Rejected by My Fiancé, I Accidentally Carried His Mother's Heir (GL)

Eiravelle gulped the lump in her throat as she saw Qazaethel. The world around her seemed to narrow, the edges of her vision blurring until all she could see was the alpha standing before her—the same alpha who had held her in the darkness, who had whispered words of comfort against her skin, and who had disappeared before the dawn could reveal the truth.

Her heart pounded so loudly in her chest that she could hear it in her ears, drowning out the distant screeches of the demon realm and the soft rustle of Xelvyn’s monsters shifting behind them.

The golden thread shimmered between them, a boundary that had never felt more insurmountable, and yet Qazaethel stood on the other side, close enough to touch but still impossibly far.

”How come... You’re... Here?” She asked, her words are faltering, breaking apart like fragile things caught in a storm.

Qazaethel took a step forward, her hand are reaching out as if to touch Eiravelle, to reassure her that this was real, that she was truly here. But she stopped herself, letting her hand fall back to her side.

The gesture was small, almost imperceptible, but Eiravelle saw it—saw the way Qazaethel’s fingers curled into a fist, saw the tension in her shoulders, saw the way her jaw tightened with the effort of holding herself back.

”Eiravelle, let me explain,” Qazaethel said, her voice was sounding almost like a plea. It was raw and desperate in a way that Eiravelle had never heard before. This was not the voice of a sovereign, not the voice of someone who commanded armies and ruled realms.

This was the voice of someone who was afraid, someone who knew they had made terrible mistakes and didn’t know if they could ever be forgiven.

Xelvyn silently backed down with the monsters, taking a careful step backward to give them space to talk. The Demon Lordess understood that this moment was not hers to witness, that whatever was about to unfold between these two beings was something private and sacred.

She gestured to her monsters, and they retreated with her, their movements were quiet and obedient, until they were little more than shadows in the distance. But even as she withdrew, Xelvyn’s eyes remained watchful, her posture was tense with the readiness to intervene if necessary.

”What are you?” Eiravelle asked, and her voice cracked on the words. She was trying so hard to hold back her tears, to remain composed, to not fall apart in front of this alpha who had already seen her at her most vulnerable. ”Why are... Why are you dressed like that?”

The question hung in the air between them, heavy with meaning. Eiravelle had seen the golden scales, had watched the massive dragon descend from the sky. She had seen the transformation, the way Qazaethel had shifted from a creature of legend into the woman standing before her.

And she had seen the way Xelvyn had reacted—with recognition, with familiarity, with a respect that was reserved for equals. The pieces were there, scattered before her, but she couldn’t bring herself to put them together. She didn’t want to see the picture they would form.

”I...” Qazaethel faltered, her words are catching in her throat. She had rehearsed this moment so many times, had imagined what she would say when she finally found Eiravelle. But now that the moment was here, all her careful preparations seemed meaningless. ”I was dressed like this... Uhm...”

Xelvyn noticed her hesitation, and something flickered in the Demon Lordess’s eyes—impatience, perhaps, or frustration at Qazaethel’s inability to speak the truth. But she remained silent, true to her word, giving them the space they needed even as her presence lingered at the edge of their awareness.

”Are you the one sent by the sovereign?” Eiravelle asked, and her voice was quieter now, more controlled, though the tears still threatened to spill over. She was hoping—praying—that the alpha standing in front of her was not what she thought she was. ”All this time, you knew who I was?”

She didn’t yell. She couldn’t bring herself to raise her voice, couldn’t find the anger that she knew she should feel. All she felt was a profound, bone-deep weariness, and a pain that had been festering inside her for so long that she had almost forgotten what it felt like to be without it.

”Please answer me,” Eiravelle pleaded, and the tears finally broke free, streaming down her cheeks in hot, relentless lines. She had been strong for so long, had held herself together through everything—the shame, the isolation, the fear. But this, this was too much. This was the one wound she had never learned to protect.

