Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Before the Spirit Mountain, a Spiritual Ship slowly descended once more.

Three figures appeared on the ship. It was none other than Ye Jingyu and his two companions, all wearing the Ye Family’s Daoist Robes.

”Could it be that my senses were wrong?” Ye Jingyu asked, his expression filled with doubt. He then took out two Spirit Rats to probe further. The Celestial Treasure Rat continued to squeak frantically at the Spirit Mountain, while the Jade Ring Rat kept twitching its ears.

”There shouldn’t be anyone here. If someone had seen us leave so suddenly earlier, they would have exposed themselves by now,” Ye Jingfeng chimed in from the side. As he spoke, he took out the Attached Purple Sandalwood Smoke and released it toward the Spirit Array. Unfortunately, the Sandalwood Smoke couldn’t penetrate the Array on the mountain. It could only act as a veil of fog, enveloping the entire Spirit Mountain and the whole Array.

”I’ll set up an Array. We will break this Array with another Array,” Ye Jingyu said, beginning to take out Array Discs and Array Banners.

However, what was different was that the Array Disc Ye Jingyu brought out looked exactly like a chessboard, populated with over a dozen black and white pieces each. This Array Disc was one of the Ye Family’s spoils from the Earth Immortal Realm—the guardian Grand Array of the Chess Heaven Pavilion’s Treasure Tower, the Chess and Puppet Two Principles Array. Of course, this Array was different from the inheritance found in the Chess Heaven Pavilion’s Secret Realm, which boasted a full eighty-one Spirit Puppets. This was a weakened version, containing only twenty Chess Puppet Stones. Nevertheless, these Chess Puppet Stones were all harvested from the Earth Immortal Realm by the Ye Family. Each one possessed power equivalent to a Tier Four Spiritual Treasure. While it couldn’t fend off a Nascent Soul Cultivator like the complete Chess and Puppet Two Principles Array could, it had no problem withstanding the attacks of over a dozen Early Stage of Golden Core cultivators. This was also what Ye Xuefan had passed down to Ye Jingyu when they were in the Eastern Domain.

At the same time, apart from the Chess Puppet Array, Ye Jingyu released a massive number of Array Banners. These Array Banners were much more ordinary, mostly belonging to common Breaking Arrays. Their only defining traits were their sheer quantity and the massive Array Spiritual Light they produced, which was large enough to cover the entire Spirit Mountain and highly misleading.

Beneath the Spirit Mountain, inside the pool.

Seeing the Ye Family’s Spiritual Ship return the way it came, with the same three people still on board, Master Golden Armor and the others felt incredibly relaxed. Master Dayan, in particular, suddenly felt a bit awkward. After all, he had previously doubted Master Golden Armor. It was clearly just the Ye Family’s clansmen being cunning; seeing that this was the best Spirit Mountain around, they were merely testing the waters.

”It seems there’s no need to display the Gold Condensing Fruit anymore. It’s just a pity that there are only three of them,” Master Golden Armor said, unable to hide a look of regret. In his eyes, three people wouldn’t amount to much merit, and with so many of them having to share it, it would be even less sufficient. But at this moment, there was nothing he could do. After all, they could only wait for their prey to fall into the trap.

”It seems the Ye Family can’t avoid being petty, either. Even if they only have a handful of Golden Core and Purple Mansion cultivators available for the search, they still want to hoard the resources for themselves.” Master Golden Armor revealed a look of disdain. Everyone hyped up the Ye Family so much, but looking at them now, they were nothing special. The others nodded in agreement. This way, they only had to wait for the Array to shatter before they could close the net.

However, after waiting for a while, there were still no signs of the Array breaking. This made Master Golden Armor grow suspicious.

”Something’s wrong. Charge out directly, we can’t wait any longer!” Seeing that the Array was taking too long to break and that all the sensory methods they had left behind were destroyed, Master Golden Armor yelled. He had even sent out his Divine Sense just a moment ago, only to realize he couldn’t detect any information at all. This could only mean one thing: the enemy was beating them at their own game and had begun to counter-encircle them. If his guess was right, there were likely many people lying in wait outside by now, along with several Arrays already set up.

Almost at the exact moment he roared, the Blood Pool trembled, and over thirty Blood Corpses flew out instantly. Simultaneously, Master Golden Armor led Master Dayan and the other five True Masters as they flew out together. The Spirit Pool was the first to ripple. Under the effects of a Secret Technique, the Spirit Pool instantly transformed into a Blood Pool. A layer of blood light surged outward, shattering several Concealment Arrays. This finally revealed the figures of the Ye Family Cultivators.

