Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

”Everyone, let’s vote!” In the room of the grand hall, Ye Xuecang activated the array to its fullest before he spoke.

Unlike other matters, which can be relaxed or delayed, the Beast Communication Pattern is the greatest affair for the Ye Family.

Even a core family member like Chu Yanqing cannot be informed of this matter.

Naturally, it requires the strictest secrecy and handling.

Of course, voting is quite simple; everyone can cast a negative or positive vote for each family member.

At the same time, each cultivator must cast at least two negative votes.

Only with the agreement of more than fifty percent of the cultivators can one proceed to the final loyalty test of the Beast Communication Pattern.

In everyone’s hands, there is also a jade talisman, within which the assessment tasks of each family member are detailed, along with their performance since entering the Spirit Mountain.

It even includes detailed records of their performance in clan studies.

The Ye Family’s clan studies are much stricter than average families, including daily cultivation, cultivation of a sense of belonging to the family, and remembering the deeds of some heroic family elders.

Even in the clan study assessments, illusion skill tests are interwoven, mostly regarding the family member’s performance during crises faced by the Ye Family, or when critical choices involving treasures or family must be made.

These illusion arrays usually portray the growth of the family member within the family and have no other effects, and even non-bloodline family members can participate.

Only in the Beast Communication Pattern tests and Inner Hall assessments do they take on significant weight.

Moreover, this only truly guarantees the cultivator’s original intentions.

Ye Xuecang also held a jade talisman.

He often stayed in the Cyan Cloud Sea Domain, hence he knew some matters, though not in detail.

He focused his gaze on the section within the jade talisman belonging to Ye Qingnian and Ye Qingfeng. Although both are only eighteen years old, one is already at the Qi Cultivation Ninth Layer and the other at the peak of the Qi Cultivation Eighth Layer, with the former preparing for a breakthrough to Foundation Establishment.

Additionally, the Inner Hall assessment tasks for both involved double assessments of illusion skills and training evaluations.

Their performance could be considered commendable.

Soon, everyone finished voting.

Ye Xueliang handed the result-filled jade talisman to Ye Xuecang, while the rest were all crushed on the spot.

”You go ahead and announce it!” Ye Xuecang glanced at Ye Xueliang, speaking with a hint of deeper meaning.

Ye Xueliang paused, then nodded after glancing at Ye Xuecang.

He began announcing the list one by one.

”Qingfeng passes, unanimously!”

”Qingnian passes, unanimously!”

”Yun Xuan passes, unanimously!”

”Xingyuan passes, with eighty percent in favor.”

...

Out of fifteen people, twelve finally passed the vote.

Among them, Qingfeng and two others were unanimously selected.

The three are the most famous talents of the Ye Family in recent years, all under twenty years old.

But their cultivation has already reached beyond the Qi Cultivation Eighth Layer, with Ye Qingfeng reaching the Qi Cultivation Ninth Layer.

And this is without the support of the Beast Communication.

If they had Beast Communication support, their cultivation speed would be even faster.

It might break the Ye Family’s record for breakthrough to Foundation Establishment once again.

”It’s a pity for Qing Xuan and Jing Shen Qing Hu!” Ye Xingyu remarked upon seeing the results.

He knew that both of them had already been assessed twice, and it had been a decade since their initial assessment.

Especially Jing Shen, whose talent wasn’t great, having a slim chance of breaking through to Foundation Establishment only with beast communication. Without it, the chance is negligible.

”There’s no need to pity them; it’s not child’s play!”

”You can pass if you can pass. The requirement of fifty percent approval is already low; in a few decades, the threshold will need to be raised!” Ye Xuecang stated, furrowing his brows.

His words immediately made Ye Xingyu bow his head repeatedly, transforming his regret into solemnity.

In the entire Ye Family, the person with the most authority is naturally Ye Xuecang.

His face always carries a strict expression of a stern father, rarely smiling, and even many from the Sea Generation bow their heads in fear upon seeing him, reflecting his authority.

Not to mention him being from the Xing Generation.

”Xueliang, Xingyu, arrange for those who passed to go to the Celestial Shadow Peak!” Ye Xuecang ordered.

”As for the others, get back to your work, and remember to put effort into cultivation as well!”

Hearing this, the others nodded and dispersed.

Once everyone left, only Ye Xueliang remained.

”Second brother!” Ye Xueliang spoke.

