I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 1838: 24.99 Sixth Violet Star - Meeting the Old Marshal Again

Everyone didn’t expect that the dead would come back to life and even become something akin to a monster that attacks its own kind. However, when they saw those pair of inhuman crimson eyes, everyone shivers especially to the ones it had stared longer than the rest.

Growls~

The inhuman sound that came from the corpse made me shiver and even the old marshal frowned. He couldn’t understand how the dead were able to move like this. However, he can see the danger this thing brings.

”Subdue it! Don’t get bitten or scratched! We don’t know if this state is contagious!” Long Huang, the old marshal commanded.

The soldiers crowded to jump on the being when suddenly it started to attack the nearest man holding a torch. Everyone didn’t expect it to choose a target among everyone and thought that it was brainless being made from someone’s corpse.

Growls~

”Dodge it!” Someone shouted to the man being targeted.

By reflex, the man threw the torch in his hand to the monster’s face and backed away. This instinctive move seems to be effective as it directly hits the man’s eyes. For those who can only see through light, a sudden direct illumination made it lose control. It covers its face while screaming. The soldiers captured it at that split moment of time.

By the time, Xie Hei and Xie Yun had arrived, the whole scene had just calmed down. The old marshal noticed their arrival.

”You guys are here. Could you check what this one is? It suddenly made a corpse animated and started attacking people,” said Long Huang.

Xie Hei approached the monster and observed it. Seeing the black lines in its skin, the face of the former Black Jaguar Beast God turned pale.

He said with urgency, ”Yun’er burn it!”

The big black jaguar beside him threw a fireball from its mouth and burned it down. It seems to completely stop this monster you need to burn it down. Everyone was shocked with what he had done. They didn’t see him hesitate to burn it down.

Xie Hei with a serious expression on his face looked around and asked, ”DId someone get bitten or scratched?”

”No one. I’m sure of it!” The old marshal said.

Only then did the expression on Pavilion Master Xie Hei be relieved for a bit. Xie Yun in his beast form suddenly rubs his head to his master’s legs and speaks in his mind.

Xie Yun said, ’Master, something is coming over to this place. There are quite a number but less than a hundred. One of them is extremely powerful.’

Xie Hei frowned and looked at the old marshal, ”Lao Long, something is coming! One extremely strong!”

”Is it them?” Long Huang asked only to see Xie Hei nod his head.

The old marshal’s face turned stern when heard these details and commanded, ”Everyone get ready for battle!”

The soldiers didn’t question this command and did as they were told while the assassins were being controlled by Xie Hei making them work together with the soldiers. Everyone was actually warned about this beforehand and their plan for this event had been shared ahead of time. With the old marshal leading, almost everyone followed his command.

Those who were not good in the fight like the doctors were guarded at the rear with some soldiers and assassins. They were warned not to use light no matter what kind and in a real dangerous situation they can use a flashlight to directly blind the beasts if they are attacked tonight.

They followed the formation they were told to use and had to walk in small teams. They peered within the darkness surrounding them. The light in the camp had long been extinguished. Their breathing was controlled and they kept the highest guard at this moment.

They were looking in a certain direction when they heard movement not too far from the camp. Suddenly a group of red eyes were peering on them and what comes after is the sound of roaring that only mad beasts howls with.

ROAAR~

A few large shadows jumped into the group. Xie Hei and Xie Yun kick two which landed back to where the other beasts are.

Xie Hei shouted, ”Do not get bitten or scratched!! You will end up like that corpse from before. These are monsters that lurk in the darkness.”

”We are allowed to talk?” Long Huang asked.

Xie Hei responded, ”Yes! These things are deaf and they can only see the light. Throw a few sources of light. Make sure it will only glow when it is no longer in your hand or you will get targeted!”

Some assassins were instructed to do this and threw something like a toy which glowed in a delayed manner. As expected, the beasts were attracted by it and chased after the light. With that slight deeming light, everyone had seen what kind of beast they were fighting with.

