Chapter 3085: Battle Against The Drowned Crescent Cult

Meanwhile, Cattaleya was a storm unto herself. She put aside her Greatsword changing it for a new set of weapons. As strong as the raw power of the Greatsword was, she was also slower with it.

In a fight like this, she needed speed more than just strength.

”This is more suited to bigger numbers.” She smirked.

Twin glaives spun in her hands as her aura blazed like molten gold. The Sixth and Seventh Tribulation Stage cultists came at her together, blades and spells intertwining to tear her apart. But Cattaleya did not falter. She met them head-on, her glaives moving in arcs that left burning trails.

”Come then!” she roared, her voice a whip that cut through the chaos. ”Duskthorn Style: Dance of the Twin Glaives!”

One glaive met a hammer, shattering it into fragments, while the other swung low, cleaving through a shield and the arm behind it. Her attacks weren’t just brute force — every movement was imbued with rhythm and precision, a dance honed through years of battles and wars.

The Seventh Stage elder roared and sent a tidal wave of water crashing toward her, but she spun her glaives, creating a vortex that sliced the torrent apart before lunging in and driving her weapon into his chest.

Blood sprayed like mist, and Cattaleya stood tall in the crimson rain, her braids whipping around her face as her golden eyes blazed.

Her might as a Peak Immortal Body Tempering Cultivator was on full display.

On the outskirts, Meng Bai fought alongside Lin Mu’s beasts. His spearmanship was swift and clean, his strikes meant to disable and kill in fluid succession. He wasn’t as overwhelming as the others, but with the support of Little Shrubby, Xiao Yin, and Xiao Yang, he carved a path through dozens of lower-stage cultists.

Little Shrubby burned like a comet, his crimson fur wreathed in flames as he pounced from one target to the next, his claws cutting through armor and flesh with terrifying ease. Every swipe left trails of fire that lit the battlefield in an infernal glow.

Xiao Yin and Xiao Yang were even more insidious. The twin snakes slithered through the shadows, sometimes merging with them entirely, before striking out with lightning speed.

Their fangs sank into necks, and their pure Yin and Yang Qi was like a venom hissing through veins, turning screams into gurgles. Together, they weaved around Meng Bai like protectors, striking whenever a cultist tried to flank him.

But at the heart of the chaos, Lin Mu faced the scarred cult leader himself.

The man’s presence was a wound in the world — scarred not just in body, but in soul. His aura twisted and screamed, an unstable mess of water and fire qi that lashed at the air like twin serpents. He met Lin Mu’s gaze and snarled, ”You will not take this city. You will not take our faith.”

Lin Mu drew his swords, the Sword Intent radiating from him in waves that pressed down on every soul present.

His sheath hummed with restrained fury, and when he unsheathed the first blade: Afternoon Pine, the sound was like the sky splitting open. But when he unsheathed the second blade: Ocean Raker, it was like the very oceans of the world were roaring!

They clashed in a blur.

The leader’s crescent blade screamed with water and fire qi, while Lin Mu’s two swords met it with terrifying precision.

’Dual Elemental Techniques... that too of opposing elements of Water and Fire.’ Lin Mu observed. ’He’s honed them to a very high level.’ Still, he was not one to back down from something like this.

Every strike was a tidal wave colliding with a mountain. Sparks and flames scattered with each clash, the ground splitting under the force. Afternoon Pine, unleashed golden yellow slashes that suppressed the water element of the leader, while the ocean blue arcs of energy of Ocean Raker suppressed the fire element.

”Peak of the Seventh Tribulation Stage of the Immortal... And one that has been there for a long time.” Lin Mu judged the old man’s strength.

He was not like the other cultists who had been boosted to the seventh stage artificially. They might have the raw power, but this man had the skill and experience needed to use it to the full potential.

For a moment, Lin Mu felt he might simply cut the man down in a few more exchanges — until the leader roared and hurled a black formation disc onto the ground.

”Let them drown in the flames of the earth!” he bellowed.

The disc lit up instantly, the ground rumbling as though the world itself was being torn open. Cracks spread across the underground city, glowing orange before molten lava burst forth like rivers of blood from the earth’s veins. The underground chamber trembled violently, the temple quaking as heat engulfed everything.

Columns of fire roared upward, swallowing cultists and allies alike. Those with weaker bodies were incinerated instantly, their screams cut short as their forms turned to ash. The cultists did not run. Instead, their maddened eyes burned brighter as they threw themselves at the intruders, empowered by the scorching air.

Daoist Chu cursed under his breath, weaving talismans as fast as he could to hold back the lava from swallowing them whole. Elyon howled, his shadows struggling to withstand the blinding brilliance of the flames.

Cattaleya grit her teeth, her skin glowing as she used her vitality to shield herself from the overwhelming heat.

”Tch... If not for the restriction...” She frowned.

And Lin Mu... Lin Mu narrowed his eyes.

The cult leader laughed, his scarred face twitching in a manic grin. ”Burn with us, intruder! Burn with the world beneath our feet!”

But Lin Mu only tightened his grip on his swords, his Sword intent sharp enough to cut even through the molten air.

”This city will not be your pyre,” he said coldly.

And then he moved, his swords blazing with intent as the flames of the earth rose higher, the battle transforming into a hellish storm of steel, fire, and death.