Qazaethel opened her mouth to speak, to explain, to beg for forgiveness. But the words wouldn’t come. A lump had formed in her throat, hard and painful, and every time she tried to speak, it felt like she was choking. She had faced enemies on the battlefield, had stared down death without flinching, but she couldn’t find the courage to tell Eiravelle the truth.

”She is the sovereign of Solkanaia.”

Xelvyn’s voice cut through the silence like a blade, sharp and unyielding. The Demon Lordess had turned back to face them, her arms crossed against her chest, and her expression was cold and unreadable.

She had warned them that she wouldn’t meddle, but it seemed that she had changed her mind—or perhaps she had simply grown tired of watching Qazaethel stumble over her own words.

Eiravelle froze. Her eyes turn wide, her mouth fell slightly open, and for a moment, she looked like a statue carved from ice—frozen in place, unable to move, unable to breathe, unable to process what she had just heard. The words echoed in her mind, repeating over and over, each repetition was driving the truth deeper into her heart like a blade.

The sovereign of Solkanaia. Qazaethel was the sovereign of Solkanaia. The alpha who had held her in the darkness, who had given her a child, who had abandoned her to face the world alone—that alpha was the ruler of the entire divine realm.

Qazaethel’s fierce eyes snapped to Xelvyn, burning with a fury that would have made lesser beings cower. But the Demon Lordess simply shrugged her shoulders, her expression was cold and unapologetic. ”What?” She asked, her voice was flat. ”You seemed hesitant, so I did the part for you. Stop with all this drama, it’s not good for Eiravelle.”

The words were callous, but there was something beneath them—a genuine concern for the omega who had shown kindness to her monsters, a desire to end the suffering that was so clearly written on Eiravelle’s face. Xelvyn was not a gentle creature, had never pretended to be, but even she could see that this moment needed to end.

Qazaethel heaved a heavy sigh, the sound was filled with frustration and resignation. She wanted to lash out at Xelvyn, to tell her to mind her own business, but she knew the Demon Lordess was right. She had been hesitating, had been letting her fear control her, and in doing so, she had only prolonged Eiravelle’s pain.

”Just please shut up,” Qazaethel said, her voice was tight with the effort of keeping her composure.

Xelvyn raised her hands in the air, a gesture of surrender, and turned her back to them once more. She had said her piece, had done what she thought was necessary. The rest was up to them.

Qazaethel returned her gaze to Eiravelle, and her eyes softened immediately. The anger and frustration melted away, replaced by something far more vulnerable—guilt, longing, and a desperate hope that she hadn’t yet destroyed everything. ”Eiravelle, please forgive me.”

”You lied to me,” Eiravelle muttered, and her voice was barely audible, little more than a whisper carried on the wind. She slowly raised her gaze, and when her eyes met Qazaethel’s, they were filled with a pain so raw that it made Qazaethel’s heart clench in her chest. ”Why did you do that? How... H-How... How could you?”

She couldn’t even finish her sentence, her voice was breaking apart before she could form the words. The betrayal was too complete, the wound was too deep. She had trusted Qazaethel, had given her something she had never given anyone else—her body, her vulnerability, the most intimate parts of herself. And all along, the alpha had been hiding who she truly was.

”I didn’t deceive you,” Qazaethel said, and the words tumbled out of her in a rush, desperate to explain, desperate to make Eiravelle understand. ”I was there that night to find someone. It was unexpected to meet you there—”

”That’s not what I meant.” Eiravelle cut her off, and there was something new in her voice now—anger, perhaps, or at least the beginning of it. ”What I mean is, why didn’t you protect me when I needed you? Why... W-Why...”

Her tears continued to stream down her face, and she looked away, unable to meet Qazaethel’s eyes any longer. The pain was too much, the memories were too vivid. She thought of all the nights she had cried herself to sleep, all the days she had walked through the world with her head bowed in shame.

She thought of the whispers that followed her everywhere, the judgment in people’s eyes, the way they had looked at her as if she were something dirty, something to be discarded.

