The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 1555: Chapter 1572: We Must Find Yueyue 1

The air fell into a silence.

After a while, Tang Yan asked, ”By the way, why are you here? Who was that woman just now? What exactly happened?”

”She... she is Mrs. Nangong...”

Tang Yan took a deep breath, looking quite surprised.

”I didn’t expect that she is the mother of Nangong Yaoling...”

He thought that Mrs. Nangong should be a very elegant and proper woman, but he couldn’t associate her with the chaotic and hysterical woman he just saw.

”I wonder if there is some misunderstanding between you two? Her behavior just now really didn’t seem like what Mrs. Nangong should display...”

Xiaonuan couldn’t help but smile bitterly.

”Maybe, this matter isn’t something that can be explained in a few words.” She paused, her gaze wandering outside the window: ”If possible, I also wish I could leave as freely as Qi Yue.”

Tang Yan’s pupils contracted, looking at Xia Xiaonuan’s profile with worry and confusion.

”May I ask boldly, did you and the Young Master... did you two have a fight?”

Xiaonuan shook her head.

Was it considered a fight? She would rather he argue with her openly than have this cold war right now.

Tang Yan sighed lightly.

After a while, he suddenly spoke again: ”You might find it a bit presumptuous, but if you’re willing, I think I can help you.”

Xia Xiaonuan was taken aback; she turned her head to look at Tang Yan.

He smiled at her, showing his neat teeth.

”I know, at the time Yueyue needed help the most, you were always there supporting her, taking care of her. She even mentioned you to me. You are not only her friend but also her benefactor. If you need help, I truly wish to be of service to you. If you want to leave, I can take you away.”

The evening glow rose on the horizon, dyeing the entire sky as red as blood.

In the flickering light, she looked at Tang Yan’s pure face, and suddenly, a complex emotion surged in her heart, causing a slight tremor inside.

This Tang Yan gave her a feeling of déjà vu.

Because he seemed like the youthful Nan Mo.

Yet he wasn’t Nan Mo; compared to him, Tang Yan appeared even more pure and kind.

Because he hadn’t experienced the ups and downs of life, his entire life was filled with the love of his family and parents. She suddenly thought, if Shaochen hadn’t experienced being abandoned by family and later found, perhaps he wouldn’t have become who he is now.

Many paths in life are beyond one’s control to choose, so more often, after being hurt, people tend to hide their true selves.

So much so that now, she couldn’t see through him anymore.

And unchanged is Nangong Yaoling; he remains the same, that domineering, arrogant, imperious, yet deeply affectionate him.

She is so afraid that one day, when Nangong Yaoling faces the devastation behind the glamorous facade of life, he will change as well, becoming like Nan Mo, deeply hiding his inner self, becoming someone she can no longer understand.

Her heart trembled slightly, staring at Tang Yan’s pupils, which were slightly red.

”Are you... are you okay?” Tang Yan felt a bit uncomfortable being stared at by her, turning slightly red in the cheeks, and asked awkwardly.

Xiaonuan couldn’t help but shake her head with a smile.

”I’m fine...” She also felt a bit embarrassed and looked away. After thinking for a moment, she glanced back at him: ”Is what you said true? Are you really willing to help me?”
