Genshin Impact: Spoiling the Future

The matter of the old illness is something Collei is willing to tell the Traveler, so Tighnari will tell it to the Traveler.

After these few days of interaction, the Traveler truly treats Collei as a friend, and Collei naturally wants to treat the Traveler equally in return.

If you treat me as a statesman, I will repay you as a statesman.

Based on this idea, Collei is willing to tell the Traveler about her past trauma.

[”Actually, Collei has suffered from a disease called ’Eleazar’ since she was young,” Tighnari says.]

[”This is a disease unique to Sumeru, named because gray-black scaly tissues appear on the patient’s body.”]

’Eleazar’! The appearance of these word makes the people of Sumeru furrow their brows.

Outsiders may not understand this disease, but for the people of Sumeru, no one is unaware of the terror of this disease.

No wonder Collei was so clumsy before; it turns out it’s because of this disease.

Dunyarzad sighs even more; that girl actually has the same condition as her.

Back when everyone watched the animation together and celebrated for the Dendro God, neither girl had shown that they suffered from ’Eleazar.’

They cried and celebrated just like everyone else, appearing no different from the rest.

They didn’t want to be treated differently because of this; being treated as normal people was their wish.

Now, from the prophecy book, Dunyarzad learns that the other also suffers from ’Eleazar.’

”Truly a strong girl,” Dunyarzad says with a smile.

Dehya says: ”The young lady is too.”

Dunyarzad shakes her head: ”I’m actually not that strong...”

She once thought of giving up; it was Nahida who saved her. The Nahida who accompanied her back then was the motivation for her to live on.

She survived, she met Nahida, and after the relief of having her wish fulfilled, there was no sense of emptiness; she discovered that her motivation to live on had become even more.

Dunyarzad looks at Dehya before her and suddenly feels that she and Miss Collei are really alike; even their close friends are Pyro girls.

The Pyro ones truly have ’deep sins’; each one is so charming.

In comparison, the ’Doctor’ is truly full of deep sins.

Lucian drew a short illustration segment, roughly explaining Collei’s past under Tighnari’s narration.

Tighnari tells the Traveler that Eleazar is an incurable disease; the patient will gradually lose mobility.

But when Collei was young, someone deceived her mother, saying that the ’Fatui’ had a way to treat Eleazar, and in the end, Collei was sent to the ’Doctor’s’ hands.

The ’Doctor’ did indeed suppress Eleazar, but the process absolutely cannot be called pleasant.

Some people within the Fatui know some inside information; it seems to be human experiments involving ’God remnants.’

And Lucian’s illustration also confirms this; the ’God remnants’ were ’put into’ Collei’s body.

During that time, Eleazar was indeed suppressed, but the price was constant torment from the God remnants.

Torment, experiments, nightmares, an environment with no one to confide in—it can be said she grew up in extreme repression.

The current Collei is still quite cheerful; this is entirely because after that, she met good people.

Originally, when she had just left the ’Fatui,’ she was very ’aggressive’ and didn’t like interacting with people, with a lot of hostility.

But under the care of Amber and others, Collei gradually changed, leading to her current self.

Collei is unfortunate; she was used by the Doctor for human experiments, but Collei is also fortunate; after that, she met her own white moonlight.

Scaramouche is the complete opposite; he initially met good people, his white moonlight, so back then he was also good, very shy and polite.

But after that, he met the ’Doctor,’ and it was directly over.

Both of their lives started falling apart from meeting the ’Doctor’; it can only be said, worthy of the Doctor.

Fatui: I attacked your respected Harbinger? Then you can also attack my respected Harbinger—the Doctor! Welcome to give bad reviews!

Speaking of which, if Scaramouche had gone to Liyue, he would probably have been picked up and taken home by the adeptus who loves collecting children; such an interesting puppet, that woman would be very interested.

If he went to Mondstadt, Mondstadters, if nothing else, are truly hospitable.

That’s why Mondstadt has so many mountains; turns out it’s the hospitable Shandong!

Ahem, off topic; back to the story. After Tighnari finishes talking about Collei’s past, he’s still helping Collei relay a message:

[”By the way, Paimon, Collei asked me to tell you she’s very sorry for scaring you yesterday. Also, she said: Sorry for hiding my condition from you all at the beginning.”]

[”No no, this isn’t Collei’s fault; she doesn’t need to apologize!” Paimon waves her hands hurriedly.]

Yes, this isn’t Collei’s fault, nor the Traveler and Paimon’s fault; whose fault is it then?

[”She once thought she didn’t have the qualification to gain friendship; please don’t let my disciple go through similar pain again,” Tighnari says.]

This statement is truly gentle to the extreme; everyone can feel little Tighnari’s care for Collei.

Master Master, truly a parent without blood ties.

The real-life Collei already has red-rimmed eyes; honestly, she didn’t expect the book to have such content.

She finally learned to read and could happily read the book; originally, it was two happy things combined, so why did it turn into this?

Wuwuwu, Collei sheds tears; although she cried from reading, she truly feels very happy in her heart.

Happy as she is, she still glances at Lucian a couple times: the promised Master’s appearance would be fun? This kind of fun! And why do I have so much screen time!

To this, Lucian can only say, it truly is fun, I think.

As for your screen time, I indeed didn’t say you had screen time, but I also didn’t say you didn’t! A prophet playing with the art of language, what’s wrong with that!

Collei’s screen time isn’t just there; it’s a lot. In the story, Tighnari still plans to find some more medicine for Collei; the Traveler naturally is willing to help.

[”Tighnari, where are we going to find this kind of plant?” Paimon asks.]

Where Tighnari goes, mention where and go there!

According to the place Tighnari mentioned, everyone gathers Nilotpala Lotus there; at this time, rangers come running to report.

It turns out there’s a ’Withering’ existing not far ahead.

This ’Withering’ thing is also a Sumeru specialty; it causes plants to wither and also takes away the lives of animals and humans—it’s the ’Baldy Strong’ that the rangers have to deal with.

From this, it seems Sumeru, although it looks habitable on the surface, has no lack of ’corruption’ in its interior.

Right now, just what the readers know includes specialties like ’Withering’ and ’Eleazar.’

Later, they’ll discover issues like internal divisions in Sumeru, academic cliques’ dictatorship, and more. If truly compared, the survival conditions aren’t necessarily better than Inazuma’s.

The Akademiya’s academic cliques look down on everything else, so in Sumeru, you must participate in the academic cliques’ factional strife; otherwise, it’s hard to cross class barriers.

Even reaching the level of Dolly and Nilou can’t change the views of those old pedants in the Akademiya.

This point is not as good as Inazuma; in Inazuma, making fireworks, blacksmithing, even selling milk tea or writing novels—no one will say anything about you.

Even if you do well, you’ll receive the Shogun’s personal commendation, praising you to your face.

Ei gives you a thumbs up.
