I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 2210: 25.100 Lone Black Star - Retreating Vines

By the time the Grand Duke and his people had come out of the medicine pods and completely healed their wounds, the crown prince and his troops had successfully pushed back the waves of zergs that were coming for them. The Zerg Prince noticed that the Crown Prince and his people were a lot stronger compared to the one they had almost conquered just now. It sees the human crown prince as an equal who possessed the power to kill him. Due to this realization, it chose to retreat first and make plans. The actions of the Zerg Prince made the human race frowned. As this meant, that the monster on the other side truly had an intelligence so similar to that of a human which meant that he would be a harder opponent to kill. It might have retreated if it didn’t truly leave this star system.

At the space headquarters of the Empire...

At the medical bay, the moment the Grand Duke and his people woke up and came out of the medicine pods, there were already people waiting for them. After the group had bathed and changed their clothes, some soldier under the crown prince had invited the Grand Duke to come over.

”Your highness, the Grand Duke. The Crown Prince wishes to invite you over,” someone from the side of the Crown prince said.

Another soldier added, ”If the grand duke is worried about the duchess, then we can only wait for now. The crown princess wasn’t done with his treatment and cannot see the grand duke for now.”

The Grand Duke, Lord Ye Jie, didn’t expect that his son is still not done with the treatment of his wife. This only meant that the injuries his paired guide is suffering from is not a simple mental contamination like what others had experienced in the battlefield. But something else was involved in it, and the situation isn’t as simple as before. With a serious expression on his slightly pale face, the Grand Duke had responded.

”Bring me to where the Crown Prince is,” said Lord Ye Jie.

The two soldiers had escorted the Grand Duke to the command center where the Crown Prince was waiting. When the door had opened, he had entered the room and saw a huge screen split into countless videos with surveillance around the area of their space territory. Seeing the damage which was showing to almost half of the split screens the frown on the grand duke had deepened. He didn’t expect that the destruction caused by the last attack had caused such a devastating aftermath.

Seeing the scene, the Grand duke couldn’t help but grip his hands into fist as he felt that he had truly failed to protect this place. If the crown prince hadn’t arrived on time, they would most likely be all killed in this place. He should have listened to his son and allowed him to protect the elite force of his group. Allowed more guides in the frontlines and not only those would paired sentinels. By the time he had entered, he heard the crown prince issuing commands to find more survivors. The people on the other side were busy finding these people. After all, as long as they still have a breath on them, they can still live.

But as the Grand Duke had approached, the crown prince had longed to notice his arrival. Right now, the black flood dragon quantum beast of the crown prince was protecting the barrier made by the world tree which is the quantum beast of his crown princess. Even after the battle had temporarily stopped, the barrier around the space territory hadn’t disappeared at all. Ye Qinya noticed that anyone from their side can pass through it. So going out and going in is not impossible, but they are not allowed to bring in anything from the outside, especially the remains of insect race.

”Imperial Uncle, you are awake,” said Ye Qinya. ”How are you feeling?”

”Much better. How is the situation?” The Grand Duke asked.

The Crown Prince, Ye Qinya, said, ”Not entirely bad. At least we are able to keep half of the warehouses, the medicine garden, the hospital and the command center. Imperial Uncle, you have done well protecting the important areas. With this situation the headquarters can still go running as usual. The problem right now is that we can only cook and eat outside the barrier. Right now, except for normal ingredients, anything that involves the zergs were shut out.”

”Where is Yun’er? Did you have contact with him?” Lord Ye Jie asked.

The Crown Prince, Ye Qinya said, ”I speak to him for a short while.” He controlled the cameras and free two split screens to show the Grand Duke the surgery room which is completely protected by the tree vines of the Crown Princess’s quantum beast. It prevents anyone from approaching, including the crown prince himself.

The moment the grand duke saw this scene, he knew that his son and wife were definitely inside.

The Grand Duke, Lord Ye Jie said, ”Isn’t this Yun’er’s quantum beast? Why is he blocking everyone from approaching?”

”I went here an hour ago and got to speak with Yun’er for a short while. He said that he will be entering the Imperial Aunt’s soul domain and start repairing it. During that time, he won’t be able to talk to anyone in reality as would be focusing on the treatment. During this time, any attacks from the outside would be able to kill him, that’s why his quantum beast is not allowing anyone else to enter this room. We can only wait until Yun’er comes out himself,” said the Crown Prince, Ye Qinya.

Upon hearing this, the mood of the Grand Duke had turned gloomy. He asked, ”Is my wife’s injuries that bad?”

”According to Yun’er, Imperial Aunt’s suicidal attack at the last moment had overload his mental energy. That energy was like a self explosion from within. It was halted at the last moment yet his soul domain had suffered deep cracks, if it wasn’t treated well, Imperial Aunt might become a cripple. This is something Yun’er is trying to prevent which leads to such a long term treatment,” The Crown Prince explained.

When Lord Ye Jie heard about this, he felt his world had almost collapsed and everything had turned black. The Grand Duke staggered and the crown prince had to prevent him from falling and even help him to sit properly.

”Imperial Uncle, please believe in Yun’er. He will definitely save the Imperial Aunt.” The Crown Prince comforted.

The Grand Duke covered his face with his hands and started trembling. Even though there was no sound of crying, everyone can guess that their great general is crying at this moment. The one in critical condition is after all his beloved wife, his guide and his family. It was well known how much the Grand Duke loves the duchess. No one in the Empire knew that it was the Grand Duke who had chosen his own duchess and not someone the royal family had chosen for him. To be with the duchess, he had given up his position as one of the heirs and it was his elder brother, the current emperor who had helped him protect his love.

After all, the Mo Clan after the death of the First Empress, became a part of the royal family and their descendants had become greedy, wanting to take over the throne. Eventually, it became the most ancient and powerful noble clan that could contend against the royal family. It was because of this reason, that the Grand Duke had lost his heir position as he had chosen someone from the Mo Clan. Even though it was well known that Mo Jing was no longer considered as a part of the Mo Clan, just the fact that he is surnamed Mo made the royal family guarded towards him. But Mo Jing is the only person Lord Ye Jie had fallen in love with. To protect Mo Jing from both the royal family and the Mo Clan, he can only help his elder brother take the throne and kill the rest of their half-siblings until they have become the last line of the royal family.

To make sure that even his elder brother will not see him and Mo Jing as enemies, the two of them had made a heavenly oath that that the two of them and their biological children will never yearn for the throne. Only then did Emperor Ye Wang fully believe that his younger brother and his family would never betray him. It was also thanks to this oath that the two brothers continue to love and protect one another.

But now the Duchess himself was in danger, if not for their foster son, Ye Caoyun, who is also the current crown princess, the Grand Duke would have become insane. After all, the Duchess was his life and him being in danger greatly damaged his reason for living.

While the command center had suddenly fallen into a state of complete silence, a contact from the surgery room had suddenly reached out to them. There are some guards waiting at the distance, they were placed their to watch over the area for any changes and to be reported to them immediately.
