Apocalyptic Disaster: I Hoard Billions in Supplies and Kill the Saint

130: Chapter 130 Human Nature is Inherently GreedyYe Nanxing narrowed her eyes and calmly ordered:

”Sun Hao, Zhao Wei, each take a medical kit and treat the most severely wounded.”

”Ten minutes, move fast.”

”Save those who can be saved; leave those who can’t where they are.”

As the words fell, there was not a trace of hesitation or wavering.

Sun Hao and Zhao Wei moved into action quickly.

Carrying the medical kit, Sun Hao was the first to rush to a dying middle-aged man lying on the ground.

He knelt on one knee and efficiently cut open the man’s blood-stained clothes, revealing a laceration deep enough to show the bone.

Blood steamed in the icy snow, rapidly staining the surrounding accumulation a deep crimson.

Sun Hao frowned, took out a disinfectant spray, and ruthlessly sprayed it onto the mangled wound.

The middle-aged man convulsed in pain, letting out a low, hoarse wail.

Sun Hao remained expressionless, using hemostatic forceps to clamp a ruptured vessel while saying coldly:

”Endure it. If you want to live, don’t move.”

On Zhao Wei’s side, it was just as busy.

He skillfully drew a light blue first-aid solution from the kit. While pinning down the violently convulsing body of a frail youth, he roughly plunged the emergency needle into the boy’s carotid artery.

”Hiss—”

As the medicine was injected, the boy’s entire body shuddered violently, as if he had been forcibly pulled back from the brink of death.

Zhao Wei didn’t stop, quickly taking out a special hemostatic bandage and wrapping it tightly, layer after layer, firmly sealing the open wound.

Meanwhile, the nearby recruits had long since turned pale.

They instinctively gripped their guns, their throats tightening and their stomachs churning.

Some stared wide-eyed as blood gushed from wounds like a spring, realizing for the first time what it meant to be on the line between life and death.

Some instinctively wanted to look away, yet they felt pinned to the spot, unable to move.

They could smell the pungent scent of blood in the air, hear the agonizing groans of the injured, and see the bloody foam and torn flesh.

This wasn’t the training ground with its dummies and fake blood.

This was real—

Dirty, painful, vivid, and cruel—death.

One recruit couldn’t help but cover his mouth, nearly vomiting.

Another bit his lip, forcing himself to remain standing.

Their faces were written with shock, fear, discomfort, and a hint of bewildered helplessness.

They had never imagined that ”saving people” was also a life-and-death struggle.

Zhang Tianjin watched coldly, merely casting a faint glance at these recruits as if looking at a flock of little birds that had fallen into a swamp for the first time.

Zhou Cheng stood silently at the rear of the line, slightly blocking the recruits’ view—not to protect them, but to give them time to slowly digest the gore.

Sun Hao gritted his teeth, his hands never stopping, but he thought coldly to himself:

[Get used to it quickly, kids.]

[The Apocalypse won’t give you time for soft-heartedness.]

Soon, the middle-aged man Sun Hao was treating was barely pulled back to life by the emergency medicine. His ruptured vessel was clamped, and he was wrapped tightly in bandages; though his injuries were still severe, he wouldn’t die for the time being.

On Zhao Wei’s side, the frail youth’s breathing gradually stabilized, but he remained unconscious.

The two looked at each other and nodded slightly.

He can be saved.

On the other side, despite Sun Hao’s best efforts to apply pressure and inject first-aid solution, the heart of a blood-soaked woman whose pupils had already begun to dilate eventually slowed to a stop.

Zhao Wei sighed and closed her hollow eyes with a calm motion.

”Leave those who can’t be saved where they are.”

Following Ye Nanxing’s orders, there was no hesitation or lingering.

Ye Nanxing stood quietly in the snow, watching it all.

She didn’t rush them, nor did she intervene.

She had given them a chance—

Those who could seize the chance would live.

Those who couldn’t would be buried in the snow, beyond pity.

Initially, the eyes of the few who were saved were filled with the gratitude and worship of survivors.

”Thank you! Thank you!”

”I... can I follow you? I can do laundry and cook... please!”

”Please, take us with you! Anything for just a bite to eat!”

Their voices were hoarse and humble, carrying the cowardice and hope of those who had crawled back from the edge of death.

At first, this group was only pleading cautiously, as humble as a pack of wild dogs begging for food.

But soon—

When they clearly saw the neat tactical armor, standard-issue firearms, high-performance thermal combat suits, and the emergency medicines hanging from the waists of Ye Nanxing’s group, their gazes quietly changed.

From gratitude to greed.

A middle-aged man gritted his teeth and spoke tentatively:

”Your base must be short on hands, right? A few more people won’t hurt...”

”Take us with you, please, we can work too!”

”You have cars, guns, and food, while we have nothing...”

There was a faint sense of entitlement underlying his words.

Just as the atmosphere reached a subtle stalemate,

One sharp-eyed woman suddenly discovered

That the core figure who had been calmly issuing orders, whom everyone naturally followed—

Was actually a woman!

And she wasn’t very old.

”The leader is... a woman?”

The woman couldn’t help but mutter under her breath.

Hearing this, the expressions of the other survivors shifted slightly.

Shock, confusion, suspicion, and even... hidden contempt began to seep out of their eyes bit by bit.

A scruffy man glanced at Ye Nanxing’s slender yet capable figure, sneered, and whispered:

”A woman can lead a team?”

”Maybe she used some ’means’ to get that position...”

”Hey, how about we find a way to make a move and pressure her? How tough can a woman be?”

His voice was very soft, but in the dead silence of the snowy field, it was still caught by those nearby.

Several people exchanged glances, the greed and malice in their eyes becoming even more apparent.

From the initial plea for help to greed, and now to this moment, covetousness and calculation had finally taken root.

Seeing that Ye Nanxing remained cold and silent, the surrounding survivors finally couldn’t suppress the agitation in their hearts.

A burly man shouted loudly at Ye Nanxing:

”You people! You have food and guns, yet you watch us die without helping!”

”Is your heart a bit too cruel for a woman boss?”

”It’s the Apocalypse, and you’re still so stone-hearted?!”

”Why? Why should we freeze and starve to death while you get to live so well?”

The voices grew louder and more piercing, filled with self-righteous moral kidnapping and naked jealousy.

Sun Hao was the first to move.

He sneered and raised his gun, the bolt clicking back with a crisp, lethal sound.

”Want to die? Say the word, and I’ll oblige you.”

Zhao Wei also slowly tightened his gear, his eyes dark, his entire being radiating a faint murderous aura.

Zhang Tianjin watched coldly without moving, but his fingers on his gun had quietly tightened.

Zhou Cheng remained on the perimeter like a silent boulder, blocking the path of the recruits to prevent anyone from acting impulsively.

As for Yan—

He stood quietly behind Ye Nanxing, his small figure almost swallowed by the wind and snow.

But in that instant, every survivor who drew near him felt as if their heart was being squeezed by an invisible hand, their breath catching abruptly.

An incredibly eerie sense of pressure spread silently.

It was as if—

In the next second, if he so much as lifted a finger, these people would be torn apart like rotting scraps of paper.
