Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Chapter 157: Chapter 158: Waiting for Prey

The underground hall, originally filled with a dull atmosphere due to injury, completely changed with Ye Xueliang’s arrival.

Everyone’s eyes seemed to contain a Moonlight Stone, becoming exceptionally bright.

“Ninth Uncle, Fifteenth Uncle, I remember that Golden-eyed Crows always leave their offspring with the mother crow after completing their breeding task. Shall we chase into its nest?” Ye Xingyu asked.

For a Golden-eyed Crow that has just laid Spirit Eggs, it is undoubtedly the best opportunity to kill it.

A Late Stage Second Tier Golden-eyed Crow is worth at least three to four thousand Spirit Stones.

There’s also the Spirit Eggs, and if lucky, perhaps even Fire Attribute Spirit Medicine.

The calculated value is comparable to half a Foundation Establishment Pill.

Far better than Ye Jingcheng and the others cautiously trapping and ambushing Demon Beasts every day.

Moreover, Ye Xuefu is in the Middle Stage of Foundation Establishment, and Ye Xueliang is in the Early Stage, and even added with a few Tier Two Spirit Beasts, it’s hard to deal with a perfectly healthy Golden-eyed Crow.

“What do Jingyu and Jingcheng think?” Ye Xuefu did not answer directly.

Instead, he looked toward Ye Jingyu and Ye Jingcheng.

“Ninth Ancestor, I believe we shouldn’t chase inside, as that area isn’t our strength!”

“This time, since the Golden-eyed Crow hasn’t caught food, it will certainly come out again, as hatching Spirit Eggs also consumes Spiritual Power!” Ye Jingyu said.

“We just need to summon a few more carnivorous Spirit Beasts and wait for the prey!” Ye Jingyu continued.

Ye Xuefu nodded in agreement, then looked at Ye Jingcheng:

“Replying to Ninth Ancestor, Jingcheng agrees with Fourth Brother’s viewpoint, it’s not advisable to chase inside, no matter what, it’s a Late Stage Second Tier Golden-eyed Crow!”

“Without a Purple Mansion, anything unexpected could happen, waiting for the prey is the best outcome!!”

“And, I don’t suggest we just wait for it, but we could provoke its Spirit Nest to draw its anger, which might be even better!” Ye Jingcheng added.

Using meat to lure powerful Demon Beasts is risky; without specifics it’s fine, but with specifics, it’s essentially gambling.

However, provoking the Golden-eyed Crow seems slightly better.

Yet there remains a question of who will do it.

The Golden-eyed Crow’s nest is certainly high on the peaks, the vision and speed of Demon Birds are beyond ordinary reach.

When the time comes, if the lure fails, danger will ensue instead.

“That’s right, let’s follow what Jingyu and Jingcheng said, but this time, we’ll also look for some help and borrow a few Spirit Beasts…” Ye Xuefu decided.

He looked at Ye Xueliang, who also nodded.

Clearly, in the Taihang Mountain Range, there are other concealed places like Sha Yun Mountain where the Ye Family’s Foundation Establishment cultivates.

Ye Jingcheng’s suspended worry immediately fell.

The five swiftly divided tasks and began preparing for the demon hunt.

…

The crimson light was slightly harsh, even the green leaves became somewhat cracked.

The falling tree shadows also became more mottled.

In a flat area, several red antelopes were trapped, bleating.

Occasionally biting off a mouthful of grass.

But they seemed to disdain the grass for its lack of richness, and the Spiritual Energy wasn’t plentiful either.

They chewed it in their mouths, finally discovering they couldn’t leave, and swallowed it.

In the distance, a Blood Shadow quietly approached, revealing two crimson eyes.

Thud!

A booming sound was heard as a golden-red spear pierced through a Red Jade Spider.

The Tier One Late Stage Red Jade Spider couldn’t even last a breath before blood oozed from its eyes, struggled twice, and then it stopped moving.

