4639 Duan Ling Tian’s Theories

In the beginning, after considering everything, Duan Ling Tian thought it was best not to personally enter the Heaven Traversing Pagoda to investigate. However, when he tried entering with his doppelganger, he found that his doppelganger could not enter. He thought about it again before he finally decided to go in and have a look at the realm that heaven had prepared for supreme powerhouses.

“Master, we became level-seven supreme powerhouse through our own efforts. Heaven created the Heaven Traversing Pagoda to help level-six supreme powerhouses, giving them a chance to break the shackles and become level-seven supreme powerhouses. Thanks to that, quite a few level-seven supreme powerhouses appeared,” Duan Ling Tian said through Voice Transmission, “Moreover, it hasn’t been that long since the pagoda appeared. In a few thousand or ten thousand years, the number of level-seven supreme powerhouses will surely increase.”

Duan Ling Tian paused for a moment before he continued to say, “Back then, we and others suspected that heaven was targeting us. However, with the new change, I’m no longer sure about that…”

According to the Void Elder’s memory, before the historical gap, there were challenges in independent realms that he suspected were from heaven. However, the Void Elder could not confirm this. He only came to that conclusion because he did not think humans were capable of coming up with those challenges. Even he, a level-nine supreme powerhouse, was not capable of coming up with those challenges.

The Void Elder believed that heaven chose to start the world anew because of level-nine supreme powerhouses like him. He speculated that heaven wanted to eradicate them, afraid that they would surpass heaven itself.

However, the more Duan Ling Tian thought about it, the more he found the theory to be filled with holes. If heaven truly wanted to kill the Void Elder, it could do so in many ways. With the heavenly text announcing rewards, heaven could easily instigate other supreme powerhouses to deal with the Void Elder.

‘There’s nothing about the heavenly text in the Void Elder’s memory…’

Duan Ling Tian was also confused about why there was no heavenly text before the gap in history when the Void Elder was alive. Even those challenges and realms that were suspected to be from heaven were discovered by humans; there was no announcement about them via the heavenly text.

‘There must be something we’re missing… Based on the Void Elder’s memory, there’s also nothing about the nine entrances to the mysterious place… Then, what are those powerful creatures comparable to level-eight supreme powerhouses? Did they only appear after the gap in history? However, the heavenly made it clear that level-seven supreme powerhouses only appeared recently after the gap in history… Also, where is that place that the nine creatures guarded? It’s clear that heaven is what prevented the creatures from entering the outside world…’

At this time, Feng Qing Yang already knew that Duan Ling Tian had inherited the Void Elder’s memory. As such, Duan Ling Tian did not hesitate to discuss this matter with Feng Qing Yang.

Duan Ling Tian also wondered if the new changes of the Heaven Traversing Pagoda had anything to do with that mysterious place since heaven was clearly trying to help everyone become stronger. However, why did heaven not do this in the past? In the past, instead of helping everyone to become stronger, heaven set up numerous stumbling blocks to prevent people from becoming level-seven supreme powerhouses.

Things only changed when Duan Ling Tian and Feng Qing Yang forcefully broke the shackles and became level-seven supreme powerhouses.

Duan Ling Tian felt like heaven was as fickle as the sea and the weather. It suddenly stopped suppressing supreme powerhouses and began to help them instead, giving them a chance to become level-seven supreme powerhouses. It was even encouraging advanced Supreme Gods to enter the realm of supreme powerhouses as soon as possible.

“Why is heaven doing this?” Feng Qing Yang was perplexed as well.

Duan Ling Tian speculated, “Master, do you think it’s possible that when we became level-seven supreme powerhouses, we somehow affected the world? Perhaps, because of our breakthrough, the World energy that heaven used to restrain whatever sinister beings in that mysterious place is weakening. Could it be that this was the reason why heaven made it difficult for level-six supreme powerhouses to break through to the next level? Perhaps heaven knew this would weaken the barrier so it suppressed our cultivation… However, since we had broken through, it now has no choice but to help everyone get stronger so we can deal with whatever is in that place…”

Based on his knowledge, Duan Ling Tian came to this conclusion.

The Lords of the Myriad Worlds could control World energy, but it was only to the extent where they could use it to stabilize the Worlds, absorbing another World’s energy to do so. They could not use it in combat.

Feng Qing Yang’s eyes widened slightly when he heard Duan Ling Tian’s theories. He felt that Duan Ling Tian might be right.

“I think you might be right,” Feng Qing Yang said through Voice Transmission. A hint of shock and fear could be heard in his voice as he continued to say, “If you’re right, then everyone’s in great danger. Put everything else aside, just those creatures guarding the nine entrances are enough to destroy both the Myriad Worlds and the Outer Boundary… If they could leave, the world as we know it would end…”

Just those creatures guarding the entrances were at least as strong as level-eight supreme powerhouses. Feng Qing Yang did not doubt that whatever was in the mysterious place was even more powerful.

Seeing the grim expression on Feng Qing Yang’s face, Duan Ling Tian quickly said, “Master, I’m merely speculating. I might be wrong.”
