Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

Today, she would show Rose Shaw just who was the wife of Stellaris’s president! She would show her who really called the shots at Stellaris!

’Following Melody Monroe leads to a bad end!’

After Lana Sheffield left, Rose Shaw stared at the documents piled on her desk. They were the culmination of a month of her painstaking work; everything was nearly ready.

And yet, at this critical moment, Lana Sheffield had to interfere!

’Lana Sheffield must have done this on purpose, dealing a fatal blow at just the right time.’

’If she wanted to pull the funding, she could have done it long ago. But no, she had to wait until I had nearly everything arranged!’

Rose Shaw had to admit it: Lana Sheffield’s move was truly vicious.

She stood rooted to the spot, her lips trembling with rage.

It was a long while before she composed herself.

She took out her phone, wanting to call Christopher Sterling. But at the last moment, she hesitated and didn’t make the call.

’I’ll have to find another way.’

...

Melody Monroe had been waiting for news from Rose Shaw. She had been idle for far too long, but she didn’t dare rush her. ’As a producer, Rose must be incredibly busy.’

’Once everything is ready, she’ll definitely be in touch.’

Evan Fairchild glanced up at Melody Monroe. She seemed a little anxious lately.

She was always checking her phone.

Lately, he usually just went to the office in the morning. After taking care of business, he would immediately rush back to be with her. When he was truly busy, he would just handle his work from home.

’She’s probably waiting for news about the new show Rose Shaw is producing.’

Tommy had already told him all about it.

’If this show can’t be filmed, then she’ll have no more reason to stay at Stellaris, will she?’

Evan Fairchild was also waiting. Although Rose Shaw had some connections, it was absolutely impossible for her to secure an eighty-million-dollar investment on her reputation alone.

The only people she could turn to were those who had worked with Stellaris before, but Lana Sheffield had already contacted them in her capacity as Mrs. Sterling.

Naturally, everyone would defer to Lana Sheffield. Rose Shaw was just a minor figure in comparison.

Evan Fairchild didn’t understand why Rose Shaw was being so stubborn.

’For Melody Monroe?’

’It couldn’t be all for Melody.’

He knew everything about the situation, yet he hadn’t told Melody Monroe a single word.

...

Melody Monroe picked up her phone and sent a message to Talia Mercer.

”Talia, have you heard from Rose lately?”

”Rose... She’s been very busy.”

Listening to Talia Mercer’s voice, Melody Monroe got the feeling that she was definitely hiding something from her.

”Did something happen? Tell me.”

”Melody, Rose told me not to tell you.”

”Spit it out. What exactly happened?”

Talia Mercer gave Melody Monroe a rough summary of the situation. Melody put down her phone, a wave of anger washing over her. ’Something this huge was happening, and not only did she not know, she was just sitting at home waiting every day!’

’Rose Shaw was shouldering this all by herself! And she didn’t even tell me!’

Melody Monroe went into the bedroom and changed her clothes.

The room that originally belonged to the housekeeper had been converted into a small study, and Evan Fairchild had already heard the commotion outside.

Footsteps stopped in front of his door.

Melody Monroe raised her hand to knock, but then she remembered Evan Fairchild was still working. Not wanting to disturb him, she hurried away.

Hearing the front door close, Evan Fairchild immediately came out of the room.

’She must have gone to find Rose Shaw!’

Melody Monroe waited downstairs for a bit. Soon, Winter Kane pulled up in his car with Talia Mercer.

”Melody, Rose is at the Serene Group headquarters right now.”

”We’re going there now,” Melody Monroe commanded in a low voice.

Rose Shaw had been sitting in the conference room for half an hour, but no one had come in. She began to think that President Lewis probably wasn’t going to see her at all.