”Why did you leave me alone?” She asked, and her voice was so quiet, so broken, that it was almost lost to the wind. ”Why didn’t you protect me? Why... Why did you let everyone curse me for being a disgrace?”

The questions fell from her lips like stones, each one was heavier than the last. She had carried these questions with her for so long, had held them close to her heart like a wound that would never heal. And now, finally, she was giving voice to them, was demanding answers from the one person who owed them to her.

Qazaethel understood. She understood that she had neglected Eiravelle, had let her carry the weight of everything alone. She had been so focused on her duties, so consumed by her responsibilities, that she had forgotten the most important thing—the omega she had left behind, the child growing inside her, and the bond that she had created and then abandoned.

”Please, Eiravelle,” she pleaded, and her voice cracked with emotion. ”Let me make it up to you. Give me a second chance.”

Eiravelle shook her head, and the movement was slow, deliberate, filled with a sadness that seemed to reach into the very core of her being. ”I don’t know if I can. I’m scared you’ll abandon me again.”

The words hit Qazaethel like a physical blow, and she felt her heart shatter into a thousand pieces. She had done this. She had created this fear, this uncertainty, this wound that might never fully heal. And now she had to live with the consequences of her actions.

”No. Never again.” The words came out fierce, determined, filled with a conviction that burned like fire. ”I swear with everything I have. Just please... Just please come back.”

Eiravelle didn’t know what to say. She didn’t know if she could trust Qazaethel’s words, didn’t know if she could ever feel safe again after everything that had happened.

The pain was still too fresh, the betrayal was deep. But there was something in Qazaethel’s voice, something in the way she looked at Eiravelle, that made her want to believe.

”I have nowhere else to go, Your Majesty,” Eiravelle said, and her voice had suddenly gone formal, distant, as if she was speaking to a stranger rather than the alpha who had held her in the darkness.

Qazaethel noticed the change immediately, and it hurt more than any physical wound ever could. But she didn’t push further, didn’t try to force Eiravelle to drop the formality. Instead, she simply met her where she was, accepting whatever Eiravelle was willing to give.

”The palace is open for you, Eiravelle,” Qazaethel said, and her voice was careful, measured, as if she was afraid of saying the wrong thing. ”I am willing to take you as one of my concubines and take responsibility for the child you’re carrying.”

The words hung in the air between them, heavy with implication. And then, from somewhere behind them, came a scoff.

”How cliché, Qazaethel.”

Xelvyn’s voice was filled with derision, and Qazaethel could hear the barely suppressed laughter beneath it. The Demon Lordess had turned back to face them, clearly unable to resist commenting on the absurdity of the situation.

”Shut up!” Qazaethel shot back, her voice was sharp with irritation.

Xelvyn remained in her position, didn’t turn around to show how she was trying to hide her laughter. But Qazaethel could see the way her shoulders shook slightly, could hear the soft sound of amusement that escaped her lips.

”Concubine?” Eiravelle muttered, and her brow furrowed in displeasure. ”Just one of your concubines?”

Qazaethel frowned as she realized that Eiravelle was not exactly happy with that setup. The omega’s expression had shifted, had become something harder, something that held a hint of offense. And Qazaethel realized, with a sinking feeling in her chest, that she had made another mistake.

”Eiravelle, I’m sorry to add this too,” Qazaethel said, and her voice was heavy with reluctance. She didn’t want to burden Eiravelle with more bad news, didn’t want to add to the weight that was already pressing down on her. But she had no choice. ”But Arielle... She’s still unconscious. I know saying this—”

”What happened?!” Eiravelle’s voice changed immediately, the formality and distance vanishing in an instant. ”What happened to Sister Arielle?!”

The transformation was startling. One moment, Eiravelle had been distant, guarded, protecting herself from further pain. The next, she was filled with a desperate urgency, her eyes were wide with fear, her body was tense with the need to act. Arielle—her sister, her protector, the one person who had never abandoned her—was hurt, and nothing else mattered.

