Martial God Asura

Chapter 6332: Negotiation

Zhao Daobin was shocked because he had watched the clan chief grow up. He knew that Eighth Zhao had never kneeled to anyone other than his deceased parents and their ancestors.

It was unthinkable to Zhao Daobin that he would kneel to Chu Feng.

Eighth Zhao stood up and said, “Young friend Chu Feng, my grandparents were dead by the time I was born. I have never kneeled to anyone other than my parents. I kneeled to you not just to preserve our friendship but also for my daughter, Zhuyin, and the Zhao Immortal Clan. I could have coerced you into doing my bidding, but it’s nowhere as effective as convincing you.”

“So, you plan to coerce me if I refuse?” Chu Feng pointed out what was between the lines.

“While I have a high opinion of you, I shoulder my clan’s fate. I can even give up my life for my clan. Needless to say, I won’t hesitate to take someone’s life too,” Eighth Zhao replied.

“Chu Feng, shall I take you away now?” the Divine Deer asked.

“It’s fine for now, elder.” Chu Feng told the Divine Deer before addressing Eighth Zhao. “I have an idea of what’s happening, but I still don’t have the full picture. Why don’t you share the details with me? I’ll reconsider it.”

“Sure.”

Eighth Zhao took out an ancient scroll that had been passed down from the Ancient Era. It was a method that predecessors in the Ancient Era had devised.

According to the scroll, there were three steps to clearing the Fortuitous Bloodline Mountain.

The first step was to activate the formation.

The second step was to grasp the formation energy.

The third step was to assimilate the formation energy.

The third step was the simplest. It simply involved waiting for the Fortuitous Sun to rise to the top of the sky, though it required the help of others who had activated the formation.

The second step was also fairly simple. One just had to fuse the energies that others had gathered in the trial.

The hardest hurdle was the first step, activation. It required talented individuals to activate and grasp the formations, before offering up the powerful formations energies they had obtained to an individual.

“Does Zhao Zhuyin know about this?” Chu Feng asked.

“I was about to talk to you about that. She knows we have made elaborate preparations, but she doesn’t know we’ll be siphoning other people’s formation energies. Given Zhuyin’s character, she will refuse it if she learns about it. That’s why I need you to persuade her,” Eighth Zhao said.

“You need me to persuade your daughter, too? That’s another price,” Chu Feng replied.

“Feel free to state your demands. I can add more if it’s not enough,” Eighth Zhao said as he passed the Cosmos Sack to Chu Feng.

This time, Chu Feng accepted it. He had browsed through the treasures; it was not of much use to him, but there was no reason for him to turn it down.

“My other condition is for you to release everyone else,” Chu Feng said.

“That won’t do.” Eighth Zhao shook his head.

“The fusion process poses a threat to one’s life. Not everyone can withstand the pressure. Besides, the formation energy I have gathered should be enough,” Chu Feng replied.

“I have to ensure everything goes well,” Eighth Zhao insisted.

“I can guarantee Zhao Zhuyin’s success, and my formation energy is enough to advance her bloodline, but I don’t want my friends to risk their lives and others to die for this,” Chu Feng said.

“I understand. You won’t help us unless I free them,” Eighth Zhao pointed out.

“That’s right.” Chu Feng nodded.

“You’re threatening me.”

“You can think of it that way.”

“I can also threaten you with your friends’ lives.”

“No, you can’t. I can leave right now with my friends if I want to, and you can’t stop me. Ask your enforcement elder how I rescued him from the God Clan that day.”

“I’ve already heard the story from Elder Daobin. Do you take me to be the same as the God Clansmen? If I was there, I would have destroyed the God Clan.”

“You can give it a try if you doubt me.”

Eighth Zhao stared at Chu Feng. Seeing the latter’s confident demeanor, he suddenly laughed. “Young friend Chu Feng, there’s no need to do this when we can talk things out. Why don’t we do this? You first help Zhuyin activate the fusion formation, and I’ll be able to verify whether the energy Zhuyin obtains is sufficient. If what you said is true, I’ll let your friends go.

“As for the others, you aren’t close to them. I’ll set up a dueling ring and let them freely pick anyone from my clan who is of the same cultivation level as them to fight with. As long as they win, I’ll let them leave. What do you think?”

“The format is fine, but you mustn’t take their lives,” Chu Feng said.

“Of course.” Eighth Zhao smiled.

“All right, let’s do that then.”

“I’ll be troubling you to talk to Zhuyin, young friend Chu Feng.”

“All right, but they have to come with me.”

Chu Feng had to ensure that the Immortal Sea Fish Clan’s Clan Chief and the others remained in his vision.

“This way.”

Eighth Zhao led the way, and Chu Feng’s group followed him.

On the way, Little Fishy’s grandfather sent a voice transmission to Chu Feng, saying, “Don’t force yourself, young friend Chu Feng. If it comes down to it, I’ll put my life on the line to create an opening for you to escape.”

Little Fishy’s parents also sent a similar message to him.

“Don’t worry, elders. This matter might be tricky, but it won’t threaten my life. Besides, Brother Shaoyu and Yu’er have already grasped the formation energy, and they’ll receive the benefit once the Fortuitous Sun rises to the top. Not to mention I require this energy too,” Chu Feng explained.

“But aren’t you going to offer your energy to Zhao Zhuyin?” Little Fishy’s parents and grandfather were confused.

“I have my ways. You don’t have to worry about me,” Chu Feng replied.

Seeing Chu Feng’s confidence, Little Fishy’s grandfather and parents could only let things slip. They knew deep down that even if they risked their lives, their chances of escaping from Eighth Zhao remained slim.

Qin Xuan didn’t bother saying a word because he knew there was nothing he could do to help. His eyes brimmed with worry and frustration.

It didn’t take them long to find Zhao Zhuyin. The latter was seated inside a special palace filled with formations.

Zhao Zhuyin reacted more vehemently than Chu Feng had expected when she learned what they were going to do.

“No way! I disagree!”
