Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Earth Shadow Peak, Sword Hall and Sword Valley.

Due to the Ye Family obtaining the Sword Ladder from the Central Domain, they specifically built the Sword Hall and Sword Valley. Ye Xuecang is still the Hall Master of the Sword Hall, and Ye Haisheng still holds the title of Vice Hall Master.

Inside the Sword Valley, there are a total of thirty-six sword ladders.

There are also several sword towers.

Inside the sword towers are sword puppets that the Ye Family has specially researched to aid sword cultivators in their cultivation.

On the thirty-six sword ladders, not only are there cultivation techniques for sword cultivators, but also the sword intent imposed here by Ye Xuecang.

Therefore, reaching the top of the sword ladder is almost the goal of all the Ye Family Sword Hall clan members.

Today, many Sword Hall clan members have laid down their swords and gathered before the sword ladder.

Due to the array, the crowd cannot see the inheritance on the sword ladder, but they can see two people standing, facing each other, on the thirtieth level of the sword ladder.

One is young and handsome, just over twenty years old, none other than Ye Zhijian, the first genius of the Zhi Generation, at the early stage of Foundation Establishment. The other is a clan member in his forties from the Teng Generation, Ye Teng Chuan, an obscure name known to only a few.

Moreover, upon seeing this person, the crowd was somewhat surprised.

This person is actually a Five Spirit Root Cultivator from the Ye Family, having reached Qi Cultivation Seventh Layer at over forty years of age, finding it difficult to break through Foundation Establishment.

However, both are standing on the thirtieth level, and the crowd can see that from such a distance, they both exude a sharp aura.

”Both have attained Sword Intent!” one observing clan member remarked.

”Both are geniuses. Zhijian’s talent is indisputable, being a Celestial Spirit Root. But is this Ye Teng Chuan, despite being a Five Spirit Root, really possessing such exceptional talent in Sword Dao? I wonder if he has the chance to join the Inner Hall against the odds!”

...

As the crowd exchanged comments, another Vice Hall Master of the Sword Hall, Ye Xingyuan, joined the throng.

The other clan members of the Sword Hall promptly fell silent.

And on the sword ladder, the two continued their ascent.

The sword intent on the sword ladder was personally arranged by Ye Xuecang. The higher you go, the stronger the sword intent. Towards the end, even if one is in the late stage of Foundation Establishment, without understanding of Sword Dao, they may not necessarily reach the top, thus moving many present.

Including Vice Hall Master Ye Xingyuan, who couldn’t help but smile.

He had actually seen through it; Ye Zhijian was assisting Ye Teng Chuan, intending to bolster Teng Chuan’s reputation and help him gain entry into the Ye Family Inner Hall.

Although the Ye Family has many cultivators, there are limited annual spots for the Inner Hall.

This is partly due to the pressure of the Beast Communication Tower’s Beast Souls and also for confidentiality. For a Five Spirit Root Cultivator like Ye Teng Chuan, who lacks talent in alchemy, artifact refining, and spirit plants, it’s naturally hard to even qualify for Inner Hall trials.

However, if his Sword Dao talent is good, he can certainly qualify for the Inner Hall.

Unbeknownst to Ye Teng Chuan, the Elders and qualified voting clan members of the Inner Hall had long been paying attention to him, they just hadn’t informed him.

With today’s event, as long as Ye Teng Chuan shows no other issues, joining the Inner Hall and awakening the Beast Communication Pattern shouldn’t be a problem.

With the Ye Family’s supply of spirit pills, the Foundation Establishment issue is also not significant.

As for the future, it depends on how Ye Teng Chuan’s Beast Communication Pattern and Sword Dao talent develop.

On the other hand, Ye Zhijian was even more satisfactory; twenty-three years old, early stage of Foundation Establishment, his sword intent was lucid, and he was already condensing his Lifebound Sword Embryo.

Although the Sword Embryo of a Foundation Establishment cultivator doesn’t have great power, if paired with solid sword intent, even those in the late stage of Foundation Establishment must be cautious.

”Golden Lotus Sword Intent, similar to Uncle Haisheng’s sword intent phenomenon,” Vice Hall Master Ye Xingyuan murmured softly.

”Unfortunately, one is gold, the other is water.”

”They’ve reached the top!” At this moment, a clan member called out.

On the sword ladder, indeed, the two had reached the final step.

Once at the final step, Ye Zhijian began to study the Sword Dao techniques and insights engraved above.

This sword scripture is called the Geng Metal Sword Manual, including the method of the Great Geng Sword Array that had Ye Zhijian utterly captivated.

He momentarily forgot about Ye Teng Chuan beside him.

At this moment, Ye Teng Chuan didn’t harbor resentment; he knew he had reached the top because Ye Zhijian blocked most of the sword intent for him, allowing his ascent.

Though the sword manual and sword scripture weren’t what he desired, rendering him unable to focus, he could still slightly evade and hone his own sword intent.

But the sword intent here was too strong, his cultivation too weak, and after persisting for just a quarter of an hour, he already appeared unsteady.

His Daoist robe bore numerous sword marks as well.

Unwilling to disturb Ye Zhijian, Ye Teng Chuan retreated alone down the sword ladder, but shortly after, the sword light inflicted severe injuries on him.

Just as he thought he might perish in the Way of the Sword, Vice Hall Master Ye Xingyuan appeared, catching him.

”Ancestor Xingyuan.” Ye Teng Chuan offered a salute.

”Be more prudent next time and come down earlier; reaching the top, the family has already noticed!” Ye Xingyuan instructed.

Ye Teng Chuan was filled with shame, but fortunately, Ye Xingyuan spoke through transmission so others remained unaware, still regarding him with admiration.

...

Time passed quickly; after more than half a day, Ye Zhijian finally awoke.

