Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 924: Chapter 924: Making the Best of a Mistake

After shaking hands, Bai Xiaosheng invited the three from the Han family to sit down.

Lin Weiwei brought over the tea.

During this time, Bai Xiaosheng also paid attention to Han Chengyi, noticing that he was not too enthusiastic about him, which he found somewhat strange.

”I mean, I’m in the Affairs Department, and now I’m somewhat famous. This Han Chengyi acts as if he doesn’t know who I am. Han Chengren knows my name, so didn’t he mention me when they were coming over?” Bai Xiaosheng wondered to himself.

It wasn’t that Bai Xiaosheng was narcissistic.

He had first taken care of Chen Jiutian and Chen Jiuzheng, then had a confrontation with Lin Yu, stirring up major commotion in the Affairs Department numerous times.

Even Sir Xiahou Qi, the president of the Greater China Region, joked that he was a household name, with a wide-reaching reputation.

Even if that was an exaggeration, at the very least, he should have been heard of and recognized as ”one of us.”

Moreover, Han Chengren had said that Han Chengyi held an ”important position” in the Greater China Region!

The Han family seemed quite proud of that.

So what kind of remarkable position was it?

Bai Xiaosheng thought and thought and couldn’t figure it out.

The headquarters of the Zhenbei Group in the Greater China Region are actually divided into two parts, with the Affairs Department being one of them. However, it occupies over eighty percent of the personnel and functions, so much so that when one mentions the headquarters, it’s almost synonymous with the Affairs Department.

The rest are marginalized.

Could it be that this Han Chengyi is from that marginalized remainder?

Bai Xiaosheng could only think in that direction.

”Regarding yesterday’s incident, I heard about it from Minghao,” said Han Chengren with earnest words and sincere expression as he sat down, ”Therefore, I’ve brought my son to express our gratitude!”

Upon hearing this, Han Minghao was stunned.

His father didn’t come to stand up for him, which was one thing, but to actually come and express gratitude?

Grateful for what?

Grateful that this asshole made him dance to ”Little Apple” in front of the mayor and hundreds of people?

Dad, did you take the wrong medicine? Han Minghao really wanted to ask.

”Oh?” Bai Xiaosheng looked at Han Chengren with a smile that was not quite a smile, ”Mr. Han, where is this coming from?”

Han Chengren smiled, ”Those young punks you taught a lesson, along with their parents, they feel that you’ve humiliated them, made them lose face, and it might even affect the image of their parents and their companies, so they hold a grudge against you.”

”I however, will not! If you hadn’t cleverly resolved that situation with an absurd ending. Just the charge of illegal assembly, in front of the mayor, would have been enough to send those kids to juvenile detention! And nobody’s intervention would have helped,” Han Chengren said, casting a cold glance at his son.

Han Minghao shivered abruptly.

Indeed!

If he and his friends hadn’t been made to lose face publicly, upon closer examination, they would have been detained!

From this perspective, this Mr. Bai really did save them!

Han Chengyi nodded slightly as well.

He too agreed with his older brother’s words, and had come to this realization.

His visit this time was for assessing and befriending, one of the reasons, but his brother Han Chengren also had the intention of expressing gratitude.

”How rare it is for Mr. Han to be so profoundly understanding!” Bai Xiaosheng also exclaimed.

This Han Chengren was very composed and had a unique perspective, quite remarkable!

”Are you in Yunhai to visit relatives or for tourism?” Han Chengren asked with a smile, ”If it’s the latter, our Han family’s enterprise has many businesses related to tourism and entertainment, and we can ensure you have a great time in Yunhai.”

Han Chengren’s initial statement was an expression of gratitude, but it naturally transitioned into an offer of repayment, with an added probe and a display of strength.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled, ”It was merely a coincidence yesterday, and no thanks are needed. My visit to Yunhai is partly for a vacation, but also for inspection.”

Bai Xiaosheng spoke with a double meaning.

He too was probing, while carefully observing Han Chengyi.

If the other party knew he was an Affairs Officer and pretended not to know, with an ulterior motive, upon hearing the second half of his statement, there would surely be a reaction.

Even if it was just a subtle change deep in his eyes, others might not notice, but Bai Xiaosheng, if he was paying attention, would be able to see it!