However, while there were indeed three Ye Family Cultivators, five more Spiritual Ships and over thirty other cultivators had appeared alongside them. Among them were a full nine Golden Core cultivators—two more than their own side. This scene naturally shocked everyone from the Celestial Corpse Sect, especially Master Dayan, who was already contemplating fleeing. The information regarding this Celestial Desolate Secret Realm had been provided by his Qinghe Sect, and since he was currently on his own, he was in the most danger.

”As expected of the Ye Family. This bait-and-switch trick of yours is truly played to perfection!” Master Golden Armor shouted, furious yet begrudgingly impressed. ”I just wonder if it was that Spirit Treasure that detected us, or some other Magical Treasure,” he added, trying to probe for information.

But Ye Jingyu’s expression management was among the best in the Ye Family. How could he possibly let anything slip? Ye Jingyu didn’t answer; he simply focused on setting up his Arrays. In his eyes, a single Array wasn’t secure enough. Since they were the ones doing the surrounding now, he naturally had no fear.

Aside from Ye Jingyu, the rest of the cultivators were also preparing their own methods. Gu Yulai of the Gu Family had already taken out his Spirit Puppet and the Tier Four Golden-Backed Silver-Winged Mantis Demon King. He also brought out an Array Disc of his own. As for the five Golden Core cultivators from the Tian Dao Sect, one of them took out the Five Elements Red Origin Banner, conjuring five Red Spirits. The other four all summoned their Sinking Blade Bottles. The Sinking Blade Bottles shared a similar concept with the Ye Family’s Sword Nurturing Bottles. Among them, the one with the largest Sinking Blade Bottle wasn’t Master Mo Dao, but Master Ye Feng, who was at the Middle Stage of Golden Core. His Sinking Blade Bottle was shaped like a gourd, and what shot out of it was shockingly a Magical Treasure resembling a Giant Horse-slaying Saber.

Of course, at this moment, Ye Jingyu’s side also frowned deeply. After all, the enemy’s Blood Corpses had clearly been building up their power for a long time. Surprisingly, there were a full seven of them emitting Tier Four auras, fifteen at the Tier Three Peak, and the rest were all at the Late Stage of Third Tier. This sheer number alone made the Xuan Family’s Golden Core cultivator, Xuan Cheng, feel a tingling numbness in his scalp. On the other hand, Xiao Yuntian of the Xiao Family and Gu Yulai of the Gu Family didn’t show the slightest hint of fear. They truly had never seen the Ye Family get the short end of the stick before.

RUMBLE!

ROAR!

The frenzied Blood Corpses were indeed exceptionally formidable. They were coated in a layer of blood light, which meant that these Blood Corpses—who would normally fear fire and thunder—now had absolutely no fear when facing some of the Fire Talismans and Thunder Talismans thrown at them. Some even devoured the Spirit Talismans entirely.

”Go!” Ye Jingyu activated the Array Banners. Instantly, a massive chessboard began to materialize, expanding and spreading until it finally engulfed all the Blood Corpses, along with the entire Spirit Mountain. The speed of the Blood Corpses on the chessboard drastically decreased. Moreover, the Chess Puppet Stones on the board instantly transformed into individual Chess Puppets. Astonishingly, the strength of these Chess Puppets was not the slightest bit weaker than that of the Blood Corpses.

”Combining Arrays and Puppets... the person who created this Grand Array must be a genius!” Several members of the Gu Family nearby couldn’t help but sigh in admiration. At the same time, their reverence for the Ye Family grew by several degrees. The Beast Taming abilities, Demon Kings, and this mysterious Array that the Ye Family had displayed so far all left them utterly shocked.

”You think an Array can compare to Blood Corpses?” Master Golden Armor sneered dismissively. He waved a hand at the Blood Pool, and instantly, a sky-blotting torrent of bloody water poured down. The moment this bloody water touched the Array Spiritual Shield, the shield began to melt away like ice and snow. Even the Chessboard Array became somewhat unstable. Furthermore, Master Golden Armor brought out five Golden Spirit Coffins, which housed his core assets: five Late Stage of Fourth Tier Spirit Puppets.

While Master Golden Armor unleashed all his methods, the other True Masters of the Celestial Corpse Sect followed suit. Some wielded Blood Banners, while others similarly summoned Blood Corpses. Master Dayan also took out a Magical Treasure Spirit Fan and began fanning it continuously. He clearly hoped the Treasure Light would pierce through the enemy’s Array, turning their disadvantage into a victory. However, an even fiercer Gang Wind blew out in response, sweeping the blood light right back toward their own side instead.
