Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

”Rose, don’t work yourself too hard. Warm Wind is about to be released. I’m sure this show will be a hit, and everything will get better.”

”Of course.” Rose Shaw nodded. ”Melody, thank you.”

”Thank me for what? Didn’t you say we’re in this together?”

Rose Shaw nodded emphatically.

The two exchanged a smile.

...

”President Fairchild, the historical drama Rose Shaw was working on has been put on hold.” Keith Coleman’s expression was troubled. He felt for Rose Shaw, thinking of all the hardships she’d recently endured.

”Keep pressuring Stellaris. Even if Christopher Sterling finds out, don’t let him raise the funds to restart this project.”

”I know. President Fairchild, Rose Shaw hasn’t given up. She’s been constantly trying to negotiate projects for your wife, and she even found a show we’re investing in for her to audition for a supporting role.”

Evan Fairchild’s brows furrowed.

He was worried about this matter, too.

Melody Monroe had been out a lot lately, auditioning everywhere!

’This woman... isn’t she supposed to be riding my coattails? It’s all talk and no action! Why hasn’t she made a move? To think she’d go and audition for a supporting role!’

”Keep a close watch. Don’t let Rose Shaw secure a single contract!”

”President Fairchild, isn’t that a bit too harsh? If your wife finds out you’re doing this behind her back, she’ll never let you hear the end of it!”

’Why am I doing this?’

’Isn’t it because she refuses to listen?’

’Once she signs with Starfall, she can have anything she wants!’

”President Fairchild, I’ll be going then.”

Melody Monroe and Rose Shaw walked out of the company, both letting out a sigh.

”Rose, I don’t think it’s going to happen!” Melody Monroe no longer held out any hope.

Everyone recognized her the moment she and Rose Shaw went in. She felt she’d performed quite well, but in the end, they all rejected her, saying she wasn’t a good fit for the role.

”Could it be Lana Sheffield’s doing?” Rose Shaw wondered aloud.

”The Sheffield Family isn’t in this industry, and Lana Sheffield only just married President Sterling, so she probably doesn’t have that much pull.” Melody Monroe voiced her thoughts.

Rose Shaw nodded in agreement. ”But I can’t shake the feeling that someone is targeting us.”

”No way, right? Maybe I’m just not cut out for minor supporting roles, so no one dares to hire me. In that case, I’ll just play female leads from now on!” Melody Monroe said with a laugh.

That made Rose Shaw laugh, too.

”Melody, Rose!”

Hearing the call, Melody Monroe and Rose Shaw looked up at the same time.

Keith Coleman walked over holding two cold drinks, handing one to Melody Monroe and the other to Rose Shaw.

”This has way too much sugar; you can’t drink it.” Rose Shaw immediately snatched it away. ”Keith Coleman, go buy Melody a bottle of mineral water instead.”

”On it! Rose.”

Hearing him call her that, the corner of Rose Shaw’s eye twitched.

Watching the two of them, Melody Monroe couldn’t help but smile.

”What are you smiling at? That Keith Coleman is just...” Rose Shaw shook her head, at a loss for words to describe how she felt.

Melody Monroe thought to herself, ’What would happen if Rose Shaw found out who Keith Coleman really was?’

’In the original novel, those two have scenes together later! Their paths do cross!’

’Rose Shaw is devoted to Stellaris, and Keith Coleman is from Starfall, so they naturally clashed. But the original author never wrote anything more about them.’

’Back when I was reading the book, I always thought that if the author had just shown Rose Shaw’s character a little more love and let something develop between her and Keith Coleman, she wouldn’t have met such a tragic end.’

Suddenly, a thought flashed through her mind.

”Melody, your water.” Keith Coleman said, walking over with the bottle.

Melody Monroe glanced at Keith Coleman and immediately dismissed the thought that had just flashed through her mind.
