Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

After checking all the Storage Bags and their harvest, Ye Jingcheng kept only a few stalks of Spirit Medicine and gave the rest entirely to Ye Jingyu.

Although Ye Jingcheng hadn’t entered the Secret Realm, he had sent four of his Spirit Beasts inside, so he would not be shortchanged on his rightful share. In fact, since his combat power had played a decisive role, family rules dictated he should receive at least thirty percent of the spoils. However, now that he had reached the Nascent Soul realm, ordinary resources were of little use to him, so he simply gave them all to Ye Jingyu.

Moreover, before entering the Secret Realm, Ye Jingyu had privately spent his own Spirit Stones to buy a Tier Five Primordial Cyan Profound Grass for him. Naturally, this made Ye Jingcheng care even less about these ordinary resources.

Ye Jingyu didn’t stand on ceremony. He knew that Ye Jingcheng truly didn’t lack common resources, but to him, this was like offering charcoal in a snowy winter. As an Array Master, his ability to acquire resources was inherently weaker than that of an Alchemy Master. Coupled with the fact that he was currently juggling the Ye Family’s management in the Yan Kingdom, he had even less time to refine Array Discs for sale.

His Jade Qilin Flood Dragon was currently only at the Tier Three Peak and had not yet broken through to Tier Four. As for his Blue Jade Flood Dragon, with the Advancement Pill it received this time, it could break through to the Mid-stage Fourth Tier, but its demand for other Spirit Medicine resources and Spirit Pills was equally immense.

Furthermore, he was hesitating over whether he should switch his cultivation to the Celestial Divination Nine Stars Spiritual Scripture Technique. Even his father, Ye Xingliu, was already at the Late Stage of Purple Mansion; breaking through to the Purple Mansion Peak, and eventually to the Golden Core realm, would require a massive amount of resources.

”Fourth Brother, when switching to these techniques, it is best to do so within the Demon Refining Pillar,” Ye Jingcheng cautioned after they had settled the resource distribution. After all, these techniques had passed through the hands of True Monarch Chi Xue. There was a chance the Penglai Sect might have sneakily tampered with them. Although the probability was low, it never hurt to be cautious.

”Do we need to warn the cultivators of the other sects?” Ye Jingyu asked after a moment of hesitation, his thoughts turning to the techniques.

The other sects he referred to were naturally the Tian Dao Sect, the Gu Family, the Xiao Family, and the rest. The Taiyi Sect and Medicine King Valley didn’t need any warning, but these Golden Core Influences were still oblivious to the Penglai Sect’s methods.

”Ignore them. It’s beyond our control anyway,” Ye Jingcheng said, shaking his head after some hesitation. ”As for these sects, we just need to be careful around them. Especially when it comes to marriages or bringing in live-in sons-in-law, they must also be tested before the Demon Refining Pillar.”

Although the Ye Family’s current strength appeared incredibly formidable, Ye Jingcheng knew perfectly well that it was still far from enough to face the Penglai Sect. Even Medicine King Valley had six or seven Nascent Soul Cultivators, meaning the Penglai Sect could easily have between ten and twenty, not to mention their legendary Divinity Transformation Cultivators.

The Ye Family just needed to ensure their own survival for now. If they meddled in others’ affairs and exposed the Demon Refining Pillar, it would truly spell devastating disaster for the family.

Next, the two discussed the development of the Eastern Domain for a while, mainly focusing on the Tian Dao Sect.

Currently, the Ye Family controlled forty percent of the Yan Kingdom’s territory, making them the kingdom’s largest faction. However, how to allocate personnel and develop more securely required careful planning. According to Ye Jingyu, the Ye Family would continue to control the Celestial Protection Commandery, while the remaining territories would still be governed by the Tian Dao Sect. The Ye Family only needed to assign Ye Jingfeng to oversee the Tian Dao Sect’s Treasure Pavilion and the distribution of Treasures.

This way, they wouldn’t have to worry about any existing spies within the Tian Dao Sect. It also prevented them from investing too heavily in the Eastern Domain, which could otherwise make it difficult for the Ye Family to safely withdraw if something happened to Medicine King Valley. Most importantly, the various Golden Core Cultivators of the Tian Dao Sect wouldn’t harbor resentment, which would be more conducive to the Ye Family’s control.

