Now, Epal had reached the bunker areas, with information given to them by the others before they entered. It didn’t even take him long.

He and his teammates rested about a hundred meters away, not far from an ongoing fight.

Like every other person, Superspeed fighters also get exhausted after using their powers, especially after continuous use. He took fifteen minutes to rest a bit, though his eyes never left the target hiding on the sentry.

He also drank a mana potion, double checked his own equipment, and so on.

”I’m ready,” he said after a while, and one of his teammates, Lak—a superstrength power—nodded, and they headed to the edge after avoiding a couple of battles.

Lak grabbed him, and Epal stood over Lak’s shoulders. With a huff, Lak activated one of his skills [Super Throw] and the next thing Epal knew, he was already midair.

He was thrown straight up the sentry, all while avoiding its shot. Using his superior dexterity, the fighter regained his balance and landed at its roof.

At this time, Althea was looking away, targeting others. Without making a sound, he stepped onto the platform with her and immediately attacked with his C-Class Dagger! He did not even hold back, using a skill.

[Fortified Quick Fist]

Crack!

His attack was blocked by a shield, followed by the sound of cracking. The woman herself was fine. However, he was not surprised.

Since Epal was one of the people assigned to assassinate the potential Lords (cowards, he called them, hiding their title and making things difficult for people), he was made aware of a few things.

One of these was the apparent abundance of protection charms in this place. But, no matter. He heard the level wasn’t too high, so a skill attack or a few normal attacks from a level 30 like him could destroy it.

He just had to attack her continuously, and his superspeed certainly took effect. Using a good portion of his mana, he sent out continuous punches, making sure to send his attack before she could even turn to retaliate!

Crack!

Crack!

Unexpectedly, after several dozen quick shots, she managed to turn around and shield herself.

How many protection tokens did this woman have!!?

...

By this time, Alterra had already faced him, but the speedster simply attacked again.

Althea narrowed her eyes, kneeling down to avoid an attack, and then summoned a large amount of water from her space.

If she were in trouble, all she had to do was activate her flare. Ministers had different colors of flares as well, as was recommended by everyone else. Carrying it was one of the conditions that she was allowed to go out and fight on her own.

Another condition was that she had to have a team and a powerhouse near her, in which case it was Gaia, but they were all busy right now.

Calling for help at this juncture, Althea knew, would distract her people. It could very much cause them to be injured even more, so she would try to deal with it—and find a way to run to the people who could deal with him— on her own.

Besides, although the level difference was there, Althea believed she was not so helpless.

The speedster continued to send her his attacks. Not caring about the water around him. Rather, he was even dismissive of it.

But water had something called inertia and sudden deceleration. At high speed, water behaved much like a solid.

With the right conditions, water could be a shield in and of itself.

Althea had never used it this way. Who’d have thought the enemy himself would activate this condition?

BANG!

”AHH!” Epal screamed, holding up his shivering hand, feeling as if he had just punched something solid. ”What did you do!?”

In his anger, he raised his other arm and sent another fast punch through the water, receiving similar passive retaliation!

”AHHHHH!”

Then, without another word, this water splashed all over him. Not only that, but each drop started to burn like acid!!

”AHHHH!!!” He screamed in shock and pain. Not enough to kill but a few seconds of distracting a speedster was enough. He was wearing good defense equipment, and she did not dare to take a close stab at him, knowing it would only delay her escape.

Althea took this chance to jump down the sentry while rotating her body so she faced him. She raised her highest-level bow and arrow set, the Bellagio, and summoned a lot of energy, consuming a lot of mana, to create a hopefully lethal shot.

As she fell, she was caught by vines that she had crawled onto the tower before the war started. The starting point of the vines was from above, so it bypassed the non-scalable quality of the sentry.

”Gah!!” She heard his scream as she was caught, and she smiled a bit in relief. She had targeted his neck, but she didn’t have the chance to check how deep it went.

She went down, heading to Gaia’s area. She was now fighting against five level 30s. Gaia’s level was high, but it was mostly sustained by aether crystals. While she was not in danger, she also couldn’t free her hands.

Althea decided to head there and help out instead.

Unexpectedly, before she could take a step forward, she felt another force coming at her. And it was hostile.

Fortunately, another force appeared in front of her. She lifted her head to see her husband’s broad back.

He was sweaty and panting, obviously rushing here.

Two level 39s appeared, sporting wicked grins on their faces. They had blood on their hands, extending to their arms.

Whose blood it was, it certainly wasn’t theirs, but they didn’t know whose.

The two grinned, looking at the couple with meaningful looks in their eyes.

”Looks like we came just in time.”
