Walker Of The Worlds

Chapter 2588  Lost History And Links Between Powers

”Ah, so you were the elder at the Desolate Blood Battlefield. It seems like we missed each other by a hairʼs breadth,” Lin Mu said, unconcerned about the past.

With his newly established identity, there was no way anyone would associate him with the ”Demon” from back then. Even his companions, who knew more about him, saw him wield the power of the Devil Path—far more fearsome than any mere demon.

As such, they thought little of it. Even if they did suspect the truth, their bond with Lin Mu, forged through countless life-and-death experiences, would overshadow any doubts.

”Oh, you were there?” Grandmaster Lao asked in surprise.

”Indeed. Brother Lin Mu was there to harvest some materials,” Crown Prince Feng Shun confirmed, recalling the details Lin Mu had shared with him personally.

”I still remember guiding Daoist Lin Mu back then,” Shu Shaoxing added with a nod.

With multiple testimonies affirming Lin Muʼs past presence, Grandmaster Lao quickly became convinced.

”Looks like fate has brought us together. Hahaha!” The Grandmaster laughed heartily.

The coincidence delighted him. He felt even more assured about having chosen Shu Shaoxing as his disciple. Internally, the Grandmaster resolved to increase the resources allocated to Shu Shaoxing for future growth.

Feeling content, the old man grew chatty and discussed the events that had transpired after Lin Muʼs departure from the battlefield. Lin Mu learned that the investigation into the ”Demonʼs” disappearance had ultimately reached a dead end.

The spatial traces left behind were too faint to determine where the entity had escaped. Investigators speculated that the demon had used the Violet Mystic Life Tree to ascend, leaving the Immortal Realm entirely.

This revelation reassured Lin Mu that his plan back then had succeeded even better than he had anticipated.

Further, he learned that, due to his recent actions, new information about the Demon Tribes had surfaced. It was now known that they had suffered oppression in the past and had been falsely accused of heinous crimes. Only a select few Demon Tribes, under the influence of the Withered Spirit Daoist, had committed atrocities.

With this knowledge, the investigation into the escaped demon was quietly shelved.

Moreover, the damage caused during that incident had been relatively minimal. Most casualties were a result of collateral damage or battlefield hazards—a grim but accepted reality in the Desolate Blood Battlefield.

”Looks like Iʼve managed to erase any lingering suspicions about me,” Lin Mu thought, relieved at the unexpected benefits of his actions.

Another crucial player in this unfolding narrative was the Half-Elf scholar, Ziran. Ziran, known for his affinity with the Demon Tribes, had worked closely with the empires to translate ancient documents and artifacts once sealed away by human powers.

These records, hidden for hundreds of thousands of years, contained invaluable insights into the Demon Tribesʼ history. Contrary to initial fears, they did not include forbidden knowledge but rather shed light on the injustices inflicted upon the demons.

Ziranʼs efforts had also taken him to the Huiqing Empire, which possessed an extensive collection of artifacts and documents. His scholarly curiosity and passion for uncovering mysteries made him a natural fit for the task.

This revelation sparked discussions among the Rust Sky Worldʼs ruling empires about whether to publicly share the demonsʼ history. Many feared that withholding this information would lead to public outrage if discovered later.

Moreover, the rulers wished to prevent the emergence of another rogue figure like Yao Changying, whose tragic path had stemmed from hidden truths. Scholars argued that if these records had been accessible earlier, they might have warned the current generation about looming dangers.

Lin Mu and his companions had endured great difficulty to uncover hidden documents, often searching perilous, forgotten regions. Many of these records would have been common knowledge if not for the deliberate erasure of history by past powers.

Ironically, the actions of their predecessors had inadvertently helped the enemy remain concealed for longer.

While reflecting on this, Lin Mu uncovered another intriguing detail.

Grandmaster Lao, it turned out, was the Uncle Master of both Emperor Feng and the Huiqing Emperor!

”To think that the emperors of two rival empires once served under the same master in the Immortal Court…” Lin Mu mused.

The revelation, while surprising, was logical. Both emperors had been top-tier prodigies in their youth, much like Crown Prince Feng Shun. As such, they had trained in the Immortal Court under the guidance of the same master.

This master, an esteemed elder of the Immortal Court, happened to be the sworn brother of Grandmaster Lao. The elder owed his life to Grandmaster Laoʼs exceptional alchemical skills, a debt that forged a deep bond between them.

Given Grandmaster Laoʼs origin in the Rust Sky World, his connection to the two emperors was even more profound.

Curious, Lin Mu inquired about the Holy Topaz Emperor, wondering if he shared a similar background. To his surprise, he learned that the Holy Topaz Emperor was an exception.

Unlike his counterparts, the Holy Topaz Emperor had never left his clan to train externally. The unique Huangyu clan bloodline restricted his learning to the clanʼs exclusive techniques, making outside tutelage unnecessary.

It turned out that the Holy Topaz Emperorʼs cultivation technique was quite strange and could actually turn people into gemstones when used. It was rather terrifying but the more Lin Mu thought about it, the more he realized that it was actually similar to a petrifaction technique. It was something a lot of Earth Attribute skills could do and several beasts also specialized in it.

But the technique had been modified to turn them into gemstone, particularly a topaz.

It was also where the name of the empire had come from.

The legend was that the founder of the Holy Topaz Dynastyʼs Imperial Family had stimulated the unique power of his bloodline and turned ordinary stone into topaz.

He then sold this to gain his wealth before growing stronger and establishing his clan. Over tens of thousands of years, it had finally become the Dynasty that they knew.
