Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 251: Chapter 130: The Only Choice

Professor Flitwick waved his magic wand, and a stack of white paper spread out, flying towards each student.

Vid reached out to catch the paper in front of him, seeing it listed with elective courses, class times and locations, along with a brief introduction.

At the bottom, there was a section listing the courses required for various careers.

A buzz of discussion filled the classroom.

”Don’t rush, children, don’t rush.”

Professor Flitwick waved his arm and said: ”Any hasty decisions are prone to errors, go back and think it through. And... happy holidays.”

...

”Hey, I definitely won’t be happy this holiday.” In the Umbrella House, Theo said gloomily, ”My family is all writing to me, giving opinions on my elective courses.”

”Me too.” Neville said nervously, ”They’re all saying different things, I don’t know who to listen to.”

”Why don’t we sort out your family’s opinions?” Vid suggested, ”Although others’ opinions may be good, we don’t need to accept them all. Just pick out the parts that are most beneficial to us.”

”Good idea!”

Neville eagerly gathered all his letters, looking at Vid with anticipation.

Honestly, in this regard, he trusted Vid more than his own family.

Grandma Longbottom had enormous expectations for Neville, putting him under great pressure. His uncle and other relatives pessimistically believed that if Neville could pass two or more exams and get his OWLs certificate, it would be a victory.

But Vid would consider his level, his actual needs.

Subsequently, Theo, Michael, Padma, and others also sorted out the opinions of their parents and elders.

Harry, after consulting everyone’s opinions, also pulled Ron over, worried he might make a wrong choice.

Ron awkwardly said in a somewhat deliberate tone, ”Honestly, I just want to give up Magic Potion Class.”

”Me too.” Harry agreed wholeheartedly.

”But we have to attend the original subjects. Otherwise... just learning a few light courses would be great.” Michael said with a sigh.

Vid pulled over a giant whiteboard and then listed a chart on it——

Ancient Magical Runes.

Divination.

Numerological Divination.

Magical Creatures Protection.

Muggle Studies.

Neville read through a letter briefly and said, ”My uncle says Numerological Divination is extremely difficult to learn, requires memorizing a large number of charts, and advised me not to waste time on it, saying I won’t be able to learn it.”

Vid wrote behind Numerological Divination: [High difficulty. Requires: strong memory, strong mathematical ability].

”He also said not to study Ancient Magical Runes—requires memorizing tons of words and pronunciations. If I take this course, I won’t even be able to write the number ’0’—is that true, Vid?” Neville asked.

Vid laughed and said, ”Not that exaggerated, but the way to write ’0’ is Demiguise, the same as Invisible Beast, and the pronunciation is...”

He made a rather awkward pronunciation that sounded quite different from English.

Then Vid added, ”Many characters in Ancient Magical Runes have more than two pronunciations, and you must choose based on practical application. Also, the direction of writing is different; sometimes you change direction while writing, which influences its meaning.”

Neville clicked his tongue, ”Sounds too complex.”

He decisively crossed Ancient Magical Runes and Numerological Divination off his pending list.

The other listeners also discreetly decided not to choose these two courses, except Hermione who seemed unaffected.

”I have a letter here.”

Theo also pulled out an envelope.

”Oh, it’s from my cousin—she says if you want to get a certificate easily, Divination is the best choice.”

Neville hesitated, ”My grandmother says it’s a hoax, tells me not to choose it.”

George read from the letter Ron received, ”For those truly talented, Divination is a magical and useful subject... wow, predicting the future.”

”That must be Percy! He’s at school but still wrote a letter!”

Fred tugged it over for a look, and it was true. He then hung onto George’s shoulder, laughing, ”He even said... I think you don’t have this talent... hahaha...”

Ron snatched the letter back with a flushed face, saying, ”Percy opted for all courses, he must know a lot! Asking him is more useful than asking you two!”

”Oh?” Fred raised an eyebrow, ”So did Percy give you any ’useful’ advice?”

Ron was tongue-tied, unable to speak.

Actually, after analyzing a bunch of courses, Percy finally picked out two that were easy to score and useful for the future.

Magical Creatures Protection and Muggle Studies.

[The course for Magical Creatures Protection is relatively fun, and the exams are easier to pass. As for Muggle Studies, influenced by father, it shouldn’t be difficult for you...]

Percy’s advice was quite reasonable, but after reading his letter, Ron quietly crossed out Muggle Studies in his heart and wanted to choose Divination Class instead.

Because Percy mentioned in the letter:

[This is a pointless course, as long as you’re willing to fabricate, Professor Trelawney gives high scores, not considering whether students truly predict anything... In fact, I doubt she has half the level she boasts about...]

[I chose this course just to make up the twelve OWLs certificates for honor, but for you, I think there’s no need...]

Ron focused on the evaluation ”gives high scores easily,” immediately putting it as his top choice.

But saying that felt like admitting he was dumb. He hesitated for a while, not expressing his idea, only describing Percy’s opinions on several courses objectively.

Vid integrated the letters from everyone, adding more details to the chart, and once the last letter was sorted, almost every confused student had a clear idea.

Vid put down the chalk and said, ”Although opinions differ, some parts are actually the same.”

”Numerological Divination and Ancient Magical Runes are both very difficult, requiring a lot of memorization and memory, while the other three courses are relatively easier.”

”Magical Creatures Protection focuses on practice, Muggle Studies also has a lot of content to memorize, Divination is easy to score but not highly regarded by the professor, nor can you learn much useful from it.”

”Have you decided what to choose?”

”Vid, what courses are you picking?” Michael asked.

Vid smiled and said, ”Of course... all of them.”

To him, it was the only choice.

The only... opportunity to get the Time Manager.