”This is the difference between someone trained by the system and someone who isn’t!”

As Bai Xiaosheng spoke, he appropriately looked towards Han Chengyi.

However, he failed to find the expected changes in Han Chengyi’s eyes—surprise, anxiety, gravity—nothing was there.

Instead, Bai Xiaosheng saw a glimmer of excitement.

It seemed as if Han Chengyi had heard something that interested him.

Bai Xiaosheng was somewhat puzzled.

”Does your family have business in Yunhai, or are you here to investigate and planning to enter the Yunhai market?” Han Chengyi, seeing Bai Xiaosheng looking at him, immediately asked with a smile.

This question took Bai Xiaosheng aback, as he couldn’t shake the feeling that Han Chengyi mistook him for someone else.

Mistaken for someone coming to Yunhai to do business?

”I’m not sure about the recent economic situation in Yunhai. I’ve heard the Zhenbei Group has many enterprises here, with Yunyu Industrial as the leader.”

Bai Xiaosheng then looked towards Han Chengren, smiling and said, ”I’ve also heard that Mr. Han Dong is the president of the Yunhai Enterprise Federation, and Mr. Han Chengren is also holding an important position within it. I’m curious about the current situation of all the Zhenbei Group enterprises in Yunhai. Of course, I’m not trying to probe for any commercial intelligence, just inquiring... investigating!”

Since the other party had mistaken his identity, he decided to go along and ask.

”Ah, you’ve come to the right person, I can indeed give you an introduction,” Han Chengren said with a laugh.

If Han Chengren could secure additional business for other enterprises in the group, his Yunyu Industrial could likewise expect reciprocation from these sibling enterprises.

This was also a customary convention amongst the Yunhai Enterprise Federation.

”Mr. Han, just because the enterprises all belong to your group, don’t just mention the good and omit the bad. I have done some preliminary research on my own,” Bai Xiaosheng said playfully.

He gave Han Chengren a sort of ”pre-emptive shot.”

”Ha ha, look at what you’re saying! Alright then, I’ll discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each enterprise with you,” said Han Chengren. ”May I know which industries you’re interested in?”

Facilitating Bai Xiaosheng’s cooperation with other corporate groups not only allowed Han Chengren to benefit from these enterprises but also paved the way for building relations with the power backing Bai Xiaosheng—an objective of their trip.

Thus, Han Chengren was extremely enthusiastic.

”Any industry is fine! The industries I’m involved in are not limited!” Bai Xiaosheng said with a smile.

The eyes of Han Chengren and Han Chengyi sparkled, indicating the powerful background of the other party.

However, Han Minghao secretly curled his lip, thinking Bai Xiaosheng was boasting.

”Good!”

Han Chengren nodded and began introducing Bai Xiaosheng to the situation of each enterprise group in Yunhai, one by one.

Honestly presenting both their advantages and disadvantages to Bai Xiaosheng.

For an entire hour, Bai Xiaosheng listened and questioned, hitting the nail on the head with each query.

This surprised Han Chengren and Han Chengyi; the groundwork had been laid so meticulously!

In fact, Bai Xiaosheng had investigated the basic information early on; now, he was digging for finer details.

Through this conversation, Bai Xiaosheng gained quite an understanding of some matters.

Han Chengren, his mouth dry and tongue parched after talking, finally finished.

He smiled and asked, ”I wonder, are you interested in cooperating with any of those enterprises?”

Bai Xiaosheng smiled.

Misidentification couldn’t last long; they might see through it in minutes after returning.

And Bai Xiaosheng didn’t expect to get anything done based on their misrecognition.

Now that Han Chengyi, this ”insider,” had appeared, and after understanding the situation fully, it was time to lay the cards on the table.

”Regarding cooperation, you can rest assured. As a subordinate of Zhenbei Group’s Greater China Region Headquarters, I do represent Zhenbei Group!” Han Chengren even boasted boldly to facilitate cooperation.

”Mr. Han can really represent the Group?” Bai Xiaosheng asked Han Chengyi with a smile.

Han Chengyi neither confirmed nor denied, giving Bai Xiaosheng an inscrutable smile.

Bai Xiaosheng laughed.

”What a coincidence, I am from the Affairs Office. Since you can represent the Group, should I be calling you my leader?”
