Immortality Begins With Internal Breathing

”Young Master, this is the Tortoise Breath True Technique. You can look through it first to see whether it suits you. If it does not, you can still change your mind.” Li Mengqi handed over the Tortoise Breath True Technique manual as she spoke.

”Alright, thank you.” Lin Zheyu accepted the manual and began flipping through it.

He had long since cultivated the Tortoise Breath Grand Method to Perfection and was very familiar with this technique. The complete Tortoise Breath True Technique was divided into eight stages, while the Tortoise Breath Grand Method was merely a truncated version of the first three stages of the Tortoise Breath True Technique.

Compared with the Tortoise Breath Grand Method, the full version of the first three stages of the Tortoise Breath True Technique contained much more material. As Lin Zheyu read through the complete contents of the Tortoise Breath True Technique, a look of admiration appeared on his face. So it could be done this way.

”Although the Tortoise Breath True Technique is very difficult to cultivate, it possesses many characteristics. If one can comprehend the Tortoise Breath true intent and cultivate the Tortoise Breath True Technique to Perfection, it can not only extend a martial artist’s lifespan but also enhance the martial artist’s recovery ability. At the same time, the Tortoise Breath True Technique also improves a martial artist’s control over true strength, blood qi, and the body.

”However, compared to the vitality and effort this technique consumes, these improvements seem somewhat underwhelming. Most martial artists only begin cultivating the Tortoise Breath True Technique after their strength can no longer advance, and their essence, qi, and spirit start to decline. It is not recommended to cultivate it now,” Li Mengqi said from the side.

It was precisely because the Tortoise Breath True Technique possessed such powerful effects that it could be passed down from ancient times to the present. At the beginning, it was merely a lifespan extending technique with decent effects. Only after being revised and refined by countless powerful figures did it become the Tortoise Breath True Technique of today. However, the difficulty of cultivating this technique was simply too great, requiring an enormous amount of time and vitality before success was even possible.

”Hm. It truly is a good technique,” said Lin Zheyu, nodding lightly and closing the manual.

He smiled and said, ”I will choose the Tortoise Breath True Technique. As for a saber true technique that contains the Wind true intent, it will not be too late to cultivate it when there is an opportunity in the future.”

Li Mengqi opened her mouth, but in the end did not try to persuade him. Everyone had their own choices. Young Master Zhao Hao had already condensed a seed of Dominance true intent at Heavenly Blade Peak. Even without other true techniques, by cultivating slowly, his natural talent and comprehension would allow him to develop Dominance true intent. With this true intent, advancing to the Force Transformation realm would be no problem at all. However, techniques that matched Dominance true intent were difficult to find.

”Since that is the case, I will not say much more. You’ve already condensed a seed of Dominance true intent, so in the future, you will surely take Dominance true intent as your main path. This is also the cultivation road that suits you the best. However, there are no true techniques for cultivating Dominance true intent in the Li Residence, so you’ll have to search for them yourself,” Li Mengqi said.

”Miss, you’ve already helped me more than enough. I will not trouble you with this matter,” Lin Zheyu said with a smile.

Even if he did save the other party’s life, the reward Li Mengqi gave was a little too generous.

”You are too polite, Young Master. You may also choose a true technique fragment that no longer has a true intent diagram. Do you have any preferences?” Li Mengqi asked.

Several true techniques containing Wind true intent had all been taken first by Li Shuqin, so the promised conditions could not be fulfilled, which made her feel very apologetic. Therefore, in addition to the Tortoise Breath True Technique, she agreed to let Lin Zheyu choose another true technique fragment.

Such true technique fragments differed enormously in value compared to complete true techniques. About 70% of a true technique’s value lay in its true intent diagram. A true intent diagram created by a Force Transformation realm expert and one created by a Grandmaster realm or a Martial Innate realm martial artist differed vastly in worth. Martial artists of different strength levels were limited by the depth of their own comprehension when creating true intent diagrams. The weaker the creator, the weaker the diagram and the weaker the true intent derived from it, requiring more personal effort to comprehend, refine, and improve.

