Immortality Begins With Internal Breathing

Time passed slowly.

There were quite a few small activities at the banquet, since everyone present was a martial artist, and there were exchanges and sparring among them. This kind of banquet served as a venue for different circles to introduce themselves and get acquainted. Following Li Mengqi and Li Mengxi, Lin Zheyu met quite a few young masters of Wuling City and some talented disciples from various sects. However, it was nothing more than becoming familiar faces. As a newcomer, once people recognized you and you displayed your latent potential, others would naturally be willing to befriend you.

The next morning. After a night of rest, Lin Zheyu felt refreshed and clear-headed.

”Young Master Zhao, are you going to participate in the arena challenge this morning?”

Seeing Lin Zheyu walk out of the courtyard, Li Wensi greeted him with a smile. She had risen early and was practicing martial arts in the courtyard together with Li Mengqi.

”Maybe in the afternoon. Do you have other activities today?” Lin Zheyu asked with a smile.

”Yes, we will be going to meet some elders later. Young Master Zhao, do your best. I believe you can definitely win a hundred matches,” Li Wensi said with a bright smile.

”I will take your kind words to heart,” Lin Zheyu said with a smile.

He watched Li Mengqi practice martial arts for a while and found it pleasing to the eye. Although her temperament was somewhat cold, her looks and figure were beyond reproach. Of course, this was natural. She would not have been ranked sixth among the beauties of Wuling City if she didn’t fit this standard.

The Li Family genes are truly excellent. All the women are very beautiful.

Li Lingyun, whom he had encountered at the auction, was also very beautiful. Although Li Shuqin and Li Wensi were somewhat inferior to Li Lingyun and Li Mengqi, each had her own distinct charm.

After more than an hour, Li Mengqi and the others left. The martial cultivation exchange conference was mainly an exchange among descendants of esteemed families and sect disciples, and it had little to do with Lin Zheyu and some others. Or rather, it did have some relevance. Ordinary martial artists also had their own social circles; it was just that Lin Zheyu did not have one yet.

”Brother Zhao, are you not heading out? There is a performance at Water Moon Ward. Do you want to go?” Li Yanming asked with a smile.

”No. I plan to conserve my energy and head to the combat arena this afternoon to take part in the challenge. Miss Mengqi is right. With my current mindset, even if I have condensed a true intent seed, it will still be difficult to cultivate Dominance true intent,” Lin Zheyu said.

”Then do your best, Brother Zhao. I will go over to watch in the afternoon,” Li Yanming said with a smile.

After everyone had left, Lin Zheyu carefully checked once more. After confirming that no one was nearby, he turned and entered the room. He took out a wooden basin, filled it with water, crushed the remaining four sets of Blazing Flame Blood-Burning Powder into powder, and sprinkled them into the basin.

The medicinal potency of these four sets was not enough to allow him to advance to the tenth transformation of blood qi. However, he was not planning to, either. Using too much Origin Force in a short period placed a tremendous strain on the mind, especially with a technique like the Violet Thunder Blood Condensing Technique, whose cultivation process involved intense pain.

”I will first bring the Ninefold Origin Lock Art up to the ninth turn stage,” Lin Zheyu said silently to himself.

With a thought, the aura around him rapidly diminished. Vast amounts of blood qi and life essence were extracted and severed, then sealed into the acupoints throughout his body. Beads of sweat the size of beans appeared on Lin Zheyu’s forehead, and his face turned somewhat pale.

Huff...

He let out a long breath and felt his body become extremely weak. After pushing the Ninefold Origin Lock Art to its limit and sealing his life essence and blood qi throughout his body, even if he cultivated again, he could only reach about one-third of his previous level. Causing one third of his blood qi to undergo a qualitative change was far easier than transforming all of it. Moreover, once released, it could also incidentally increase the total amount of blood qi he had. It was simply achieving multiple gains at once.

Use 6 units of Origin Force to cultivate the Violet Thunder Blood Condensing Technique.

As the thought was transmitted, Lin Zheyu instantly sank into the familiar consciousness space.

Vast amounts of mysterious energy surged out from the depths of his cells. His weakened body rapidly recovered and was swiftly refined under the effect of this mysterious energy. At the same time, the powerful blood qi that had undergone nine qualitative changes was nourishing his physique. The stronger the blood qi, the more terrifying its nourishing and strengthening effect on the body.

Back when he advanced to the sixth transformation of blood qi, Lin Zheyu’s physical strength had already improved tremendously. Now that he had advanced to the Dragon Transformation, under the nourishment of even more powerful blood qi, his physique was undergoing earth-shaking changes.