”Do you remember how your father threw her?” Qazaethel asked, and her voice was gentle, careful. ”She was badly injured. She needed you to go to Master Ragnar to fetch the magical peach for her recovery.”

Eiravelle nodded immediately, her mind was already racing ahead, already planning what she needed to do. ”Of course. Take me there now, please!”

She was about to step across the golden thread, was about to leave the demon realm behind without a second thought, when a voice stopped her.

”Dawn has arrived.”

Xelvyn had turned around to face them, and her expression was serious now, the amusement of the moments were replaced by something more solemn. ”You must ensure she rests first, Qazaethel. The time in the demon realm and the divine realm is different. It can be overwhelming for beings without stronger mana or powers. She is pregnant. It will be bad for her.”

The warning was clear, and Qazaethel felt a chill run down her spine. She had been so focused on getting Eiravelle back, so consumed by her own guilt and desperation, that she had forgotten about the practical concerns.

The demon realm was not like the divine realm—the very fabric of reality was different here, the rules that governed time and space altered in ways that could be dangerous for those who weren’t prepared.

The time between the demon realm and Solkanaia could be different despite sharing the same sun and moon between the golden thread. The divine realm only had one moon and one sun. While the demon realm had two moons—blood and pure—and no sun at all.

It was a fundamental difference, one that could have serious consequences for someone who wasn’t strong enough to withstand it.

”Hold on to me, then,” Qazaethel said, and she offered her hand to Eiravelle. ”Do you trust me?”

The question was simple, but the weight behind it was immense. Qazaethel was asking for more than just Eiravelle’s hand—she was asking for Eiravelle’s faith, her belief that Qazaethel would keep her safe, that she would never let her fall or be abandon again.

Eiravelle looked at the offered hand, at the alpha who had caused her so much pain and yet who was now offering her safety.

She didn’t know if she could trust Qazaethel, didn’t know if she could ever fully believe in her again. But she also knew that she had no other choice—Arielle was hurt, was waiting for her, and Eiravelle would do whatever it took to save her sister.

”You look like an idiot, Qazaethel.”

Xelvyn’s voice was flat, utterly unimpressed with the display of heroism. The Demon Lordess had crossed her arms again, and her expression was one of profound skepticism.

Qazaethel once again shot her a glare, her patience wearing thin. ”I said shut up!”

She was trying her best to keep her composure intact, to not let Xelvyn’s comments get under her skin. But it was difficult—the Demon Lordess had a way of cutting through pretense and exposing the absurdity of any situation, and Qazaethel was already feeling raw and exposed.

Eiravelle looked between them, at the bickering ruler and the smug demon lordess, and for a moment, she felt something strange—something that might have been amusement, or perhaps just the faintest hint of hope.

These two powerful beings, who commanded armies and ruled realms, were arguing like children. And in the midst of all the pain and betrayal and fear, there was something oddly comforting about that.

She reached out and placed her hand in Qazaethel’s.

The touch was electric, sending a jolt through both of them that was impossible to ignore. It had been so long since they had touched, so long since they had been this close.

And despite everything that had happened, despite all the pain and the lies and the abandonment, there was still something between them—something that neither of them could deny.

”Let’s go,” Eiravelle said, and her voice was steady now, determined. ”Arielle is waiting.”

Qazaethel nodded, her fingers are closing around Eiravelle’s hand with a gentleness that belied her strength. She would not let go. She would never let go again.

And as they stepped across the golden thread together, leaving the demon realm behind and returning to the divine, Qazaethel made a silent vow. She would earn Eiravelle’s trust back, no matter how long it took.

She would prove that she was worthy of the omega’s love, would spend the rest of her existence making up for the pain she had caused.

Because Eiravelle was worth it. Eiravelle was worth everything.

And Qazaethel would spend the rest of her life proving that Eiravelle knew it.