”Are there fist techniques similar to Barbaric Ox Fist? They do not need to contain Dominance true intent. Any that follow a fierce and forceful path will do. Using Dominance true intent to drive such fist techniques should also yield decent results,” Lin Zheyu stated after pondering for a moment.

Compared to saber techniques, he preferred fighting with fist techniques. Saber techniques were far too expensive, and at his current level of strength, ordinary sabers simply could not withstand his power. Forging a saber suitable for him would cost an astonishing amount of money. Lin Zheyu already had to rack his brains to earn money to buy large quantities of medicinal herbs as energy when enhancing his Origin Force. He had no spare money to purchase weapons.

”Please wait a moment, Young Master. I will look for them,” Li Mengqi said, turning toward the shelves of fist techniques. After quite a while, she took out two manuals.

”These two will help you cultivate Fire true intent and Thunder true intent, respectively, but both lack the true intent diagram. Take a look and see which one you want to choose,” Li Mengqi said as she handed over the two manuals.

Lin Zheyu looked at the names of the manuals. One was the Blazing Flame Fire Fist, and the other was the Violet Thunder Dominance Fist. Just the name of the latter alone felt extremely imposing. He flipped through them briefly and was not particularly concerned with the technique content. Only when true intent was paired with a true technique could its power be fully unleashed. It was just like the Barbaric Ox Fist, where fist momentum combined with the fist technique could allow the third-rate Barbaric Ox Fist to erupt with several times its usual power.

With the true intent diagrams missing, these two techniques could only serve as references. Using other true intents to drive them would greatly reduce their effectiveness, and perhaps even make them inferior to ordinary complete true techniques. Therefore, Lin Zheyu did not care much about the technique content itself. He focused mainly on the parts that helped one condense blood qi.

It is similar to the Primordial Origin Technique, with both using acupoints to condense and refine blood qi. However, comparatively speaking, the methods in the Blazing Flame Fire Fist are more balanced and steady, while those in the Violet Thunder Dominance Fist are more violent, but their effects are also better.

After a brief comparison, Lin Zheyu made his decision.

Naturally, he chose the more effective Violet Thunder Dominance Fist. He had even dared to practice a crude and violent technique like the Primordial Origin Technique {Modified}, so he wouldn’t hesitate to practice a proper technique like the Violet Thunder Dominance Fist.

”The Violet Thunder true intent, cultivated from the Violet Thunder Dominance Fist, originated from the former Violet Thunder Sect. After the sect’s destruction, its successors vanished, so the Violet Thunder true intent diagram can no longer be found. Some have tried substituting it with other similar Thunder true intents, but the results are far inferior to the original Violet Thunder true intent of the technique. Although the Violet Thunder true intent diagram has been lost, the techniques of the stages before the Force Transformation realm still hold considerable reference value.

”The Violet Thunder breathing method within the Violet Thunder Dominance Fist is very special. When circulated, it is as if wind and thunder surge within the body, which has an extremely strong tempering effect on the five viscera. Even someone at the Marrow Refining realm, if they were to retrain the Organ Forging realm once more, would still gain a significant enhancement.” Seeing that Lin Zheyu seemed more interested in Violet Thunder Dominance Fist, Li Mengqi explained in detail.

Even for true intents of the same attribute, the true intents comprehended from different true intent diagrams could differ greatly. Take Dominance true intent as an example. Some followed the path of sovereign dominance, a route likely taken by many imperial rulers. Others followed a path of savage dominance, with countless variations.

Lin Zheyu’s Dominance true intent seed was derived from the Barbaric Ox Fist and was condensed under the shroud of saber intent at Heavenly Blade Peak. If he were to fully comprehend true intent, it would lean more toward the Heavenly Sage Sect’s technique lineage, following a path of dominance that shattered all techniques with sheer force. Therefore, true intent diagrams and true techniques corresponded one-to-one. Only matching true intent could unleash the greatest power of a true technique.