”There’s no need to grieve for Xue Jing; she did nothing wrong, nor did we. Each one of our Ye Family members carries a monumental mission!” As Ye Xuecang spoke, Ye Xueliang was taken aback before lowering his head.

”Assigning you to act on Haicheng’s behalf was to see the energy of these young family members. A Purple Mansion Cultivator can enjoy a five-hundred-year lifespan; both you and I are young, and the Great Path is still ahead, so why worry?”

”You’re the most gifted Insect Cultivator of the Xue Generation!” After speaking, Ye Xuecang refrained from saying more, heading straight for the summit of Celestial Shadow Peak.

The subsequent family arrangement, the Soul-Devouring Insect was to be nurtured for Ye Xueliang, but Ye Xueliang self-claimed his potential was insufficient and refused it.

...

Soon, Ye Xuecang arrived at a cave manor.

This cave manor isn’t just any other; it belongs to the Ancestor Turtle Taicang.

In the shadows, cultivators are secretly guarding this place.

The Tai Cang Turtle is in the midst of a breakthrough, its grotto heaven is open, and the entrance lies within this cave manor.

As Ye Xuecang passed by, he felt the Turtle Taicang’s aura, realizing it had surpassed the Tier Three Peak.

It was advancing towards Tier Four.

Seeing this, Ye Xuecang felt a bit relieved.

He had some affection for the Tai Cang Turtle, although it was quite a mischievous young turtle.

Breaking through to Tier Four, it might mature a bit, allowing him to feel more reassured.

Withdrawing a spirit talisman, Ye Xuecang dispersed the array, revealing a gigantic turtle shell in the distance, with a cavernous entrance appearing within it.

Ye Xuecang skillfully entered the grotto heaven, heading towards Ye Shen Valley in the distance.

Soon, he reached the front of a valley, where the Tier Four Spiritual Medicine within grew increasingly lush.

”Second Ancestor!”

Before Ye Shen Valley, a Ye Family member was guarding here.

”I’m here to retrieve the Beast Communication Tower!” Ye Xuecang extended his hand, showing the Beast Communication Pattern, comprising two five-inch and two three-inch patterns.

It was evident that he was just a bit away from reaching a seven-inch Beast Communication Pattern.

Seeing the Beast Communication Pattern, the vigilance in the clansman’s eyes dissipated, stepping aside to unlock the array of Ye Shen Valley, revealing a gray-black ancient and imposing black tower.

Ye Xuecang took a glance, then put away the Beast Communication Tower.

Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly thought of something and proceeded to the depths of Ye Shen Valley, finally stopping in front of a huge Blood Stone.

The Blood Stone visibly bore the three characters of Ye Shen Valley.

To ordinary people, this Blood Stone was just a regular engraved stone.

Ye Xuecang, however, was extremely cautious and began to activate his True Essence.

Directing it towards the Blood Stone, but soon he sighed.

”Indeed, it requires a Nascent Soul!” Ye Xuecang had only intended to give it a try.

Seeing it was not possible, he glanced around before leaving Ye Shen Valley, and then exited the Grotto Heaven.

He arrived at the ancestral hall atop Celestial Shadow Peak.

Unlike the ancestral hall in the past, which had imitation Spiritual Tokens, this ancestral hall was filled with authentic Ye Family Spiritual Tokens.

Among them were those who passed away from old age like Ye Haiyun, Ye Haitian, and Ye Haiyi, and those who died silently for the Ye Family like Ye Xuejing and other Hidden Peak Race People.

Ye Xuecang glanced, eyes filled with reluctance.

Despite being a Middle Stage Golden Core expert, having weathered centuries, at this moment, seeing the densely arranged Spiritual Tokens still stirred countless emotions in his heart.

After a while, he poured Tier Four Longevity Tea, offering a salute at each post.

No matter if these clansmen’s seniority was higher than his, respect for the deceased was paramount.

Once the round was completed, Ye Xuecang halted at Ye Shengyi’s spiritual position.

”Father, the prosperous Ye Family in your eyes, I have glimpsed its silhouette; sooner or later, I shall see the Merak Ye Family with my own eyes!” Ye Xuecang said little, merely offering the Longevity Tea and then a cup of Tier Four Spirit Wine.

Subsequently, he walked out of the ancestral hall, setting up a gigantic fire furnace before it.

He placed a full furnace of sandalwood in, and as it burned, a Smoke Dragon soared into the sky!

Streaming towards the clear firmament!

