Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Chapter 1024: Chapter 713: Reform Proposals

Inside the grand hall, everyone was filled with joy at this moment.

After all, the child belongs to Ye Jingcheng. Although his Spirit Root is not outstanding, most people in the Ye Family believe Ye Jingcheng to be a hidden Spirit Body.

Additionally, Chu Yanqing is also a Spirit Body.

The children born from two Spirit Body cultivators naturally wouldn’t be too far off in their eyes.

They have even begun to look forward to seeing how many inches the Beast Pattern of Ye Jingcheng’s child would be.

They are now aware that Ye Jingcheng’s Beast Pattern is seven inches plus five inches and two patterns of one inch each, making him the one with the strongest Beast Pattern talent in the Ye Family.

It is precisely this talent that supports Ye Jingcheng’s terrifying cultivation speed and ability to contract so many Spirit Beasts.

“Jingcheng, now that you’re about to have children, it’s a good time to think about the family’s policies. Currently, including those in the Cyan Cloud Sea Domain, there are seven hundred and eighty-one people in the family’s cultivators, but there are only two hundred and ten in the Inner Hall. While this number is sufficient for a Purple Mansion Clan, it falls short for a Golden Core Clan!” Ye Haicheng also spoke appropriately.

The Ye Family has been vigorously encouraging family cultivators to start families and have more children.

But after all, cultivators are different from mortals; a few Immortal Decrees cannot easily sway them.

Moreover, for mortals, being able to give birth to a Spirit Root cultivator is considered a great honor.

Cultivators, however, are different. Many cultivators, even those with Five Spirit Roots or are Qi Cultivators, worry that having children might affect their cultivation and longevity.

How to encourage these family members with Spirit Roots is also a deep discipline.

“Grandfather, my thought is to enhance the reward policy. Firstly, since our Ye Family isn’t lacking Spirit Stones, all cultivators with detected Spirit Roots can be gifted a Tier One entry-level Spirit Beast. The family will cover the cultivation techniques, clan studies, magic, and an introduction to the Four Skills of Cultivation.”

“Up until the age of twenty, they begin the Inner Hall trials. If they have good talent, they can start the Inner Hall trials at fifteen, so every family cultivator can grow into a pillar, giving confidence to those worried their descendants cannot match others!”

“Secondly, clan allowance should be doubled. Our current system has obvious shortcomings. Clan members on Lingyun Peak rely on competitions and the Four Skills of Cultivation, and Hidden Peak relies on external resources for Spirit Stones, which is unhealthy. So increasing the clan allowance and giving an additional allowance for fertility is necessary!”

“Of course, this extra allowance doesn’t need to be much, just the normal amount for ten years. Even if a family member has ten descendants, they can use the additional allowance from their Spirit Root children to focus on nurturing one excellent offspring! If ambitious, they can use the additional allowance from ten descendants to aid their own cultivation! Our Ye Family isn’t just a Qi Cultivation or Foundation Establishment Clan, so there’s no need to count like before!”

“Of course, the extra reward allowance for descendants with Celestial Spirit Root and those with Four or Five Spirit Roots should have differences, and once family members pass the Inner Hall trials, the extra allowance should be deferred for ten years and re-evaluated. This is part of our Ye Family’s distinctive focus beyond just Spirit Roots!”

“Thirdly, regarding family members without Ye Family bloodline, besides being granted the surname, they can join the Elder Council and participate in critical family decisions. This can reference Zhang Family and Jia Family’s tattoo Spirit Shadows, preventing infiltration!”

Ye Jingcheng stated three points in succession.

He believed reward reform and fertility incentives are inseparable.

During his time on Lingyun Peak, he conducted clan allowance reforms and fertility support.

But the effects were limited, not only because the reform wasn’t strong enough but also due to Lingyun Peak’s capabilities.

Now in the Desert Sea, Ye Family’s reforms could be broad and bold.

Even though Ye Family gave away so many oases, they still have over fifty remaining, and the cultivators developing the four large oases are still insufficient.

Although Ye Family has over seven hundred people, only a little over four hundred are in the Desert Sea.

Ye Family also has over a hundred in the Cyan Cloud Sea Domain, and quite a few cultivators in Lingyun Peak Taichang Market and the caravans in Taihang Market.

Apart from these family members, Ye Family also has some people in Yanhui Commandery and Pill Desolate Secret Realm.

Among the little over four hundred in the Desert Sea, sixty or seventy are still engaging in clan studies, and these naturally can’t participate in family affairs.

This is also why Ye Family had to establish the Foreign Affairs Tower.

Ye Family is genuinely lacking in people.

It’s not a lack of resources.

“Grandfather, that’s it for now. I think we’ll need to hold a family meeting, first discuss the resources controlled by the Inner Hall, and the current finances for income to deliberate in detail!” Ye Jingcheng added after speaking.

Ye Haicheng also smiled once more upon hearing this.

Seeing Ye Haicheng’s smile made Ye Jingcheng uneasy.

“Jingcheng, do you know how I’ve discussed it with your Fifteenth Ancestor? Our suggestion is to have you continue as Patriarch!”

Ye Haicheng tentatively proposed, but Ye Jingcheng repeatedly clasped his hands.

