Rejected by My Fiancé, I Accidentally Carried His Mother's Heir (GL)

Eiravelle lay tangled in the sheets with Qazaethel, their limbs are intertwined in a knot of silk and skin that seemed impossible to undo even if she had wanted to. The Sovereign’s mouth moved against hers with a hunger that had been building for hours, perhaps days, deepening the kiss until Eiravelle felt the world narrowing down to nothing but the heat of Qazaethel’s lips and the weight of her body pressing down from above.

The scent of Alpha pheromones filled the air, thick and intoxicating, wrapping around Eiravelle’s senses like smoke until she could barely remember why she had tried to avoid the Sovereign tonight of all nights.

She knew she should be pushing Qazaethel away. The thought flickered through her mind like a candle flame struggling against a draft, there and then nearly gone, replaced by the overwhelming instinct that screamed through her omega blood.

Submit. The word thrummed in her veins, ancient and undeniable, overriding every lesson she had learned about propriety and the delicate balance of court politics. Tonight was not supposed to be hers. Tonight, Qazaethel belonged to the Empress, to the grand wedding that had united two kingdoms and secured the future of the realm.

Yet here they were, in Eiravelle’s modest chambers rather than the royal bridal suite, breaking every protocol that had been established when Eiravelle had been officially named concubine two months ago.

The pheromones of lust mingled in the air, mixing with their sweat and heat until the room felt stifling despite the cool evening breeze that drifted through the open door of the balcony. Eiravelle could smell her own arousal, sweet and heavy, intertwining with Qazaethel’s dark, commanding scent until the air itself seemed to shimmer with desire.

It was too much and not enough, a sensory overload that made her head spin and her thoughts scatter like leaves in a storm. Her body knew its Alpha, recognized the mate it craved, and it cared nothing for the propriety of thrones and marriage contracts.

Qazaethel’s hand slid along her side, her palm was hot through the thin fabric of her nightgown, and Eiravelle arched into the touch before her mind could catch up to her body’s betrayal. The Sovereign’s thigh pressed between her legs, applying a steady pressure that made Eiravelle’s breath hitch in her throat, and she found herself grinding against the hard muscle instinctively, seeking friction even as her conscience screamed at her to stop.

Eiravelle broke the kiss with a gasp, turning her head to the side to drag in a desperate breath of air that did nothing to clear her head. ”Your Majesty,” she breathed, the honorific was trembling on her lips, ”this is wrong.”

The words came out softer than she intended, lacking the conviction they needed. How could she speak of right and wrong when her entire body was singing and yearning for Qazaethel’s touch, when every nerve ending was alive and begging for more?

But duty remained, stubborn and cruel, reminding her of the Empress waiting in the dragon wing of the palace, and the wedding that had taken place only hours before in the grand cathedral with all the nobility of the realm in attendance. Everyone knew Eiravelle was Qazaethel’s concubine. Everyone knew the child growing in her belly belonged to the Sovereign.

It was no secret, not when the arrangement had been formally recognized and the court physicians had publicly confirmed the pregnancy. Yet there were still rules, still expectations, and the first night of the royal marriage was meant to belong to the Empress alone.

Qazaethel did not pull back. Instead, she followed Eiravelle’s retreat, pressing a kiss to the corner of her mouth, then her jaw, then the sensitive spot just below her ear. ”It’s not wrong, Eiravelle,” she whispered, and the vibration of her lips against Eiravelle’s skin sent a shiver racing down her spine. ”Nothing between us could ever be wrong.”

”But today is your wedding.” Eiravelle tried to summon the strength to push at Qazaethel’s shoulders, but her hands only curled into the fabric of the Sovereign’s tunic, pulling her closer instead of shoving her away. ”You... You should be with the Empress, not... Not here.”

Even as she spoke, she felt the hard evidence of Qazaethel’s desire settling between her thighs, a firm pressure that made her breath catch in her throat. The Alpha had shifted her weight, settling fully on top of Eiravelle until she was trapped beneath the solid, unyielding warmth of Qazaethel’s body.

The mattress dipped under their combined weight, and Eiravelle’s back arched involuntarily, pressing her belly against Qazaethel’s stomach in a way that made both of them freeze for a heartbeat.

”Haah,” Eiravelle gasped, her eyes are fluttering shut as sensation overwhelmed reason. ”You should be with the Empress, not... Not here.”