Naturally, the Ye Family’s Restaurants and other shops needed to cover all four commanderies. At the same time, without being restricted by a sect, the family’s Restaurants, Pill Pavilions, Artifact Shops, and Beast Workshops could operate freely without having their profits siphoned off. The revenue earned from these businesses would be equally substantial.

”Fourth Brother, let’s do it this way. The family’s future direction is primarily towards the Central Domain; we truly can’t arrange for many members of the Communication Beast Clan here,” Ye Jingcheng said, nodding in strong approval of the family’s future policies.

The Ye Family’s current plan was to gradually increase their control over the Central Domain’s Xiaoshan Prefecture and Wangqing Prefecture after hosting the Nascent Soul ceremony, before steadily expanding into Tianshu Mansion. Once everything was settled, Ye Jingcheng would reveal his Nascent Soul Cultivation base, elevating the family into the fifth Nascent Soul Power of the Southern Wilderness Province.

Coupled with Prince Wang, who had already broken through, and their relationship with Xu Huai True Monarch, the Ye Family’s future development in the Central Domain—while perhaps not explosive—would definitely be far better than in the Eastern Domain. The continuous hostility from the Penglai Sect and their historical ties with the Eight Desolates Sect were like thorns perpetually lodged in the Ye Family’s side.

After chatting for a little while longer, Ye Jingcheng left Lingyun Lake.

Instead of going straight to Fairy Linghong, he headed to the family’s Ancestral Hall.

In front of the Ancestral Hall stood Ye Yunchang, Ye Tengyuan, and Ye Tengxue. The three of them looked slightly nervous. Although they had already said their goodbyes to the rest of the family, they still felt a bit uneasy.

After all, they were heading to the unknown Western Domain. Aside from knowing that it was full of deserts, had denser Earth Attribute Spiritual Energy, and was home to many monks, they knew very little else about it. Particularly, Ye Jingcheng had given them a mission to find a new clan grounds. This task could determine the future legacy of the Ye Family, which naturally felt somewhat heavy for the three Foundation Establishment Cultivators.

”How are your preparations coming along?” Ye Jingcheng asked as he walked into the Ancestral Hall. As he spoke, he approached the memorial tablets and respectfully picked up several sticks of Spirit Fragrance. With his sleeves rolled up and his gaze devout, he didn’t look like a Nascent Soul Cultivator at this moment, but rather an ordinary family elder.

”Reporting to Eleventh Uncle, we are ready.”

”Reporting to Eleventh Ancestor, we are ready,” the three of them replied, nodding.

Ye Jingcheng didn’t answer immediately. He carefully lit the Sandalwood and watched the Sandalwood Mist curl upwards before speaking with a sigh. ”I asked Qingshuang this before, and now I will ask you three. In your eyes, what is the family?”

”The family is unity of purpose, the evergreen pursuit of the Immortal Dao, and working together...” Ye Tengxue was the first to answer this time. They had all attended the Clan Studies and possessed a deeply rooted sense of belonging to the Ye Family.

Ye Tengyuan and Ye Yunchang also shared their views. In Ye Jingcheng’s eyes, their answers were much better than what he had said when Ye Xingliu asked him the same question back in the day.

Today, however, he looked at the three of them and patted each of their shoulders in turn. ”You are all correct, but today I want to tell you that no matter if you are in Qi Cultivation, Foundation Establishment, Purple Mansion, or Golden Core, and no matter where you are, the family’s only wish is for you to be well.

”If you ever feel confused or lost, look back—the family will always be there, ready to help you at any time!”

Ye Jingcheng took out three Spirit Beast Bags. Inside the Spirit Beast Bags were three juvenile Golden Lizards. Strictly speaking, these Golden Lizards possessed the bloodline of the Earth Dragon Demon Emperor, though it wasn’t particularly dense. Still, as long as they were nurtured well, reaching the Early Stage of Third Rank wouldn’t be a problem.

