Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

The noonday sunlight was unusually scorching. Even though it was clearly spring, the blazing sun in the sky was like a Fire Furnace, roasting the whole land.

On the plaza before Celestial Shadow Peak, countless Cultivator children and Mortals had gathered.

Everyone was very solemn, and also very tense. This was the first ten-year clan assembly since the Ye Family had begun encouraging childbirth.

It concerned the Ye Family’s future policies, and also the Spirit Stones, Clan Allowance, and future status of many of them.

Of course, at this moment everyone’s gaze was fixed on the center of the plaza.

There stood a gigantic Furnace Cauldron over ten feet tall.

Inside the Furnace Cauldron were three enormous stalks of purple Cyan Sandalwood incense, like pillars, slowly burning, turning into three colossal purple Smoke Dragons that flew up into the azure firmament.

In front of the Furnace Cauldron there was also a huge high platform, on which many offerings were placed.

Among these offerings were the Flood Dragon Head of an Evil Flood Dragon from the East Sea, the skull of a Giant Whale, and the main tentacle of a colossal octopus.

Each item was as large as a giant millstone, and under the activation of Spirit Talismans, Spiritual Light blossomed forth, even carrying no small amount of Beastly Might.

Besides these, the Demon Heads of Tier Three Great Demons were lined up in a row, a full ten of them on display.

The spectacle of this alone was enough to leave one incomparably shaken.

At this moment those Cultivators from the Ye Family’s Foreign Affairs Tower were also present. Seeing this scene, they had long since been shocked speechless.

This was the Ye Family’s extravagance—Great Demons could not even make it onto the main platform.

Of course, even as they were stunned, they could not help but feel proud to be a part of the Ye Family’s Foreign Affairs Tower, and even more delighted to be able to personally witness the Ye Family’s Immortal Ascension Conference.

One had to know that apart from the Foreign Affairs Tower, even the Ye Family’s vassals in the Desert Sea could not attend the Ye Family’s clan assembly, much less come to Celestial Shadow Peak to witness the spectacle of the Ye Family’s Immortal Ascension Conference.

This naturally filled them with boundless pride.

At the center of the plaza, Ye Xuefan, as the eldest elder of the Ye Family, was at this moment reciting the sacrificial litany.

His face was covered in solemnity as he held a wine cup, though what filled the cup was not wine, but Tier Three Beast Blood.

Ye Jingcheng and Ye Haicheng stood behind Ye Xuefan.

Only when the complicated rites of sacrifice were complete did Ye Xuefan look toward Ye Haicheng:

“The auspicious hour has arrived. Begin the Immortal Ascension Conference!”

“Yes.” Ye Haicheng cupped his hands repeatedly.

He then turned around and looked at all the clan members.

The sternness in his eyes softened into kindness.

Before him stood no fewer than four hundred and fifty Mortal children—this was the largest Immortal Ascension Conference in the Ye Family’s history.

This also proved that the Ye Family’s childbirth policies were indeed effective.

“The Immortal Ascension Conference begins!” As Ye Haicheng’s voice fell, Yellow Dragons and Celestial Phoenixes in the sky roared in unison, as if True Spirits had descended into the world—an unimaginably grand sight.

At the same time, a vast Spiritual Marsh rain fell upon the land.

All the Cultivators could not help but feel their spirits stir.

Ye Xingxiao had already taken out the Ten Directions Small Seal and sent it flying toward the plaza. Very soon it transformed into ten high platforms.

The clan members that the Miscellaneous Hall had long since prepared, dressed in Ye Family Daoist Robes, ascended with solemn expressions.

They also set out the Spirit Testing Discs and Hand Washing Basins.

“Fellow Ye Family Members, today’s Immortal Ascension Conference is the grandest since our Ye Family implemented childbirth support, and it coincides with our clan’s Dragon Ancestor breaking through—his Nascent Soul already formed. Therefore, the top three Spirit Roots in this Immortal Ascension Conference will each be rewarded with one potential Spirit Beast from the Four Valleys!”

“Those ranked in the top ten in Spirit Roots may each choose one Tier Two potential Spirit Pet!”

As these words fell, those Immortal Seedlings did not yet know what they signified, but the Ye Family Members were completely stunned, and could not help but feel somewhat envious.

The Spirit Beast Cubs within the Ye Family’s Four Valleys all started from at least Tier Three potential Spirit Beasts. If given an Advancement Pill, their potential would be greatly enhanced.

Although the Ye Family now possessed quite a few Spirit Beasts, because there were too many clan members, even obtaining a Tier Two Spirit Beast Cub was not easy.

Unless they could, after the Inner Hall examinations, prove they possessed sufficiently good Beast Communication Patterns.

“Besides that, among the Mortal Town chiefs, the top ten who cultivate the most Immortal Seedlings will, in addition to the previous rewards, also receive extra Blood Nurturing Pills!”

“These Blood Nurturing Pills are likewise Immortal Spiritual Pills, possessing the effects of locking in blood and bolstering yang vigor!”

As these words sounded, the bodies of those Mortal town chiefs quivered slightly.

The Ye Family’s Immortal Ascension Conference was held once every three years; naturally they were familiar with the reward policies.

The town chief of the town that produced the most Immortal Seedlings could receive Immortal Family rewards and commendations.

Now the rewards had increased again, and there was even the new Blood Nurturing Pill—perhaps these old town chiefs could all “remain robust in their later years”. How could they not be excited?

Especially those town chiefs whose towns had produced four or five Immortal Seedlings—at this moment they were all the more expectant.

As for those town chiefs with no Immortal Seedlings, they felt somewhat ashamed.

The towns of the Desert Sea were different from those of the Yan Kingdom. In places with good Oases, a single town might have tens of thousands of people, while in poorer places a town might have only one or two thousand.

Nowadays, most town chiefs were Mortals from the Ye Family, with a few being local Mortals of the Desert Sea with whom they had cooperated originally.

Of course, these Mortals had also taken Ye Family Mortals as wives, counting as half-son-in-laws.

On the Spirit Platform, testing soon began.

Ten people in the first round, Spiritual Light flaring one after another.

Among the ten, there was one Dual Spirit Roots, three with Three Spirit Roots, six with Four Spirit Roots, and none with Five Spirit Roots.

Moreover, each Spiritual Light could extend three to four feet.

In terms of Spiritual Root Affinity, they were all quite outstanding.

With Dual Spirit Roots appearing in the very first round, one white-haired, elderly town chief among the Mortal Towns immediately began cheerfully boasting to the other town chiefs.

“That Xiaochu had it rough. A few years ago, his parents died in a dust storm; even having enough to eat was a problem…”

The others naturally snorted in disdain at his explanation, some even letting out cold humphs.