She tried to regain some semblance of control, reaching for the logical arguments that had seemed so compelling when she had decided to avoid the wedding feast early, determined to give Qazaethel and her new wife the space to begin their marriage properly.

But it was useless. Her omega instincts were fully awake now, drowning out the voice of caution with a biological imperative, older than courts and weddings and political alliances. The Empress had married Qazaethel knowing full well that Eiravelle was already carrying the Sovereign’s child, knowing that the concubine held a place in Qazaethel’s heart that no political marriage could displace.

Eiravelle could not shake the guilt that clawed at her chest whenever she thought of the woman sitting alone in the bridal suite while they lay here like this.

Qazaethel lifted her head, her dark eyes are gleaming in the candlelight with an intensity that made Eiravelle’s breath hitch. She moved with deliberate slowness, reaching up to capture both of Eiravelle’s wrists in one strong hand.

Eiravelle did not resist as Qazaethel lifted her arms above her head and pinned them there against the pillows, the position stretching her body out beneath the Alpha in a display of submission that felt terrifyingly natural.

”Really?” Qazaethel’s voice was low, rough with desire but carrying an undercurrent of something gentler, almost amused. She leaned down until her breath ghosted across Eiravelle’s lips, so close that Eiravelle could count every dark lash framing those impossible eyes. ”But you are not protesting, and your body is reacting like this to me.”

To emphasize her point, Qazaethel shifted her hips, pressing more firmly against the cradle of Eiravelle’s thighs. Eiravelle bit back a moan, her fingers were curling against the grip on her wrists. She was wet, embarrassingly so, and she knew Qazaethel could smell it, could read the truth of her desire in the pheromones that had to be flooding the room by now.

The scent of her own arousal was mixing with Qazaethel’s Alpha musk until Eiravelle could barely think straight, until every breath she took was saturated with the chemical promise of what they could be doing if she would just stop talking and surrender.

Qazaethel released one wrist to trail her hand down the length of Eiravelle’s raised arm, her touch was light enough to raise gooseflesh in its wake. She kissed Eiravelle’s cheek, then the corner of her mouth, then the pulse point hammering in her throat. ”I see that your belly has been growing slightly swollen this past month,” she murmured, her hand was coming to rest on the gentle curve of Eiravelle’s stomach.

The touch was feather-light, reverent, and it shattered something inside Eiravelle’s chest. She had been so self-conscious about the changes in her body, watching as her waist thickened and her dresses had to be let out, aware of the courtiers’ eyes following her through the halls.

But Qazaethel had never shown anything but pride and possessiveness when she looked at the evidence of their child growing within her. The pregnancy was known to all—the physicians had confirmed it publicly, and the Empress herself had acknowledged that the concubine carried the Sovereign’s heir.

It was a political reality as much as a biological one, yet in moments like this, it felt deeply personal, a bond between the three of them that transcended court formalities.

”Your Majesty,” Eiravelle whispered, but the protest died in her throat as Qazaethel’s hand moved in slow, soothing circles over the small swell of her pregnant belly.

There was no shame in it, not when the arrangement had been negotiated and agreed upon before the wedding contracts were ever signed. Yet tonight, on the wedding night itself, Eiravelle felt the weight of her position more heavily than ever before. She was the concubine, the carrier of the heir, the omega who had caught the Sovereign’s heart, but she was not the wife. She was not the one waiting in the bridal suite with the crown on her head and the kingdom’s future in her hands.

Qazaethel’s hand stilled, then pressed more firmly, and all Eiravelle could do was moan and arch upward, her trapped wrist straining against the hold as pleasure rippled through her. Every touch Qazaethel gave her felt like fire, burning away the last of her resistance until the omega was left in a dizzy state where nothing existed except the woman above her and the child between them.

The pheromones were overwhelming now, a heady cocktail of Alpha command and omega’s surrender that made rational thought nearly impossible. Eiravelle’s head fell back against the pillows, her throat was exposed and vulnerable, and she felt Qazaethel’s gaze like a physical touch as it roamed over her skin.

”Eiravelle,” Qazaethel said, and there was a note in her voice that cut through the haze of lust, something serious and solemn that demanded attention.

