Apocalyptic Disaster: I Hoard Billions in Supplies and Kill the Saint

106: Chapter 106 Community MassacreIn front of the Shelter’s monitors.

Zhao Wei: ”...Tsk, this is really—never tired of watching the show.”

Zhang Tianjin’s gaze was icy: ”They deserve it.”

Zhou Cheng touched the knife hilt at his lower back: ”Should we... go down and clear them out?”

Chu Yunting leaned back in his chair, lazily chewing on a toothpick:

”That depends on what Nanxing thinks.”

Ye Nanxing didn’t speak.

She only watched the screen, focusing on the expressionless Child in the center of the image.

That little tool who was supposed to be ”brought here to act.”

Yet now, his face wore an expression akin to relief.

”Bang bang bang—!!”

The knocking on the fire door grew increasingly frantic, mingled with hoarse cries and fearful shouts.

”Ye Nanxing! We’re all neighbors!! Please open the door—”

”The Child is dying!! Save him!! He’s still young!!”

”You... you can’t just watch someone die without helping!”

Behind the door was the woman from the mother-Child pair who had been let in earlier.

Kowtowing and wailing, she knelt on the ground, as if performing a ”stage play of Apocalypse pleading.”

As for that Child,

When the zombie horde in the community pressed closer, the woman and Child were pushed out of the basement to attract the zombies.

At first, the woman desperately pulled the Child along as she ran.

But—just as the zombies were about to catch up to them.

She suddenly let go—

And shoved the Child out!

”Ah—!”

The little girl fell at the stairwell entrance, crying and trying to grab the hem of her clothes, but she had already turned and fled!

”Mom... Mommy!”

”I’m sorry... I’m sorry, I’m sorry...”

The little boy’s final voice was drowned out by zombie shrieks and tearing sounds.

Blood flowed down through the gaps in the stairs.

The image froze on the moment she glanced back, her face expressionless as she gritted her teeth and sped up.

”Tsk.”

Zhao Wei cursed under his breath and sneered, ”That’s fucking disgusting.”

”Even feeding her own son to the zombies.”

Lin Xiao’s gaze was cold and sharp, ”And now she comes to play the victim?”

Lin Wanru covered her mouth, her eyes reddening as she shook her head, ”She doesn’t deserve it.”

The atmosphere in the room plummeted. No one spoke.

On the monitor screen, the woman collapsed kneeling before the Shelter’s main door, crying as if her heart were breaking.

The next second—

”Groooaaarrr!!!”

An overwhelming wave of zombie sounds erupted violently from within the corridor!

A dense mass of zombie figures squeezed into the hallway like a tide of blood, surging toward the Shelter!

Zhao Wei instinctively stood up: ”What’s going on?! These zombies—why are they all coming toward us?”

Zhou Cheng’s face changed: ”They’re here to—”

Chu Yunting’s gaze suddenly darkened, his voice dropping low:

”...They’re not chasing people.”

”They’re—coming to eat Yan.”

The room fell silent.

”Why...” Lin Xiao murmured, ”Why are they fixated on Yan?”

Chu Yunting closed his eyes, gritting his teeth, ”Because he’s not bait... he’s ’meat.’”

”To them, he’s the most primal, most fragrant ’source of original energy.’”

”The concentration of mental energy is too high.”

”They smelled it.”

Outside, the wind and snow cut like knives.

Behind the main door, a thick metal barrier still held the last line of defense, but from the monitors—it wouldn’t last much longer.

All three floors of the corridor were packed with zombies.

These mutated zombies were different from before. They climbed walls, broke windows, hung down from the rooftop, even tried to ”pry open the ventilation vents,” driven by some sort of ”instinct,” rushing headlong toward the top floor.

Target—Yan.

”Why did you...” Ye Nanxing’s voice was hoarse as she looked at Yan in her arms, her expression complex.

This Child had brought an Apocalypse calamity upon the entire community, yet when Ye Nanxing questioned him, he only spoke quietly:

[They wanted to harm you.]

[They deserve to die.]

