Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

”The nurses are here, so don’t worry about me. You haven’t eaten all this time, so go get something to eat first,” Melody typed another line.

”Okay, I’ll go grab a quick bite. I’ll be back soon.”

”Mm-hmm.” Melody nodded.

...

Evan Fairchild arrived outside the hospital room. He saw the figure lying on the bed through the glass window on the door, then gently pushed the door open and walked in.

”Yoo bak sho shoon?” Melody asked, hearing someone push the door open. She thought it was Talia.

Evan Fairchild fell silent.

Melody suddenly felt that something wasn’t right. She slowly turned her head.

”Ah!”

A shriek rang out in the hospital room, so piercing that its echo filled the entire floor!

Evan Fairchild’s brows furrowed slightly as he strode toward the bed.

”Don’t come any closer!” Melody hurriedly raised a hand to cover her face.

’She didn’t even know how ugly she looked right now, and Evan Fairchild had to see her like this! If a hole could open up in the ground, she would jump in without a second thought!’

Evan Fairchild sat on the edge of the bed and couldn’t help but chuckle.

Melody quickly turned away, her back facing him.

’What is Evan Fairchild doing here?!!!’

”Didn’t you say you’d come find me after seven days? I couldn’t wait, so I came to find you myself.” Evan Fairchild looked at the IV tube in front of him, picking it up to straighten it.

Her movements just now had been so abrupt that blood was backing up into the tube.

Melody was speechless.

Her face was frozen, incapable of any expression.

Evan Fairchild took her hand, intending to lower it.

The moment he touched her, Melody snatched her hand back as if she’d been electrocuted.

”Keep it lower,” Evan Fairchild reminded her.

’A storm raged in Melody’s heart. She had said something about seven days last time, but that’s not what she meant at all!’

’She was just... Ugh!’

’Why did she have to say that! Now she’d really gone and dug her own grave!’

’How could he have taken it seriously!’

’And to come find her at the hospital, of all places, at a time like this!’

’Looking like this, could he really still make a move on her?’

’Does his taste have to be this extreme?!’

A thought suddenly flashed through Melody’s mind.

She slowly turned back around, no longer bothering to hide her face, and met Evan Fairchild’s gaze.

’That’s right! She wanted Evan Fairchild to get a good, long look at her current state!’

’Let’s see if he still has *those* ideas then!’

Because of the allergic reaction, Melody’s eyes were red and swollen, her mouth had puffed up into sausage lips, and her neck was covered in patches of red rash. She looked scary enough to scare someone to death if they saw her in the middle of the night.

Evan Fairchild suddenly raised his hand, gripped her chin, and tilted her face up slightly.

’Holy crap! A thousand expletives galloped through Melody’s mind!’

’This guy is savage!’

The intensity of his gaze made Melody flustered and desperate to escape.

”Tommy,” Evan Fairchild called out.

The door was pushed open.

Melody immediately raised her hand to cover her face, instinctively trying to hide.

Evan Fairchild raised his hand, pressing her head to his chest as he pulled her into his arms.

Melody’s forehead rested against his solid chest, and her heart suddenly started to race! Every breath of air was filled with his unique scent!

’In that moment, she actually felt... cherished!’

Emotions that had been buried deep in her heart were pulled to the surface, filling her completely and making the tip of her nose sting.

When she was a child, a mischievous boy used to play tricks on her, once cutting off half her hair while she was napping. At that time, she really wanted a father.

A father she could rely on, who could cherish her and give her a sense of security.

How she longed to sit on her father’s shoulders and run across a grassy field.

How she longed to be like other kids, able to lean against her father’s shoulder and be doted on...
