future he could have with the Samael is not a cage, but a throne he can help build. I will make him want to join us.”

She met her brother’s gaze squarely. ”That is how I will secure him. Not by order, but by choice. My way.”

Kaelen watched her, his expression unreadable for a moment. Then, the smile widened, warming his entire face. He leaned back, a soft chuckle escaping him. It was a sound of genuine affection and pride.

”There she is,” he said warmly. ”There is the fire of the Samael. Not just a pretty flame, but a forge fire.” He nodded, his decision made. ”Very well, little flame. You have my blessing to pursue this your way. Our father commands the objective. I trust you to find the path.”

He waved a hand dismissively. ”Forget the command to ’wed’ him. Consider it a suggestion. Your mission is to build an unbreakable bond of loyalty and alliance between Nero Adams and House Samael. How you forge that bond… is your strategy to devise.”

The immense pressure in the room seemed to lift. Elreth let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding. She hadn’t defied her family; she had negotiated her terms of engagement.

”Thank you, brother,” she said, the docile mask gone, replaced by a grateful, determined smile.

”Do not thank me yet,” Kaelen said, his eyes twinkling. ”You have chosen the harder path. Winning a man’s heart is a far more complex battle than winning his hand by decree. And you are not the only one on this battlefield. The Undine girl is formidable, and her claim is deeply personal.”

Elreth’s chin lifted, the familiar competitive spark returning full force. ”Then it will be a worthy contest. I do not fear a challenge.”

Kaelen laughed, a rich, happy sound. ”I know you don’t. Now, go. Plan your campaign. And remember,” he added, his tone turning gently serious once more, ”the Raizen are not idle. Elysia does not accept failure. Your path may become dangerous. Your friendship with him may be the shield you both need.”

Elreth stood, giving her brother a respectful, deep nod that was both familial and royal. ”I understand.”

As she walked from the pavilion, her step was lighter, her mind already racing. The objective was set, but the game had changed.