When Lin Zheyu chose true techniques in the future, the subsequent techniques of Barbaric Ox Fist would suit him best. However, having already comprehended Dominance true intent, learning other true techniques that would primarily help him cultivate Dominance true intent would be much easier. With a foundation in place and the addition of a true intent diagram, comprehension would be far faster.

The former sect that used the Violet Thunder Dominance Fist had already been exterminated, which meant that there were no experts above the Force Transformation realm who could create a true intent diagram. Even if one had comprehended Thunder true intent from other similar techniques, it was extremely difficult to derive Violet Thunder true intent from it. To practice this true technique, one could only follow the traditional path. That was to temper one’s martial cultivation conviction and advance step by step. This path was extremely difficult.

”I will choose the Violet Thunder Dominance Fist. Many thanks to you, Miss Mengqi. Without you, I would have had no way to obtain these two techniques,” Lin Zheyu said gratefully.

”You are too polite, Young Master,” Li Mengqi said with a smile.

After choosing the techniques, the two went to the registration counter inside the Library Pavilion to register them. The one in charge of registration was a handsome young man whose demeanor resembled the delicate young idols from the screens of Lin Zheyu’s previous life. His manner was soft and feminine and lacking some masculine vigor. In the Central Plains, where martial cultivation flourished, this was extremely rare and almost unseen outside of pleasure quarters.

”Sister Mengqi, the total required is one hundred and eighteen contribution points,” the young man said.

”Mhm, deduct it from me. If it is not enough, deduct the remaining portion from Mengxi,” Li Mengqi said as she took out two identity tokens and handed them over.

It was clear that she did not have many contribution points on her. In a great family like the Li Family, it was not easy to get by. Although great families were rich in resources, one still had to fight for them personally and exchange effort for resources. Otherwise, they could not produce strong individuals and would only raise a bunch of useless people. Even so, the disparity between individuals within an esteemed family was still enormous.

Li Mengqi redeemed two techniques, one of which was not even a true technique, yet her contribution points were insufficient, and she needed to add Li Mengxi’s. Meanwhile, Li Shuqin was able to redeem three true techniques outright just to spite Li Mengqi.

”Alright, Sister Mengqi,” the young man said as he began recording.

The recording was completed quickly, and the two left the Library Pavilion with the techniques. Outside the Library Pavilion, Elder Wang was still engrossed in reading. When he saw them come out, he raised his head and glanced at them.

”Out already, eh? Did you find a suitable true technique?” Elder Wang asked.

His strength was formidable, so Elder Wang had also heard the commotion inside earlier. He had heard before that Li Mengqi and Li Shuqin did not get along, and from what he overheard, he could guess what had happened inside.

”I exchanged my favor for the Tortoise Breath True Technique,” Lin Zheyu said.

He did not conceal it, nor was there any need to. With Elder Wang’s status, he could simply go inside and check the records if he wished to know.

”Oh? What an interesting little fellow. You actually chose the Tortoise Breath True Technique, huh?” Elder Wang revealed a look of surprise.

”I could not find a suitable true technique, so I had no choice but to settle for an auxiliary one.” Lin Zheyu explained.

”The Tortoise Breath True Technique is good. Kid, work hard and strive to condense the Tortoise Breath true intent before advancing to the Force Transformation realm. Being able to cultivate the Tortoise Breath Grand Method to Perfection shows that you have good talent in the Tortoise Breath True Technique. If you can comprehend the Tortoise Breath true intent, it will be of great help when you later advance to the Force Transformation realm and fuse multiple true intents,” Elder Wang said with a hearty laugh.

”The Tortoise Breath True Technique has such an effect as well?” Li Mengqi could not help but ask curiously.

Even she had not known that comprehending the Tortoise Breath true intent could help with fusing multiple true intents when advancing to the Force Transformation realm.