A beast with shadow like fur, muscular in body shape and fierce red irises. It was a beast with no uniformed appearance. It was going well at first. But mistakes cannot be avoided. In the end, one of the soldiers had turned the light first before he could throw it away.

At that moment, all the other beasts had focused on him. He had become their sole target. Seeing this, the soldier bravely detached from the group and ran away. This is not an attempt to escape, but instead the intention of the soldier is to use himself as bait to lessen the burden on his brother. After all, it was only he who had made that mistake.

The soldier chose to sacrifice himself without hesitation.

It detached from the group and lit a torch. It waves it to capture the attention of most beasts and he even shouted.

”Over here!”

”What are you doing, soldier!” Long Huang bellowed.

The soldier smiled and saluted the old leader.

He said, ”Old Sir, and my brothers, thank you for things!”

The soldier with a bright glowing torch in his hand had run away from the camp and chasing after him were more than half of the beasts that came to attack them. The others in the camp did their best to eliminate the other beasts as soon as they could help that brave soldier from before.

On the other hand, Zhi Yue who was watching the whole scene noticed that the camp will be alright now and instead chased after that one human who lured most of the beast away. The same tactics Zhi Yang had used. The difference is that Zhi Yang can definitely finish the job and kill the beast while this human soldier will most likely get eaten alive instead.

Zhi Yue murmured, ”I should after the one that left the camp.”

He was about to leave and took a last glance to the camp where he met eyes with the old marshal and gave him a playful salute before disappearing in the direction where the one soldier had run off and is now being chased by those mad beasts.

He flew to the direction looking for the lone soldier. But when he saw him it was already too late and Zhi Yang was standing beside the man checking him for scratches and wounds. There are some and he can only pull out a healing and purification scroll to heal this soldier’s wounds.

Zhi Yue was dumbfounded as he saw the pile of ashes around the two and jumped on Zhi Yang, his partner. He suddenly bit his cheek like a child. Used to this kind of antics from his alter ego he waited until Zhi Yue started complaining.

The silly God of the Moon said, ”You didn’t save me even one. I haven’t fought even a single thing! Unfair! I am the one who was bored but I didn’t even get to kill one. Lord Hei is going to laugh at me when we report this to him. Boohoo~”

The soldier who had just woke up thought that he had entered the afterlife upon seeing Zhi Yue and Zhi Yang floating near him and a pile of ashes and small suns surrounding the area to illuminate the place.

The soldier said, ”Is this the afterlife? I’ve died!”

Seeing this System Yue chose to tease this soldier. ”That’s right you are in the afterlife. You have done a lot of bad things when you are still alive so you will be judged here. The result will either lead you to heaven or to hall.”

The soldier looked a bit silly except for his big size, he was as naive as his eyes were clear. He didn’t question Zhi Yue’s words and even scratched his head.

”I don’t know what bad things I have done but... will peeking to the women’s bath after being dragged by my comrades count?” The soldier asked honestly.

Pfft~

Ahaha~

Zhi Yue started laughing out loud while Zhi Yang covered his lip trying to hide his smile. The soldier looked even more bewildered when he saw them laughing.

”Oh my god~ so silly! Come with us! You’ve passed. We will bring you back to heaven!” Zhi Yue said while Zhi Yang helped the soldier up.

The soldier gave his thanks to Zhi Yang and followed the two. Only when they saw the camp that is so familiar in his eyes that he realized that he was fooled. But he was happy to see his comrade welcoming him back along with the old marshal.

He mumbles, ”I am... still alive?”

”Of course, silly one. Go and see your friends,” said Zhi Yue.

On the other hand, Zhi Yang approached the old marshal. Though they didn’t officially get introduced to one another, they had bumped into them in the Long Clan when they came to meet Lord Hunluan and Lord An Shizhe.

Zhi Yang said, ”By the orders of our masters and the ancient lords, we came to support you for tonight’s event.”