Eiravelle forced her eyes open, meeting Qazaethel’s gaze. The frenzy was still there, the Alpha’s pupils were blown wide with desire, but there was clarity too, and a question that made Eiravelle’s heart stutter in her chest. Qazaethel’s grip on her wrists loosened, though she did not release her entirely, and her free hand came up to cup Eiravelle’s cheek with a gentleness that seemed impossible given the tension coiling in her shoulders.

”May I have your consent?” Qazaethel asked, and her voice was steady despite the tremor in her hands that spoke of the effort it cost her to pause, to ask, and to wait. ”It’s okay to say no. If you say no, I will stop and I will leave.”

The words struck Eiravelle like a splash of cold water against overheated skin. She felt as though she had fallen into a winter lake, the shock of it was clearing her head even as her body cried out at the sudden distance between them.

She stared up at Qazaethel, at the woman who held absolute power over an empire, who commanded armies and shaped the fate of nations, and who was now lying above her with her heart in her eyes, genuinely prepared to walk away if that was what Eiravelle wanted.

In that moment, Eiravelle saw how Qazaethel truly respected her boundary and autonomy, that even in her frenzy-lust state, she had gathered the courage to ask for consent. It was not the first time Qazaethel had asked, would not be the last, but tonight the question carried extra weight.

Tonight, Qazaethel had taken a wife in a ceremony witnessed by thousands, had made vows before the gods, and still she was here asking Eiravelle if she wanted this, truly wanted this, with no obligation and no expectation.

”I...” Eiravelle paused and averted her gaze, unable to bear the intensity of Qazaethel’s stare. Her mind raced, caught between the omega instinct that screamed for her to submit and the lingering guilt that whispered she was stealing something that did not belong to her.

The Empress was beautiful, accomplished, politically powerful—the perfect match for a Sovereign. Eiravelle was just a concubine, an omega who had caught the Queen’s eye during a winter festival, who carried her child but not her crown. What right did she have to monopolize Qazaethel on this night of all nights?

Qazaethel frowned, and Eiravelle felt the shift in her immediately, the way her shoulders tensed and her hand withdrew slightly from where it had been cradling her cheek.

The Sovereign was thinking Eiravelle did not want her, that the hesitation was rejection, and Eiravelle could see the pain flickering across her features before she could hide it. Qazaethel began to pull back, her weight lifting from Eiravelle’s body, and the sudden loss of warmth made Eiravelle’s chest ache with a sharp, sudden grief.

But then, a few seconds that felt like an eternity later, Eiravelle finally looked at her and softened. The image of the Empress’s face floated in her mind, but it brought no jealousy, no resentment—only a strange, resigned acceptance. The Empress had known what she was getting when she married Qazaethel.

She had signed the contracts knowing that Eiravelle was part of the package, that the child in her womb was Qazaethel’s heir, that the Sovereign’s heart was already divided. Perhaps she was even relieved that Qazaethel was here rather than in the bridal suite, giving them both space to adjust to the strange geometry of their new arrangement.

”I...” Eiravelle’s voice was barely audible, a thread of sound that trembled in the air between them. She looked directly into Qazaethel’s eyes and let the truth show in her own. ”I want this... But... what about the Empress?”

The question hung there, heavy with all the complications of court life and political marriage. Eiravelle watched Qazaethel’s face carefully, searching for any sign of regret or hesitation, but found none. Instead, Qazaethel smiled, and it was the smile that had first made Eiravelle’s heart stutter all those months ago in the gardens, warm and genuine and devastatingly tender.

”I’ll deal with her in the morning,” Qazaethel said, and there was no dismissal in her tone, only practical acknowledgment of a situation they had all agreed to. ”But tonight it’s just me and you.”

She leaned down and pressed a kiss to Eiravelle’s forehead, the gesture was so sweet and reverent that Eiravelle felt her eyes sting with unexpected tears. It was acceptance. It was permission. It was Qazaethel choosing her, choosing them, even on the night when tradition and politics said she should be elsewhere.

Qazaethel shifted her weight, settling back over Eiravelle with a slow, deliberate movement that gave her every opportunity to change her mind. But Eiravelle did not want to change her mind. She lifted her free hand, the one Qazaethel had released, and threaded her fingers through the Sovereign’s dark hair, pulling her down into a kiss that was answer enough.

Qazaethel leaned down and captured Eiravelle’s lips in a kiss again. But this time, the kiss was consuming, hot, and deep.