“Grandfather, no, I can at most be an Alchemy Supreme Elder!” Ye Jingcheng immediately refused.

He currently has many pill formulas to research, and Ye Qingyan has already developed the Tier Two Vein-Protecting Pill. He mustn’t fall behind; doubling the clan’s Purple Mansion cultivators is very necessary.

Thus, he has numerous Spirit Pills to refine, combined with his own cultivation, and with two children, Ye Jingcheng flatly refused.

Witnessing this, Ye Haicheng appeared somewhat disappointed.

Currently, there aren’t many capable of being Patriarch in the Ye Family. Ye Jingyu and Ye Xingliu qualify, but both are in the Cyan Cloud Sea Domain.

Ye Jingyun is actually not bad; at least in times of absence of most of the family, he can manage emergencies.

But with insufficient resolve, and with Lingyun Peak as it is, Ye Jingyun can’t leave.

As for Ye Jing Hu, his personality is too straightforward and impulsive, while Ye Xingqun and Ye Jingfeng aren’t comprehensive enough either…

Thinking it over, Ye Haicheng could only sigh helplessly.

Seeing the other sigh, Ye Jingcheng also smiled.

“Grandfather, just based on the show you put on back then, the Nascent Soul Clan’s Patriarch should naturally be you!” Ye Jingcheng humorously remarked.

Back then, when Xu and Mo Families conspired with the five clans against the Tai Cang Turtle, Ye Haicheng intentionally used a dead turtle to trap them, extricating the Ye Family and instead gradually defeated the other clans in Taihang Commandery.

Even then, he was amidst the unknowns and contacted Ye Xingliu, intending to use the Treasure Light for aid.

Since that day, his evaluation of the family skyrocketed.

“You haven’t changed a bit, but there’s no need to decide so early. Maybe after the Eastern Domain war ends, your Third Uncle and Fourth Brother can return, so my old bones won’t be needed!” Ye Haicheng, seeing Ye Jingcheng’s reluctance, changed the topic.

He then looked back at Ye Jingcheng:

“Jingcheng, how many portions of Purple Mansion Jade Liquid have you refined? Perhaps we need to send one to Cyan Cloud Nunnery; if problems arise, our exchanges will have to rely on Cyan Cloud Nunnery in the Yan Kingdom!”

Ye Family’s Lingyun Peak is indeed fraught with danger.

Ye Family must make contingency plans; if Cyan Cloud Nunnery advances to Purple Mansion Clan, nobody will suspect a connection with Ye Family.

After all, one is a female cultivator sect, the other a male cultivator family!

This way, Ye Family could gradually shift from selling Alchemy Spirit Beasts to Cyan Cloud Nunnery’s Artifact Refining and Talisman Making business, secretly dispatching caravans and trading with Cyan Spirit Market.

Simultaneously, if anything goes wrong, Cyan Cloud Nunnery could take in Ye Family’s mortals.

“Two portions left, plus there’s a Purple Jade Fruit yet to be refined!” Ye Jingcheng nodded, taking out everything, handing one to Ye Haicheng, and the other to Ye Xueliang.

“Jingcheng, I don’t need it!” Ye Xueliang directly refused.

Even though he used life-extension Spirit Medicine back then, he’s approaching his limit now.

Even if he attempts to break through to the Purple Mansion, he won’t waste the family’s Purple Mansion Jade Liquid.

“Fifteenth Ancestor, there are really too few Purple Mansion cultivators in the family currently, you shouldn’t shirk responsibility!” Ye Jingcheng quickly produced a Longevity Spiritual Peach.

Adding some sense of responsibility, as he found the older generation of the Ye Family always considered the family above themselves.

Ye Haiyun was like this, Ye Haiyi was also, even Ye Haitian and Ye Xinghe were like this!

“This…” Ye Xueliang hesitated momentarily.

“Fifteenth Ancestor, the Advancement Pill for your contracted Silver Moon Python is almost researched by the family!” Ye Jingcheng continued.

“Fifteenth Ancestor, I also have two Purple Jade Fruits; with Jingcheng’s Tier Four Alchemist status, refining five or six portions of Purple Mansion Jade Liquid is no problem, just accept them!” Ye Haicheng supplemented, taking out two Purple Jade Fruits!

“Alright!” Ye Xueliang wasn’t a procrastinator; hearing this, he accepted the Purple Mansion Jade Liquid and Longevity Spiritual Peach.

Simply, when looking at Ye Jingcheng, his gaze had already filled with some emotion.

Also recalling when Ye Jingcheng first went to Sand Cloud Hideout.

Back then, Ye Jingcheng hadn’t even reached Foundation Establishment!

Now Ye Jingcheng is Golden Core, while he remains at Foundation Establishment Peak.

“Then, best wishes in advance to Fifteenth Ancestor for breaking through to the Purple Mansion; I’ll bring the two little ones to celebrate with Fifteenth Ancestor!” Ye Jingcheng clasped his hands again, and the entire family burst into laughter.

Afterward, Ye Haicheng and Ye Xueliang gave the Spirit Materials they’d collected to Ye Jingcheng.

This meeting effectively concluded.