[And you also lack warm clothing.]

Ye Nanxing was slightly stunned.

[These zombies, I specifically lured them here.]

[...They have cores in their brains, their skin can be boiled into paste.]

[To make the clothes you want.]

”You mean... their crystal cores?”

Yan nodded.

[They’ve evolved one level beyond ordinary zombies.]

[After mutation, heterogeneous crystals form inside their brains.]

[High energy concentration. Smelted together with their skin, it can refine into ’Thermal Conduction Fluid.’]

[If you coat ordinary clothes with that fluid, it becomes—]

[Warm clothing.]

The air was silent for three seconds.

Zhao Wei was dumbfounded: ”...Are you some kind of Apocalypse alchemist?”

Sun Hao gritted his teeth: ”You actually fucking know how to make it and didn’t say anything sooner?”

Yan looked up at him, his dark eyes clear:

[Can you make it?]

Sun Hao: ”...”

”I really can’t.”

The entire building was already filled and surrounded by zombies.

Sounds of breathing, chewing, and screams rose like a tide in the night.

At the end of the passage, Ye Nanxing’s gaze sharpened, her tone decisive:

”Lin Wanru, you stay inside, take care of Yan.”

”Lock the door. Unless we return, no one opens it.”

”The rest of you—”

She turned her head, her eyes cold.

”Get ready to kill zombies.”

”Clear this place out tonight.”

”And incidentally—make ourselves some clothes.”

Lin Wanru initially wanted to say she could fight, but seeing Yan leaning against her, his face pale as paper, she ultimately said nothing, only nodding: ”Understood.”

”Those bastards who tried to blow the door earlier left behind some ’good stuff.’”

Zhao Wei said while firing through the door’s peephole to suppress the enemy, glancing toward the area where explosives had been set up.

”Bang—”

A shot hit the explosives previously installed by the property management personnel.

”Everyone, take cover!!!”

—”BOOM!!!”

A tremendous explosion erupted at the entrance!

The zombie horde in front of the corridor was instantly blasted apart, limbs flying, flesh mangled, tearing a breach in the tide!

”Go!”

Zhang Tianjin swung his long axe, charging out of the corridor first, plowing into the zombie horde like a heavy tank.

All combat members rushed out the door close behind.

The door behind them locked with a ”click.”

”Me, Zhang Tian, Zhao Wei—take the main entrance!”

”Chu Yunting, Zhou Cheng, Sun Hao, exit from the rooftop, jump to the opposite building and flank them!”

Ye Nanxing issued orders, her movements unceasing, her long blade flashing, cold light like lightning severing zombie heads one after another.

The rooftop skylight opened, and the other team climbed out.

Sun Hao waved his dagger at her, growling as he leaped down: ”Wait for us to take them from behind!”

The community wasn’t large, but the terrain was remote, making it a natural cage at this moment.

The mental attraction released by Yan had drawn hundreds of zombies, densely crawling over the corridors and courtyard, pressing toward the Shelter like a tide.

—Target clear.

It was Yan.

Zhang Tian roared: ”Left side is an evolved type! I’ll hold it—Zhao Wei, clear the right!”

”Clear my ass, you old bastard!!”

Zhao Wei cursed, tossing a modified thermobaric grenade. Flames exploded mid-air, blasting a gap in the zombies near the parking spaces!

Sun Hao knelt behind a car, firing continuously with his gun, suppressing two leaping-type zombies that had flipped down from the building.

”Three meters to the right rear! Zhou Cheng, smash its knees!”

”Received!”

Zhou Cheng wielded a heavy hammer, ”Clang!” shattering the mutated creature’s knee. The zombie lunged forward but was knocked back to its original spot.

And the next second, a figure flashed past like lightning—

A long blade precisely pierced the back of its skull, killing it in one strike!

It was Chu Yunting.

He had circled around from behind. Raising his blade and dropping it, he landed, spun around, and kicked another lunging, mangled zombie five meters away.

”Be decisive,” he said quietly. ”Leave no survivors.”
