Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

”That’s more like it.” Zoe Quinn smiled, looping her arm through her husband’s.

After having fraternal twins, she never had any more children.

She felt almost motherly toward her third brother-in-law, who was so much younger than her.

’I wonder when he’ll finally bring a wife home,’ she thought. ’It’s a real worry.’

...

When Rose Shaw arrived at the president’s office, Wayne Payne was already seated inside.

The moment he saw Rose Shaw, he shot to his feet, his face wreathed in a smile. ”Rose, long time no see.”

Rose Shaw ignored him and sat down to the side.

”You’ve been taking it easy lately, Rose. I, on the other hand, have been swamped.” Wayne Payne remained enthusiastic regardless of Rose Shaw’s attitude. It wasn’t every day he got a chance to tease her like this, after all.

Rose Shaw knew the company’s situation.

Because of Starfall’s recent moves, Stellaris had suffered an unprecedented blow.

Investors they had frequently worked with were now flocking to Starfall.

President Sterling was a self-made man, after all. He had started with nothing, building his company to its current success over the years with no one to rely on.

Starfall was just one of Evan Fairchild’s minor subsidiaries, hardly worth mentioning. The two companies weren’t even in the same league.

The resources Wayne Payne had secured recently were all bankrolled by Lana Sheffield.

It was a massive investment of over a hundred million, intended to dominate this year’s New Year’s box office.

Rose Shaw had no intention of competing for it. Why bring humiliation upon herself?

What worried her was that if the company continued on this path, the new talent would leave and the veterans wouldn’t stay, creating a vicious cycle. At this rate, they might not last much longer.

Their rival, Starfall, was just too powerful.

They couldn’t attract outside investment, which meant they could only use their own money.

It would take several months at a minimum to recoup the funds. A small investment would have a negligible effect, but a large one was risky. Any unexpected incident during those months would be a fatal blow to Stellaris.

Christopher Sterling handed the file on his desk to Rose Shaw. ”You’ll follow up on this drama.”

Wayne Payne was stunned for a moment. ’The company’s own investment is going into Rose Shaw’s hands? In the end, isn’t it just going to go to Melody Monroe?’

”President Sterling, given the company’s current situation, we should be diversifying our resources. Only by promoting more artists can we get the fastest possible return on our investment. I have several new, very promising artists who are just waiting for an opportunity.”

”There will be more investments later. For now, just focus on what’s on your plate.”

Wayne Payne fell silent, not daring to argue further.

”I’ll get right on it. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going.” Rose Shaw stood up and headed for the door.

’Over the years, I’ve built up some connections in this industry, but my influence is limited,’ she thought. ’Even President Sterling will have a hard time solving this. What hope do I have? Only Lana Sheffield can really help President Sterling with his career.’

Back in her office, Rose Shaw opened the file. Inside was a synopsis for a historical drama. It was a ”strong female lead” story, combining political intrigue with palace scheming, and written by a famous screenwriter.

The female lead was domineering from the very beginning, with a commanding presence.

She was the princess of a fallen kingdom, displaced and wandering, who had to protect her younger brother and reclaim her throne.

The drama featured three major romantic arcs.

Her first romantic entanglement was with a general from an enemy nation, followed later by that nation’s monarch.

The enemy monarch grew to adore her, but she refused to become just another woman in his harem. She was driven to restore her kingdom, the pride of her royal blood flowing in her veins.

Eventually, she was rescued and escaped the enemy nation with her brother.

Then she encountered another monarch.

At first, the female lead only used this monarch for her own ends, but eventually, she gradually fell in love with him.

Overall, the romantic storyline was quite angsty.