After several breaths, Lin Zheyu opened his eyes and let out a long breath, a faint trace of fatigue flashing through his gaze.

He looked at the data within his consciousness and saw that 32 units of Origin Force remained. Closing his eyes, he carefully sensed the state of his body.

After advancing to the Dragon Transformation and adding the 6 units of Origin Force used just now, Lin Zheyu had used a total of 7 units of Origin Force[2]. He felt that another qualitative change in his blood qi still seemed very far away.

There is still a long way to go before the next qualitative change. Can I directly divide the Violet Thunder Blood Condensing Technique into several stages, with each stage representing one qualitative change of blood qi? Lin Zheyu pondered silently.

Before advancing to the Dragon Transformation, relying on his powerful perception and control over his body, he could still vaguely sense when a qualitative breakthrough might occur. After advancing to the Dragon Transformation, he could no longer feel it at all and could only guess. This inability to accurately grasp his progress made him somewhat uncomfortable.

With a thought, Lin Zheyu transmitted his idea regarding the Violet Thunder Blood Condensing Technique. The first perfected stage would represent the tenth qualitative change of blood qi, the second perfected stage the eleventh qualitative change, and so on. In an instant, the data in his consciousness blurred briefly before quickly returning to clarity. Looking at the updated data, the corners of Lin Zheyu’s mouth lifted slightly; his mood was quite good. His idea was feasible.

[Skills: Ninefold Origin Lock Art (Perfection), Tortoise Breath True Technique (Sixth Stage: 0%), Golden Goose Technique (Tenth Stage: 100%), Violet Thunder Dominance Fist (Seventh Stage: 100%), Spirit-Wondrous Movement Technique (Fifth Stage: 100%), Violet Thunder Blood Condensing Technique (First Stage: 30%)]

Nearly one-third progress. This is much better than I imagined. It seems that breaking through to the tenth transformation of blood qi will require around 17 units of Origin Force.

17 units were far less than he had expected. From the eighth transformation of blood qi to the Dragon Transformation, he had used a full 15 units of Origin Force. He had thought that advancing to the tenth transformation of blood qi might require 19 or even 20 units. Yet now it seemed to need only around 17 units.

One had to know that these 17 units of Origin Force included the Origin Force he had regained after using the Ninefold Origin Lock Art to seal his life essence, origin qi, and blood qi and then cultivating again. The amount he truly needed was much less than 17. It might have been only 13 or 14 units.

It should be because, after using the Ninefold Origin Lock Art, the total amount of blood qi in my body decreased. I have already used nine turns just now. Without releasing it, can I use it once more? Lin Zheyu pondered silently.

In theory, his conjecture was highly feasible. Lin Zheyu closed his eyes and began to circulate the Ninefold Origin Lock Art, starting from the first rotation and once again severing and sealing the newly cultivated blood qi. His brows knit slightly as beads of sweat began to appear on his forehead. After using the Ninefold Origin Lock Art once, continuing to use it again was indeed possible, but the difficulty was extremely high. Even with his current level of bodily control, it was very taxing.

More than ten minutes later, Lin Zheyu was gasping heavily. His body could no longer remain standing, and he collapsed onto the bed. Using the Ninefold Origin Lock Art twice caused severe damage to his body, which trembled uncontrollably. He felt that his physical condition was even worse than when his blood qi had only undergone its first transformation.

Would cultivating and improving in this state be more efficient? Lin Zheyu wondered inwardly.

After resting for a while, he finally felt much better. He extended his hand into the water basin and transmitted a thought.

Use 2 units of Origin Force to cultivate the Violet Thunder Blood Condensing Technique.

A familiar sensation arrived. His weakened body was like parched land meeting rain, rapidly recovering and growing stronger under the effect of mysterious energy.

After several breaths, Lin Zheyu slowly opened his eyes, the fatigue in them even heavier. At present, when using Origin Force to improve, his short-term limit was around 7 units. Any more and he would likely overdraw his mental strength. He let out a long breath and immediately looked at the data in his consciousness, before a look of surprise appeared on his face.

It really worked!

1. The author wrote 34 units here, but it’s supposed to be 32, as he had 38 units left in Chapter 277, then he used 6 units in the above sentences. ☜

2. The author calculated wrongly here so I changed it to the correct calculation. I think the other extra 1 unit of Origin Force added to the total was referring to Chapter 277: ”Use 1 unit of Origin Force to improve the Violet Thunder Blood Condensing Technique.” ☜