Previously, because the three of them did not hold Inner Hall status, they naturally couldn’t exchange for these beasts. But now, they were laid right in front of them. They knew very well that the three of them were joining other sects, yet the family was still willing to give them such highly talented Demon Beasts. Overcome with emotion, they were deeply moved.

”Eleventh Uncle, this...” Ye Yunchang hesitated, hardly daring to believe it.

”Nurture them well, and don’t weaken the reputation of our Beast Taming Clan,” Ye Jingcheng said, patting the three of them as he looked at the hope shining in their eyes. In truth, none of the three were young anymore, but to Ye Jingcheng, they were still just children who were only beginning to understand the world.

As Ye Jingcheng prepared to lead them away, he saw the three of them solemnly offer three sticks of Spirit Fragrance before the Ancestral Hall. Once they finished, Ye Jingcheng couldn’t help but reveal a look of approval. The four of them then went to Fairy Linghong’s traveling palace together, before bringing her along as they headed straight for Medicine King Valley.

Initially, Fairy Linghong was puzzled, but when Ye Jingcheng mentioned that he had acquired the Cyan Blood Mirror, she instantly understood his urgency. After all, this involved the Penglai Sect.

Naturally, she was also filled with curiosity. True Monarch Chi Xue was at the Middle Stage of Nascent Soul—even an ordinary Late Stage Nascent Soul Cultivator wouldn’t dare claim a guaranteed victory over him. Ye Jingcheng was merely at the Early Stage of Nascent Soul. How on earth could he have taken the Cyan Blood Mirror from True Monarch Chi Xue’s hands? Furthermore, she hadn’t sensed any massive Magical Combat fluctuations in the Yanhui Commandery!

However, since Ye Jingcheng did not elaborate, Fairy Linghong didn’t pry any further.

Some time later.

The group flew from the Divine Medicine Valley’s Teleportation Array all the way to Medicine King Mountain. At the foot of the mountain, True Monarch Qingchen was already waiting for them.

”Ye Daoist, I’ve been in Seclusion these past few days and just emerged,” True Monarch Qingchen said, cupping his hands with a slightly apologetic tone. After glancing at the clansmen standing behind Ye Jingcheng, he waved his hand, signaling the Golden Core Cultivator behind him to make arrangements for the Ye Family members.

”It’s fine. It was a sudden situation anyway, so having Fairy Linghong receive us was enough,” Ye Jingcheng said, shaking his head dismissively. Cultivators spent the vast majority of their time in Seclusion. If they were truly able to respond to everything instantly, that would be truly abnormal.

”Let’s talk inside,” True Monarch Qingchen said with a faint smile, not elaborating further.

In his heart, however, he held an exceptionally high regard for Ye Jingcheng. This genius youngster, who had broken through to the Nascent Soul realm at around two hundred years old, exhibited not a hint of arrogance and remained perfectly respectful. A person like this was bound to achieve terrifying heights in the future.

It was just a pity that he was born in the wrong place. True Monarch Qingchen thought of the Penglai Sect, then of the Jinguang Temple, and finally of the legendary Central Domain. He couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret, thinking that if he were in the Central Domain, Ye Daoist’s chances of breaking through to Divinity Transformation would truly be quite high.

Upon entering the Inner Hall, they found True Monarch Bailian there as well. He was holding a Jade Talisman, seemingly pondering over some matter, or perhaps contemplating a cultivation technique. Since True Monarch Bai Yao was in Seclusion attempting to break through to Divinity Transformation, True Monarch Bailian was currently the only Great Cultivator left in Medicine King Valley, so he naturally couldn’t go into Seclusion himself.

Seeing Ye Jingcheng enter, he looked somewhat surprised.

”Daoist Bailian, I have a matter to report,” Ye Jingcheng said, taking out the Cyan Blood Mirror and recounting everything that had happened within the Celestial Desolate Secret Realm. Naturally, he deliberately omitted any details regarding the Ye Family’s combat power.

True Monarch Bailian took the Cyan Blood Mirror and began to inspect it. After examining it thoroughly, True Monarch Bailian frowned in deep thought and asked, ”No one from your Ye Family dripped their Essence Blood onto this, did they? Or the Essence Blood of any Spirit Beasts...”