He looked around for Ye Teng Chuan but found no sign of him.

Only Vice Hall Master Ye Xingyuan was watching him.

”Ancestor Xingyuan, where’s Uncle Teng Chuan?”

”He sustained some injuries and has gone back to recuperate,” Ye Xingyuan nodded in response.

Ye Zhijian heard this and immediately guessed that the matter between him and Ye Teng Chuan had been seen through, so he lowered his head.

However, the anticipated blame did not appear, causing Ye Zhijian to raise his head and observe. He noticed that Ye Xingyuan did not show any sign of anger before tentatively asking.

”Xingyuan Ancestor, I want to shift my focus to this cultivation technique!”

”You can decide for yourself; now that you have sword intent, you can go to Beast Valley to seek a spirit beast,” Ye Xingyuan said.

Ye Zhijian’s beast communication happened six years ago, with two five-inch beast patterns and one three-inch beast pattern, which was not considered particularly lavish.

But considering Ye Zhijian reached Foundation Establishment at twenty-one and comprehended sword intent at twenty-one, these two combined were rather terrifying.

Ye Zhijian was not particularly suitable for nurturing spirit beasts, and the future direction for the Ye Family required Ye Zhijian to inherit more spirit beasts and allow them to lead his cultivation.

”Thank you, Xingyuan Ancestor.” Ye Zhijian nodded repeatedly.

He then headed toward Beast Valley. Unfamiliar with Beast Valley, Ye Zhijian inadvertently arrived at a lakeside.

This lake was unusually large, though there weren’t many fish within it.

”Zhijian, why are you here!” At that moment, a female cultivator walked over.

Ye Zhijian recognized this female cultivator; she was someone he studied with in the Clan Study Hall, although Ye Yunyu was a descendant of the Qing Generation, so he had to call her Granny.

”Granny Yunyu, I came to the family’s Beast Valley to acquire a spirit beast, but I don’t know where Elephant Valley is,” Ye Zhijian said somewhat awkwardly.

He was a celestial spirit root with the gold attribute, and among the Ye Family’s beast valleys, Elephant Valley was the most famous for gold attributes; the mammoths there were all gold attribute spirit beasts.

”It’s over there; this is the Chenjing Lake where the family’s Chenjing Great Demon resides. The Chenjing Whale Ancestor can be quite fierce!” Ye Yunyu whispered through transmission.

Chenjing was Ye Haisheng’s spirit beast, and after Ye Haisheng’s sacrifice, Chenjing fell to the Sea Generation.

”To this day, no one has managed to meet eye to eye with the Whale Ancestor.” Ye Yunyu recalled that even the Purple Mansion Ancestor had been rejected three years ago.

Just as Ye Zhijian was about to leave, a long cry suddenly emerged from the lake.

The water surged upwards, and a Chenjing Whale emerged, repeatedly crying towards Ye Zhijian.

At this moment, both felt that the Whale Ancestor before them was not a centuries-old spirit beast but a young beast instead.

Ye Zhijian felt inexplicably discomforted.

At that time, numerous cultivators also arrived, including two elders from the Jing Generation who were somewhat uncertain.

Upon communicating with Chenjing, they discovered that it had found an affinity with a kin possessing the gold attribute.

Yet, Chenjing was a water attribute spirit beast...

”Granny Yunyu, the Whale Ancestor seems to want to become my spirit beast.” Even Ye Zhijian was puzzled, not to mention others.

He was only in the Early Stage of Foundation Establishment, choosing a spirit beast typically involved a tier two spirit beast, or a tier two spirit beast with talent.

However, the Whale Ancestor before him was at the peak of tier three.

Near to tier four.

At this time, Ye Haicheng flew over, understanding the circumstances before he took a few more glances at Ye Zhijian.

He harbored a bold speculation that was impossible to verify.

”As a member of the Ye Family, the family entrusts you with a more important task, which is to cultivate the Chenjing into a tier four demon king, or even beyond. Are you willing?” Ye Haicheng’s question left others stunned.

After some hesitation, Ye Zhijian nodded:

”I’m willing!” Ye Zhijian did not understand why, but upon hearing the whale’s cry, he felt deeply moved inside.

What surprised Ye Haicheng was that at this moment, the Chenjing requested the family to send more spirit jade.

It wanted to use whale essence to create Jingyu.

Though the effect of Chenjing Jade rendered by a Demon Emperor was absent, it was somewhat effective for Foundation Establishment Purple Mansion.

Previously, Chenjing was reluctant to do so, but it had volunteered today.

This naturally brought joy to Ye Haicheng.

...

Time silently slipped away, and two years passed.

Today, during the spring plowing season, the rainfall at Celestial Phoenix Oasis was exceptionally abundant. It was known that in previous years, the Ye Family had used magic to facilitate it, yet this year, magic was scarcely employed.

”Why are the dark clouds growing heavier and more oppressive?” The cultivator overseeing spirit plants watched the sky, puzzled.

Only those who had witnessed thunder tribulation excitedly spoke up.

”Another family elder is breaking through!”

The appearance of thunder tribulation naturally meant that a Purple Mansion cultivator was breaking through to Golden Core.

”No wonder the rainfall is so abundant; it’s Granny Yunxi breaking through.”

Others exclaimed in surprise.

Amid the shock of the crowd, numerous cultivators fell before the Spirit Mountain.

Ye Haicheng, Ye Xueliang, and Chu Yanqing rushed over immediately.

”Yunxi is finally breaking through!” Chu Yanqing rejoiced.

Ye Yunxi’s focus within the Ye Family was notable; possessing a water spirit root and high-throughput beast pattern, she had reached the Purple Mansion early.

”Now it’s just Jing Hu left!” Ye Haicheng chuckled from the side.