...

Before the mountain path, Ye Xueliang and Ye Xingyu had already gathered all the Communication Beast Clan.

At this moment, everyone was extremely tense.

They only knew there was an even more mysterious test within the Ye clan.

What exactly was tested, they were unclear.

What one could gain by passing the test, they were also unclear.

But this did not hinder their longing for the test.

”Xingyuan, your seniority is the highest, you go ahead, do not disappoint your father!” Ye Xueliang spoke.

Ye Xingyuan nodded, and soon, he arrived at the fire furnace.

Ye Xuecang instructed Ye Xingyuan to sit down, though the latter was still somewhat wary.

Under the dual soul-capture of sandalwood smoke and the Family Head Order of the Ye Family, he quickly fell into the Illusion Realm.

The result was also favorable, Ye Xingyuan had no issues.

After some explanation, Ye Xuecang led him into the Beast Communication Tower.

After a round of communication with the beast, Ye Xingyuan looked curiously at his three-inch-long Beast Communication Pattern.

Only after Ye Xuecang explained did he suddenly understand.

And was immensely pleased.

To him, the welfare of the Ye Family was considered good among all Golden Core clans, yet he had not expected there to be Beast Communication Patterns.

”The clan has already set a Soul Ban on you, and furthermore, this is the highest secret of the clan; you must not speak of it to any outsider, including kin without Beast Communication Patterns!” Ye Xuecang warned him again.

Following this, a few others also passed the test, but all had Beast Communication Patterns of roughly three inches, with one person even possessing only two one-inch Beast Communication Patterns.

Finally, Ye Xuecang saw Ye Qingfeng approaching.

Currently, Ye Qingfeng was dressed in a robe, hair tied at the back into a ponytail, bringing a refreshing air.

Her features were as delicate as Chu Yanqing’s, but her eyes were exactly like Ye Jingcheng’s.

”Second Great Ancestor!” Upon seeing Ye Xuecang, Ye Qingfeng was exceedingly respectful.

”Not bad, worthy of being the most talented of the Ye Family!” Ye Xuecang nodded, then stroked his beard with a rare, slight smile.

”Indeed, Yanqing has raised a pair of good children.”

This time, presiding over the beast communication was naturally Ye Xuecang’s curiosity about Ye Qingfeng and Ye Qingnian’s Beast Communication Patterns.

Otherwise, under normal circumstances, it was the Patriarch or Patriarch Dai who presided.

”Sit down, next the ancestor will impart a technique!” Ye Xuecang added.

Ye Qingfeng nodded and quickly began the final test, which passed quickly.

This was not Ye Xuecang taking it easy, but rather the excellent teaching of Ye Qingfeng and Ye Qingnian.

Regarding family honor, she was strong.

Such Illusion Realms were simply insignificant.

”Next relates to the Ye Family’s greatest secret, the Beast Communication Pattern. Remember, try to retain all Soul Power and strive to convert it to your own...” Ye Xuecang explained.

Ye Qingfeng was somewhat puzzled and wanted to inquire further, but found Ye Xuecang had already entered the ancestral hall.

She then followed his silhouette into the ancestral hall.

Yet upon entering, the surrounding space began to change, transforming into a huge black tower.

Surrounding the giant tower were various lifelike Spirit Beast statues.

She saw flying birds, saw the Red Fox, saw the Black Crow...

Saw various Spirit Beasts, thousands, roaring endlessly!

Memories of Spirit Beasts surged in her mind.

But before she could call out their names, all the Beast Shadows seemed alive, rushing towards her.

Their ferocious appearance made her face change dramatically; she wanted to struggle but found herself unable to move, with even magic unable to be used, forced to watch as countless Beast Shadows rushed into her body.

A strong pain flooded her body.

Chirp!

A long cry fell on her ears, Ye Qingfeng only felt she saw a Phoenix Shadow, dispersing all the Beast Shadows, carrying her aloft to roam the sky!

She reached out to caress the Phoenix Shadow’s head but suddenly found everything vanished again.

She was back before the huge black tower, and a mysterious Spiritual Light began to appear on her body.

The Spiritual Light lengthened inch by inch, finally stopping at seven inches.

Ye Qingfeng still did not know what it meant, full of doubt, she examined it.

”Seven inches!” And from behind her, there was Ye Xuecang’s surprised voice.

Only then did she realize, at some point, she had returned to the ancestral hall.