A flash of Spiritual Light of a Magical Artifact passed, and the next moment, the Red Jade Spider’s corpse was also collected into a Storage Bag.

Normally, Ye Xuefu and Ye Xueliang would let the Ye Family’s younger generation practice, but this time, these Tier One Demon Beasts couldn’t trigger the Array!

The five, draped in Spirit-Blocking Robes, gathered under a Five-Colored Transparent Oil Umbrella.

From the outside, it appeared deserted, and only when they attacked would Spiritual Light emerge.

The expressions of the five were not good as the Golden-eyed Crow was indeed cunning; they had been waiting here for five days, yet still saw no sign of the Golden-eyed Crow.

To capture this Golden-eyed Crow, they had moved the combat site closer to its nest, balancing safety as much as possible.

At present, they could even see the crimson light on the distant peaks.

In these five days, many Tier One Late Stage Demon Beasts appeared, and even a demon beast in the Early Stage of Foundation Establishment showed up.

During these days, it was always Ye Xueliang who used a golden-red spear to defeat the enemies.

“This matter can’t be delayed any longer; delay brings change!” Ye Xuefu spoke to Ye Xueliang with a frowned brow.

The latter nodded and took a Spirit Beast Bag.

In the next moment, a crane bird with plum blossom spots appeared.

The crane’s white feathers were extremely long, and its eyes were filled with Spiritual Wisdom.

The crane, upon appearing, didn’t look at Ye Xueliang but at Ye Xuefu.

The latter smiled and took out a Jade Bottle.

The Jade Bottle was extremely special, extraordinarily long, and he uncorked it.

The Mei Yuhe stretched its head over, and its long sharp beak took out the Spirit Pill inside.

Then it raised its head and swallowed it.

Its two sharp beaks crackled twice, lit up with white light, and soared toward the distant peaks.

Ye Jingcheng looked on enviously; the speed of this Mei Yuhe was definitely among the top in Tier Two Spirit Beasts.

And for a cultivator, having this Spirit Pet was a mark of honor.

“Everyone start getting ready!” Ye Xuefu commanded.

This time, provoking the Golden-eyed Crow with a demon beast won’t be like their initial plan to ambush it.

This would test the strength of the cultivators even more.

Besides his Red Spear, Ye Xueliang also took out a black triangular pyramid.

Additionally, mysterious snake patterns began to appear on his body.

Clearly, this was a higher-level Secret Technique of the Beast Communication Pattern.

Meanwhile, Ye Xuefu took out a Flying Sword and his Four-Phase Furnace.

Seeing the furnace, he paused a bit himself, as after all, it was a Pill Furnace.

Everyone knows that a Pill Furnace is solely for Alchemy.

Ye Jingcheng had a peculiar look on his face, but he also took out his Magical Artifacts—first the Cyan Heart Mirror and Shocking God Drum, as only these two could be particularly effective against Tier Two Demon Beasts.

Finally, he retrieved the Shadow Needle and Iron Wood Token.

Beside him, Ye Xingyu and Ye Jingyu also took out their respective Magical Artifacts.

His fourth brother’s artifacts were still a Wind Banner and an Array Banner.

No need to mention the Wind Banner, as it was Ye Jingyu’s favorite; the Array Banner would be used to assist in controlling the Array when the battle began.

Ye Xingyu had more artifacts, and they were quite diverse.

Once everyone was ready, a white light appeared from afar.

Following the white light was a crimson flame light and a black spot.

Then came the unpleasant screeching of crows.

Among the Demon Beasts, the Golden-eyed Crow was famous not only for its fiery might but also for its harsh tone.

The Mei Yuhe, although only Mid-stage Second Tier, wasn’t slow at all.

As Ye Jingcheng and the others got closer, they realized that the Mei Yuhe’s claws held a black egg.

No wonder the Golden-eyed Crow behind was furious and screeched incessantly.
